been dreading doing this post... cuz it's gonna be HUUUUGE!!!!
so after weeks of shawn pestering me and willis, we finally sucked it up, bought tickets, and headed off to hawaii. it was the first time for both willis and me, and it was absolutely worth the inflated plane ticket prices.
apologies in advance for the massive number of pictures... this is cut down from nearly 1000 pics from the trip. O_o
at the airport, shawn wanted us to take pictures of just how excited we were.

first thing we did (after getting the jeep, dropping off luggage, and picking up willis) was go to this little japanese restaurant that shawn claimed has the best oxtail soup ever... he was right. it was damn good!
we rented a timeshare from someone for the week. only $500 per person for the entire week. pretty damn good deal, i think. especially for a place w/ 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a living room.

we tried clubbing in hawaii... but that wasn't really happening. haha. we were all just too damn tired by midnight every night.
we tried to take the top off the jeep... while in the garage. haha. the top kept hitting the ceiling... so much for that idea.
first time ever in one of the famous ABC stores in hawaii (ABC stands for All Blocks Covered... no shit... they're EVERYwhere). 1 liter corona!!! yay!
first morning, it was up bright and early, and off to surfing lessons! here are all of the videos!

after surfing, we noticed all of these jellyfish just off of the pier. the instructor guy reached down and pulled one out for us to hold. candice fondled its genitals!!!
unfortunately, the lessons were on reef breaks... during low tide. that meant that the coral reef was a mere 2 feet below the surface of the water, making falling off the board extremely painful.... see?

shawn forgot his credit card at the restaurant, so we headed back to go get it. willis and i waited on a bench for them to get the card, and willis (bored) took this pic.

so one night, we decided to go to a fancy restaurant, Alan Wong's. normally a wonderful experience (from what shawn and candice tell me)... but unfortuntely, we went there on the same night as a food critic. as such, we got completely screwed on the service. food wasn't coming out at the same time... our tea/wine pairings were coming out 10 minutes before the food... shawn's dessert was missing the ice cream! the list went on and on... at the end, candice pulled the manager aside and listed off our complaints. shockingly, the manager comped our ENTIRE MEAL (about $370) and gave us her business card so we could call her when we come back to hawaii and have special service.
annnyway... despite all that... here's pics from the restaurant. =)

after surfing nearly every day of the week, on the final day... willis had an unfortunate incident. after falling off of his board, a following wave threw willis's board... right into his mouth, and chipped his tooth. OUCH!
