To the five people reading my blog, sorry about not posting in a while. But I had a little adventure last week which needs to be told...I was sailing with Leonardo DiCaprio in the Titanic. Ok, not really but I wish I did...but not in the Titanic since we all know how that turned out. But I did spend last week on a boat attending a workshop hosted by the uber talented Scott Robert and 10 other awesome and fantastic photographers and 6 beautiful models.
We sailed. We danced. We ate (LOVE the endless food). And most importantly we learned a lot while having fun. I did puke towards the end which no one really needs to know (yup, I got sea-sick the last day...yuck). Other than my inability to develop sea legs, I had soooo much fun.
I landed in Miami last Monday and the boat sailed late afternoon towards Key West. I love Key West! The architecture was so colorful and the water was so blue. The people were all so nice. I really could imagine myself retiring on this island sipping pina-coladas all day. Overall, this little piece of land was the perfect place to photograph the gorgeous models. Arriving at Cozumel, Mexico the day after also proved to be the same...GORGEOUS and PERFECT. We had a bit of a snafu when we arrived at the Mayan ruins and couldn't photograph the models in it...it has something to do with historical architecture and being ruined and stuff (which I kindna tuned-out since I kept seeing 1-foot long lizards going in and out from these Mayan ruins...I'm not gonna lie, I was freaked and ready to shriek like a little girl).
But basically, we couldn't shoot there (thank the Mayan Gods!) so we went to a sea-side hotel instead. I think it was a blessing since this hotel looked fantastic. It's located right next to the beautiful ocean and really looks like the perfect resort hotel you see in the movies where a big name hollywood star could be seen here lounging all day. Unfortunately, I didn't see a big name actor/actress. Yup, I lost my chance being a paparazzi since I was so ready to take their pics to sell to the tabloids. Oh well, but we did get to photograph our models in this beautiful backdrop which was also good.
In the end, I learned a lot not only from Scott but also from the other photographers. It was really one of the best weeks of my life. I didn't really want it to end...and who could blame me...I saw beautiful places I've never seen before...I get to photograph models...Endless food on the cruise (which was kindna bad since I gained a pound or two)...I get to learn from Scott...And I met other photographers who are photography-nuts just like myself.
Below is a collage from the cruise. You could see me taking a pic of myself on the windy deck. You could also see the cabin room where I stayed with my roomie Ellie. A also took a pic of the cruise ship and the awesome scenery I've seen. The last couple of pics are some of the photos I took of the beautiful models while we were in Key West.
To my five readers...Enjoy! Hope you like the pics.
