  • [ karma will get you one day ]

2 years and 3 months in gallup, and it has been more than 1.5 years since i’ve last spoken to the devil who sits beside me. the mentor from hell who stamped on my tail, proclaimed that i am her assistant [duh] in yet another of her trashy multiply postings and watched in glee while i apologized for the bloopers that i have made during the 1st few months at work … is now targeting a new girl in the research team who has just entered the company. in fact, she even penned out an entire blog entry to ridicule and insult the poor girl who doesnt even know what happened.

according to sources, y***sai has applied for the exact same position and somehow, failed to get it.
oh. and i wonder how could that have happened ? especially since she’s so brilliant, popular, beautiful and is the reigning queen of her own lil bubble that only consists of “top-brainy Indonesians around the world“. -rolls eyes-

but you know ? so what if you have “represented Jogjakarta city” and graduated with a degree in “Applied Math major in NUS” ? no one’s gonna give a damn about that because you have failed terribly at being a person and i have never seen anyone who is as ungracious and spiteful as you are. epic fail !!!! even if you have a bag full of wonderful credentials, we will always remember you as the asshole who thinks she’s the #1 alpha hen in the coop and made life hard for everyone else.

    and here’s the entry :

Here is the translation … Handy did not bother to correct her grammars as it is how horrible she wrote (ya, she makes mistake in Bahasa grammar though its much much less complex than the English language) despite her rant about other people’s bahasa haha !!~

    Enjoy!~

    ———————————————————————————————————————————-

Indonesian speak too fast? Say love math but but? (empty barrel clangs louder Indonesian proverb)

I just hope this is read by my colleague who understands bahasa Indonesia although she’s not Indonesian themselves – she totally understands what my concern is. Even better if the one I’m grumbling about also read this post. Oh well, this is my complain about new girl in the office.

    About Bahasa Indonesia
My first question: How she could possibly say she’s fluent in Bahasa Indonesia (but all her translations are just too bad until I have to redo all of her work all over)?

Conclusion: Basically she over boasted herself during interview.

The problem: The ang moh boss did not announce to other colleagues and giving me the credit instead of her for completing the job that should be done by her in the first place. (This “new girl” was hired to do that project that I had to redo)

    Oh please lah…

    1.       You never ever read Indonesian book/newspaper/magz (even the link to Kompas.com I gave you, you never read!!!)

    2.       You don’t speak Bahasa daily with friends/relatives/parents

    3.       You have never attended any Indonesian school and having friends from ALL OVER Indonesia (so that you can understand that Bahasa Indonesia can be pronounced with different dialects)

    4.       You still have to open unrecognized English-Indonesian dictionary + Indonesian thesaurus (I already recommended you KBBI – Bahasa Indonesia official dictionary, helloo?) – oh well, sorry I forgot that you don’t even know what the dictionary that real Indonesian use in Indonesia HAHA.

But why you are the one who were chosen to meet client in Jakarta? What kind of politic is this? If you don’t even understand what the client is talking about, what kind of contribution would you expect to give to office? Like putting salt into the sea, sending you to Jakarta is a futile attempt.

FYI, my high school friends came from Sabang (Most West island in Indonesia) until Merauke(Most East island in Indonesia) – some came from North Sumatra, some even from Papua!!! (see in my Facebook if you don’t buy it). I never have any difficulties in communicating (as long as I don’t accidentally blurting out in Javanese language – because they will surely ask Yunisa – what was that?).

Don’t go too far lah, Mandarin as China national language even has dialects… Beijing people always have “r” suffixes. Like zai na li (Taiwan/common Mandarin) in Beijing becomes zai nar? (my lesson teacher taught me that).

I honestly think Bahasa Indonesia is much simpler than Mandarin. No need sheng diao. Plain pronunciation is enough. As long as you have plenty vocabulary, you must understand what Indonesian speak. Worst case, watch sinetron (Indonesian soap opera) often. At least your passive understanding to the dialogues will increase dramatically, just like those Malay colleagues who’s super addicted to Indonesian sinetron.

Oh yeah, English also has so many pronunciation. I understand la, many American ang moh dun understand what Oz ang moh is talking about or UK ang moh is talking about… But for people with good “listening skill of various accent” like me (although I myself cannot impersonate people’s accent), we still understand what they’re talking about. So, if you say Indonesian speak too fast, then Sir this Ma’am that from another island, you don’t understand the Bahasa, I beg your pardon lah! (in South East Asia, only Indonesian speaks completely I beg your pardon instead of “sorry” or “pardon” or “say again”)

    About math

Oh yeah, last week another colleague uttered the truth about her although she’s a graduate from part-time Economics and Math major (but often typing numbers wrongly), she don’t accept that… For me, I fully supportive of this sentiment from other colleagues about her.  Hey, he spoke the truth!!!

