Summertime Fun

Well, since my last post a few "fun" things have happened!  First, my husband, my grandbaby and I were going to eat lunch and stopped at a local store so I could get some money out of the teller.  While I was in the store, a young teen, maybe 12 or 13, came up to car and held a gun to my husband's head and told him to "give him the car".  Needless to say, Ray wasn't going to give up the car with Madison inside, so he yelled at the kid and tried to open the door.  The kid was evidently surprised at Ray fighting back and dropped the gun and ran.  It was a 25 automatic and, thankfully, wasn't loaded.  Although Ray didn't know that at the time.  The police were called and so far, we haven't heard that they were caught.  It was very scary!  PTL that all was well.

Then, last Monday, I had a bad wreck and smashed my van all up.  I was sore for a few days, but I'm okay now.  The van, though, has $4500 worth of damage and will be in the shop for 2 weeks.  We have a rental car which we are loving, so I guess that makes it better.

Finally, yesterday, driving the rental car, we ran over some kind of metal thing and had a flat - IN THE RENTAL!  They were very nice and had AAA come out and fix it and then replaced the tire.

I've always heard it said that things come in threes, so maybe that was our three for a while.  Can you believe it?!  I need a vacation from the vacation! :)

We are going to Florida in July and I can't wait.  I hope you are all having a more restful time during these months than I have had over the past 2 weeks.  I'm looking forward to our pool opening this week and spending time with the family cooking out and swimming.  That's what I love most about summer.  Give me water and I'm a happy girl.  Take care and remember that God is in control - and boy, I'm glad about that!!!

Hi!

Well, I guess I should tell you once again that I appreciate the many good thoughts that have been sent my way.  It is so sweet of you all.  I have gone through a terrible, terrible time in my life over the past year and a half that finally was resolved last week.  It was something that I hope none of you ever have to experience and I praise God that He was faithful to see me through it.  It was a horrible and yet amazing time in my life and I felt the presence of prayers and God's presence throughout each day.  I feel as though a huge weight has been lifted and each day is a new blessing.  Each moment that I experience has become more precious and I am blessed to have the privilege to share the day with my family and friends.

During the most awful days, we did have the joy of seeing our daughter married and of watching our grandbaby take her first steps and start to talk nonstop!  It was a memory we will cherish forever.  I just wanted to share with you what has been going on.  I hope to be on more now that school will be out next Wed.  Time will be easier to find and the words easier to write .  Sometimes, it's hard to know how to share and just saying anything seems so trivial when the world seems to be falling apart.  I just couldn't think of what to say.  I again thank you for your concern and kind thoughts.  They meant a lot.

If you are experiencing a time like this in your life, know that there are people who care and that God is faithful.  He will give you strength to take the next step...one step at a time....sometimes even just one minute at a time.  Hold on.

Thank You!

I appreciate the sweet notes you have sent me and the worried comments.  First let me say that I am doing fine physically.  Sometimes, things aren't so easy emotionally, though.  I've just been going through some rough patches that I'm trusting God to get me through.  I don't really feel like doing much except sleeping when I get home from work.  Depression can be a real hard thing to manage, but I know that God is in control and I'm taking steps to move on through it.  Every time I've received a message, I have smiled to think that people I haven't met care enough to take their time to think of  me.  You have been a blessing in my life and I hope you know how much I appreciate you.

Big Hug

School is going well and we have only 2 months left.  Time flies so quickly.  I think that now that the time has changed and the sun is out more, I feel better.  The kitten is getting bigger and is into EVERYTHING.  As I type this, that little critter is crawling onto the top of my chair and playing with my hair.  The garbage cans, sacks, laundry baskets...everything is fair game around here now!  Ray and I often watch the cat and dog play and comment on how we have 2 little kids and the best part is they don't need a college fund!

Keep those Memphis Tigers cheers coming 'cause we're going for the championship!

Thanks again for caring and I'll try to do better on updating.  I do miss you all and hope you and your families are all doing well and had a great Easter!

Love ya!Kisses

Cathy
