  • 18!

Missed it by a couple of minutes. Just wanted to say thanks everyone who said Happy Birthday today! I love you all. And thanks for the gifts - you guys know who you are. It made my day too that my parents had sent me a birthday package in the mail, =] I don't feel any different, but now according to the law I'm an adult now. 18 - that age where you start to take control of your own life. Except here in college they take care of you so well...so I guess I don't quite feel like an adult yet. Anyway just a post to mark the occasion!

  • Pre-Finals

This entry has no particular significance. I just want to write something.

So coming back to school after a wonderful winter break during which I got no work done, I find myself buried under assignments and papers. "Reading Period" should be termed "Writing Period" since so much of the student population is writing papers...oh well.

ScienceDay was a success!! Out of 80 kids or so who went to my snowflake lesson, only 1 cut himself. It was just a tiny cut but it made me so sad - I felt like I failed. Oh well, he said it didn't hurt. And kids looooved the 6-sided snowflakes they made (take that, those of you who walked to my station saying "I already know how to do this! I did this before!" You didn't make a 6-sided one, ha). Oh, and the liquid nitrogen vanilla ice cream at the end was spectaculicious.

Speaking of spectaculicious, Jeremy's parents treated our dorm to dinner at the Ethiopian restaurant today. That place is mad good. I mean who can pass up spongy bread??

Reading Period ended last night and Examination Period begins today. Traditionally the midnight between Reading Period and Examination Period is the time for "Primal Scream," where half of the Harvard population or so either runs naked around the Yard or stands on the sidelines and watches them. I can't tell you how many people participated this year because I wasn't there. Ha.

Sahar, Angela and May came and visited a few days ago! You guys are way awesome. How are you guys so happy all the time.

I finished the last of my assignments yesterday afternoon, and then rewarded myself  ... by buying a Rubik's cube. Our second cousin from Belgium stayed with us during winter break and he was a speed cuber and got me intrigued...haha. Watch out, Arcadia people. Just kidding, I don't think I'll ever be insane like you guys. My fastest time was 1:31. And that was because I got lucky and got to skip an algorithm.

Poor Michelle Wie. I've almost given up on her, but not really. She really needs to win, though.

Australian Open main draw begins Monday! yesss.

There's supposed to be an "ice storm" sometime soon. Raise your hand if you don't know what an ice storm is. Because I don't. My roommates tell me I'm in for it.

I can play bridge now. Yes, the card game. Balderdash rocks. So does Catchphrase. I'm having way more fun than I should be.

and....OK Go is awesome. Just in case you didn't know.
