at long last, an update!

I've uploaded pictures from my school trip to Nagasaki onto photobucket, so I can finally post some here.  mypicgallery can burn in hell.

at the hotel

eating a strange japanese snack, preen.

Hois Ten Bosch, the recreation Dutch village.  I have no idea why such a thing was created.  it was still pretty interesting though.

all ready for Christmas, even though its not celebrated here.

Kofukuji Temple

I just noticed that there is a hand behind the pillar, and I have no idea whose it is.

Some random girls I met that wanted a picture with me (what can I say, I've just got that foreign charm)

Chinatown

And finally, a picture of Sakita aka the Griff Waterman of Japan.

and that was my trip.

today was nice because we didn't have school.  I believe this was because of labor thanksgiving day.  anyway, I went and saw a traditional kyogen play with my host dad at the library.  although I couldn't understand the story, kyogen is a comedy, so there the characters actions were very amusing.  this is the second time I've seen kyogen, the first being just last week when I went with my teacher and saw kyogen performed along noh at the noh theater in Nagoya.  the costumes and dancing in noh are extremely interesting, except because I couldn't understand the story, and its not a comedy, some of it kind of dragged.  this past week I also went to an onsen for a second time up in the mountains of nagano prefecture.  needless to say, it was fantastic.  that's all for now.

great pics. yes, fuck you mypicgallery. and fuck you too, you have the traditional black uniform. my uniform is a full-suit with sweater vest and everything, but i would totally prefer the traditional black. some of the other schools near here use that uniform, and apparently my school used it like 10 years ago but then changed.

looks like the trip was alot of fun, and yes, preen is good. is that a traditional style hotel? kickass dude. anyway, thats all ive got to say for right now, but also that im going to Kobe tomorrow for the weekend. later, and check my xanga for the letter from the school regarding judo, its great.

Tsutaya is the rental place here. Im pretty sure its a nationwide chain though because they have it in both Nagano and Tokyo (been to one in both places), but if your rental place is a different company, than get a card there. we both know that cds are ridiculously expensive, so now this way, even if your host family doesnt have a cd burner, you can sample the discs first and decide if they are worth buying or not. anyway, yes, the letter is the best letter ever created. I think ill put it on my wall in america along with some udon pictures that my class gave me last week. later dude, have a good weekend/friday of school (i dont have to go tomorrow).

nice pics :) especially the ones which have trees and buildings decorated for christmas, they're so beautiful.

the reason why they made a park which features holland is probably because nagasaki was once the only place where japanese people trade things with only two foreign countries, china and holland. they were closing country but somehow the government allowed them to trading in an articifial island called dejima which was constructed in the bay in nagasaki.

u seem to had alotta fun there :) dats great! well, gimme dat purin n ima run away lol

k so laterz

manya lol