Oh ya, this girl doesn’t know ya that Yunisa is a bachelor from full time Applied Math major in NUS (that of course she couldn’t make it to because during my year, entering NUS was very competitive, foreign students are only 2% from total 20000 students). She also doesn’t know that Yunisa represented Jogjakarta city (Although KO during the national selection for IMO – International Math Olympic) when was only 16 years old – that means Yunisa was appointed to represented school and made it through many selections, etc. I bet, this girl doesn’t know how KILLER it is to prove already-proved-by-others math theorem…

That’s only about math lo, not to mention about other majors. My smallest brother also, all of his teachers are often quarrelling about him so that he can join their Olympiads (just like Yunisa in high school, except he isn’t qualified for social majors, unlike Yunisa who was also a quarrel subject among all of the social major teachers).

Our brain quality is different la…. I’m not insulting here, but sorry mekkkkk, Yunisa’s destiny is surrounded by top-brainy Indonesians around the world… My best friend even won Lee Kwan Yew gold medal looooo….

    Conclusion

Empty barrel clangs louder. Just when can I kick the barrel?

I just want to make you be my antagonist in my next, next novel!!! Remember, my novels not only fictions. I don’t think I need to write about your offensive fashion style here (you want to go to night club or to work? So different with the Taiwanese Phd who’s also new here like you). I’ve told my best friends about you until she got stomach ache listening about you and say “Yun, the way you tell about her is so comedic!”

more often than not, i’ll end up putting those “smart alec” thoughts into actions.
and sometimes, it turns out that am not so smart after all.

for example : i didnt manage to make it to work on pre-hari raya and i thought that i could save myself the pain of OTing the following week by popping into the office on sat to finish up whatever i had.
so i gritted my teeth and dragged my unwilling corpse-to-be into the bloody cramped train, endured the horrid 45 mins ride and finally made it to the office. i verbatimed, exceled, microsoft outlooked and gave myself a lil pat on the back at the end of the day.

much to my horror when monday arrives : there is NO WORK at all ! Bandwidth = 0 ! fuck.

i have no idea how many females out there find earrings on guys sexy/attractive,
but personally, it’s a Major turn off for me.

am i too prudish ? -shrugs-
that’s just how i work, too bad if you don’t like it.

i also dislike a particular japanese buffet restaurant situated in bugis.
ma maison ought to put em to shame.

    - leeched from seed’s-

    Let’s Sweets [sucks]

It is the new Hokkaido dessert buffet with food served on the side. All I can say about that place is that it leaves much more to be desired. Frankly speaking and to be honest, I will almost never step foot into the place again given my last experience there.

They serve a very limited variety of food that mainly consists of rice (lots of it), eggs, potato, fried chicken and fish (with 90% flour and 10% chicken or fish) as well as very watery cheese gratin. So sad to say that I did not take any photographs due to a very strict time limit (shall explain that later). The food is really less than satisfying, the taste is not that fantastic either. What I feel is that they are trying to save every cent on the ingredients and tries to “force” the customers to eat piles and piles of rice. Though they can be very filling, it is definitely not worth the money.

Dessert should be much better one might think, but they have really horrible tasting desserts (again not worth the money) that taste extremely weird (or maybe not catered to Singaporeans’ taste yet). We had a total of 15 different type of desserts (they are really small in portion so we had no problem finishing them) and sad to say that the swiss roll cakes taste good only if we eat the cream (that’s really sad).

Next, the atmosphere is horrible as well because they give each table a time limit of 80 mins before we have to leave and that explains why I did not even bother to take any pictures. Furthermore, they gave us very small plates so we have to make many trips to get the food (time wastage).

So to conclude, I highly discourage anyone who has plans to eat there and I myself would not really want to return to that horrendous place.

    though:
am looking forward to lovely ramen dinner with my fav people tomorrow and chicago musical in another 2 weeks.
beyond that, i just hope that time will zoom by faster … and a fan***tic j** will find me soon coz my body feels so much older than my actual years and i’ve been squinting at the monitor very frequently these days… moo.

till then, am gonna chill out for a bit in the office while i still can afford to.
and … emo at the raindrops pattering on the panes.

self-note: hope the next entry will be cheerier. ~~~

  • [ the 0s and 1s ]

i need to move on … in so many different ways.
and the first decade of year 2000 seems to be a good way for a brand new start.
    1) more appreciative and tolerant
    2) be a less anal & better girlfriend [before all the bad karma gets me]
    3) either attain some kinda work-life balance or get a new job altogether
    4) spend more time with the people i adore [provided that 2)'s viable]
    5) …even more time with family.
    and perhaps :
    6) a particular kate spade clutch ? heh
