SO you never answered the question!

Who am I? I'm not KB! Not Greg and although Kenny seems to think that was him it wasn't. But here's a hint, I don't have your password andyou should really remember to log out when you're done.

Love always,

Your friendly neighborhood hacker

Despite this being dead. I am alive. Though barely. NSA, I have come to find out... takes... quite the effort.
It seems as if whenever I turn a corner on one assignment... then next one is right there. I say it seems that way, but it is more like it is that way.

New Saint Andrews College

Yes, I am in college. Yes, I survived my first week. Yes, I am into my second week.

Here's the break down on my classes:

Beginning Latin: Very cool. Let me just say something about the way this course is taught. Not only do I have one of the best teachers in the Nation, but he teaches it like a living language. He makes us converse with it. It is extremely conversational and very quick. I don't know how some of the people who have never taken Latin are doing it.

Lordship (Theology 101): This is probably a tie for my favorite with Latin. I love learning about this kind of stuff. And there is a lot of reading involved. Mr. Appel is a wonderful teacher. He is easy to comprehend. He is gracious. And he is not a morning person (my hero), which means I have from 7:30-10:00 to study other things!

Classical Rhetoric: Lots of reading. LOTS. We have Postman's Amusing Ourselves to Death and Everything Bad is Good for You due on Wednesday. That's about 470 pgs for one assignment. Not only do we have to read that, but we have to read 2 poems aloud every day. And collect 25 meaningful/funny quotes from our daily living and reading (this week we have to collect 50). So... please say something funny. Like really funny. Now. (or meaningful...?) Ah well, Rhetoric is lots of fun. We have not begun writing papers yet, but I am sure they will come... very soon. Mr. Wilson is a hoot.

Mathematics: Dr. Stokes is... intimidating. I think that might be the best way to describe him and his class. Dr. Stokes is a brilliant man. Though he can put a complicated thought into a more easily understood fashion  (I won't say easy... really I am being too nice. Most of the ideas are very complex and not even resembling easy). Like... do numbers exist? Or are they just representations and symbols of what really are there? What is a point? A point cannot be something that can be seen, because a point does not occupy space and is without extension. So, does a point exist? Can we even comprehend something that does not occupy space without extension? Is a point like God? Like I said...

The first week went really well overall. Right now it seems pretty manageable, but I am looking at the syllabus and I know that the reading load does not get any lighter, but soon papers begin to fill any extra time I might have. This week is harder than last week though. Last week (from Wed-Saturday) we had to read about 450 pgs. This week we have to read over 1000. And when you read 45-50 pgs./hr. at best. That takes some time . Anyways, it feels as if it has been an eternity since I have started, but it has only started. My first break is sometime in October. Life is good right now. Depending on my time (and mood), I might update again... within another month or two . I still check this. So, if you want an update, let me know and I will try to fit it in.

Cheers!

Story Time…

I finally have a story that is out of the ordinary. This happened Thursday night.

I occasionally go Swing dancing on Thursday nights with a group of friends. So, I was leaving this place a little early because I had to get up early. As I was walking down the street, I noticed a group of people walking toward the bar. (Side note: The swing dance is held in a room above the bar… not associated with the bar though). I had to cross the street to get to my car. So, I cut the corner a bit to give this group a little room. As they got closer, I heard one of the guys in the group say, “Let’s start a fight in the bar.” I decided I would ignore them. But as I was crossing the street I heard the “Let’s-Start-A-Fight” guy  call out to me saying, “Hey, what do you want?” I turned around and saw him walking towards me with his hands raised in the air.

I told him I didn’t want anything; and started to walk away. Then he blocked me off and chest-bumped me. Then he said, “You wanna fight?” I told him, “No, *you* don’t want to fight because you are about 100 lbs. lighter than me.” He was about 5’ 9” and maybe 165-170 lbs. I am 6’ 2” and 220 lbs. He kept up with those same two questions over and over.

He finally said, “You wanna walk away?” I said, “Sure, I’ll walk away.”  So, I tried to step around him and he grabbed my shirt with both hands. So, I grabbed his shirt with my left hand. I was concerned that he would start something so I left my right hand free. Then he repeated the same two questions over and over again. “You wanna fight? What do you want? What do you want…” and so on. From the start in the back of my mind I had known that there was a car stopped in the intersection. At this point, I saw it was a patrol car.

I told the guy to let go of my shirt. He told me no. I could smell alcohol on his breath, although I don’t think he was entirely drunk. He kept up with the same questions. By this point I was really angry. This random guy comes up to me. And gets in my face to try and talk me down. So, I yelled at him this time, telling him to let go of my shirt. Again he said, “No, you wanna walk away?” I said I would still walk away. I tried to move a bit, but he didn’t let go.

I had enough of that. So, I took my right arm and put it in his stomach, lifting him off the ground and threw him away from me. He landed on his back and did a backwards summersault. I walked away from him a bit and the officer pulled up between us. The guy walked away and the officer asked me what happened and asked if I was alright.

At 11:56, a male was arrested in front of the bar for disorderly conduct. lol

The end.
