K:  Some of you may know my sister.  She had a baby in Dec '06, and Julia has become our new wonderful obsession.  I wanted to share some cute photos so you can see what a lucky uncle and aunt we are.

K: It's just one of those mundane days. I had more time at work today--just because. I decided to try out the new privacy screens that we're mandated to use. It's really not working out for me, but it puts me in a real moral crisis. I just like following the rules, so should I tolerate this headache for the rest of my life or not? Anyway, the screen is completely flat, whereas the computer screen is rounded, so the only way I can appreciate the entire screen now is by shifting my head side to side. Next they're going to tell me to stop accessing this website at work. Other than that, I generally do like my job!

K:  Well, we just met up with Luke and were reminded of the fact that we have this blog-site and never seem to get around to updating it.  Anyway, today is the 6th anniversary of the day that we first met!  We pretty much spent today with family since Will's aunt and uncle came in from Hong Kong for a few days.  We were very much encouraged by the sermon this morning, which was a neat way to start off '06.  The speaker talked about the love of God being felt in a real way in our lives, for us to experience the truth that we are accepted no matter what.  It seems like they will be having a Sunday School class based upon this premise.  Lets hope we can be disciplined enough to make it!  That means that we have to go to all 3 services, since we also try to make the young couple's class.  Well here's to a new year.

K:  WE DID IT!  We finally fixed our back license plate.  Since the screw nut had been pulled off its tracks, we weren't able to tightly screw the new plate on.  Today, I was able to pop the right one back onto its tracks using a paper clip.  The left one is permanently missing since we accidentally dropped it into a hole that my car has.  Luckily, Will and I found a part at Pep Boys that looks just like a miniature version of those plastic ridged tubes that you pound into a drywall before you twist in your screw.  Anyway, if anyone ever has an Audi back license plate nut that falls off its tracks, you'll know who to call.

K: So, the other week I was in Palo Alto.  I should have known better because I had read in the newspaper that the meter maids are ruthless.  They are known to chase people down to their vehicles just so they can get there first and give a ticket.  Anyway, I got a ticket for missing a front license plate.  I can't find my license plate anymore, I never had it on!  So, I finally gave in and dragged myself to the nearest DMV.  Did you know that they don't allow you to keep your own plate numbers when you lose a plate?  They made me turn in my old rear plate the same afternoon.  I borrowed their screwdriver and went out to my car just to discover that my dad had glued it in with silicon gel, and it took about 20 minutes to finally get those screws unloosed.  I'm still trying now to untwist my arm!

The long and short end of it is that I will still miss my deadline for the front plates, because we never installed the bracket on my car--it's still at my dad's.  Great.  Now I have to get an extension, and tomorrow's the deadline.  Palo Alto--it's not for regular people like you and me.
