Out of the Office!

Brad and I are taking off for a mini vacation to the North Shore for a few days. I will not have access to internet or email while I am away, so I apologize for the lack of blogging in advance! I will return on Sunday evening, so check back then for photos!

Emily will be in the office on Thurs. and Fri. 10-3 if you need assistance! Otherwise I will see you in the office on Monday the 21st! Thanks and have a great weekend!

Summer Fun and Friends!

Yesterday was our annual TCPPA Boat Cruise and what a perfect evening for a boat cruise it was!! The weather was awesome, the food and service was great, and the friendships are second to none! It is so amazing to be surrounded by such talented photographers!! I can't believe that over half of my year as President is already gone! It has flown by SO fast!! We had a really great time yesterday, and thought I would share some fun photos I snapped with my little point and shoot throughout the evening!! Thanks everyone for a GREAT time!

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. McGuire!!

Kristine and Christopher were married yesterday on an incredibly beautiful July day in Chaska! Their reception was at Turtle's Social Center in Shakopee (which is just doors down from my studio!) where Bryan and his staff did a fantastic job with the food and service!!

I had a GREAT time with these guys!! You may remember a few weeks ago I posted Sara's Senior photos, well, Sara is Kristine's sister. So I have really gotten to know the whole family, which makes the wedding all that much more fun! I loved Kristine and Chris' Disney themed wedding, it was told during the toasts that Chris propsed to Kristine at Epcot Center during fireworks. Awww......

Dog (and cat) Days Of Summer!!!

I have been very inspired by another photographer in the industry and by some of the fundraising efforts they have been VERY successful with! I am going to roll out my First Annual Dog Days Of Summer fundraiser!!

The weekend of August 16&17 we will be photographing your pets for FREE with the donation of a bag of dog or cat food. (they especially need kitten food and clumping cat litter). You will also receive a FREE 5x7 of your pet simply for participating in this awesome event! In addition, 20% all portrait sales will go directly to the Carver Scott Humane Society! They recently had land donated to them to build a permanent structure on, however, they desperately need funds to afford to build the structure!!

As a cat owner myself, I have gotten all of my animals from the Humane Society so I have a strong desire to help them out! Call now to schedule your appointment for the 16 or 17, as I know these are going to fill up fast! Space is limited to the first 50 pet owners that call!! Help us make this a success for the Humane Society!

Michelle's Boudoir Photos!

Michelle came in last week for her boudoir session, she was referred from her friend Cody who came in a few months ago. We had a blast doing her session, and her images are AMAZING! I felt so bad her for her though, she woke up with a completely stiff neck and wasn't able to comfortably get into some of the poses I would have done. I felt her pain, as I had a stiff neck for two weeks earlier in June! But she was a trooper and we got some fantastic photos! Here is a little sneak peek!!

Dana!

Dana came in last week for a headshot session. She is looking to audition for Community Theater and needed a headshot with her resume! She was so funny, she was trying to talk herself out of her appointment because she was so terrified of having her photos taken! Isn't that funny?? I hear that more often than one might think! But once she was here she was totally at ease and did GREAT! Aren't her images super cute?! Good luck with your audition Dana!

Fourth Of July Fun!

I had a very nice weekend out of town visiting my parents! I brought the cats along so they wouldn't be home alone. Not sure if that was a good idea or not, they don't travel well in the car!! Poor Sylvester mews the entire drive, and Maxx has to sit there and listen to him! But they love it at their grandparents house because there are alot of windows to sit in and watch the birds!!

Saturday night I enjoyed the Taste of Minnesota with a few friends! We watched the AMAZING fireworks from the river in St. Paul and had a lot of fun. The weather was perfect this weekend! Now I am off to bed to rest for another really busy week at the studio!! Here are some photos for you to enjoy in the meantime!

My Little Birdie!

So a few weeks back a couple barn swallows built a nest in the awning above my studio door. It happens every year and I have to learn to live in peace with bomb-diving swallows for about a month or so. On Monday Bree swept outside only to come in with horror on her face. One of the baby birds had fallen out of the nest and was on the sidewalk. The ants were carrying him away. Yesterday, another little birdie fell out (or I guess jumped). He looked to be close to leaving the nest and he was alert and hopping around. He managed to get up on the ledge of the window at the Bakery next door. His mom and dad kept flying by and didn't want anyone getting close to their baby. His two brothers were up in their nest chirping like crazy. I kept an eye on him all day to make sure he was doing alright. This morning he is nowhere in sight and there is only one bird left in the nest. I am guessing he figured out how to fly without all the distractions of downtown during the day!! He was so cute though, I had to take some photos!!

An Unexpected Suprise!!

Last night I was frantically working to get things done before heading out to photograph the soccer team when I heard my door squeak open up front! I start to walk up (not expecting anyone at this time) and to my suprise it is Robin and her daughter Brynn!!! They had been at Valleyfair all day (which is literally about 4 miles from my studio) and thought she would try to stop in to see my studio! It was an awesome suprise! Unfortunately I could only sit and chat for about 15 minutes because I had to head out to the soccer fields, but it was still great to see them and give them a two-cent tour of my studio! Robin has been very near my studio several times for TCPPA meetings, but never had the chance to see my place! Now I will have to head down by her and drop in!! (hopefully she'll have more time than I did though!)

Of course I had to take a quick photo while they were here!!
