The New Year

Year's Recap...

Well what can I say...and where to begin?!

I guess that first semester was a pain and drag with CA treatment.  hm...14 hours of classes...made some friends...primarily girls though (Angelica, Erin, Ivonne, Ashley W., etc.)...considering I am a PRE-NURSING major...but I also made a lot of other friends that were non-nursing majors (Jason "Panda", Calvin, Justin W., Julia, JoJo, Alex, Cari Beth, etc.). Don't have alot of fond memories of 1st semester though...

BUT SECOND SEMESTER! MAN! Where to begin...let's go with extracurricular stuff...

I believe that this really was my semester...so many friends (Congress President Josh Sawyer, Congress Program Director Zac Walker, Science Senator Robert Reyes, Engineering Senator & COSGA UTA Delegate Amanda Urban, NCC President Christine Simpson, RA Rodger Jones & Desiree Gardner, HOSA TA Secretary Osama Hanif & Secondary VP Beverly Patuwo...this list could go on and on and on...)...so many experiences...so many memories (volleyball 3 nights monday-thursday for 3 hours at least, study party's in the study lounge, election campaigning, COSGA, etc.)...*Sigh* I can't believe that my freshman year of college is over already...next year's gonna be CRAZY with everything I'm gonna be doing...that and all the people that are transferring to UT and all...

However...I do wanna give a HUGE thanks out to everyone that really made my first year of college unforgettable!

Good & Bad...

Seriously...last week was crazy weird...

Good
(1) I'm the OUTSTANDING FRESHMAN LEADER 2005-2006! Go me! Whoot! That and I got money...>.O...they paid me to be a leader...I wish this was a real job! muahahaha (2) I'm the new Healthy Lifestyles RA for 2006-2007! I got the community I wanted! ^_^ made my day really awesome!

Bad
(1) 3 tests back to back and didn't have much time to study for the other two...my time was focused on the lab practical for anatomy & physiology...>.<...arg...(2) Carl didn't get Congress President...so that leaves Zac...grrrrrrrrrrr......(3) had to work at DQ both yesterday and today for half day...

School sucks arse right now...Nursing BETTER BE WORTH IT!!!

besides that...I was forced into getting a myspace...so I've got that too!

OMYGOODNESS! WHERE TO BEGIN!?

it was crazy fun...I stayed at University Oaks at UTSA with anwei and got to catch up and hang out...anyways...

Wednesday
left right after lab and got into san antonio around 8:30 to get a HOSA tie from bailey...lo and behold...bailey was hospitalized back here in plano...so um...yeah...didn't got too well...went to UTSA and that was pretty much it...=/

Thursday
woke up around 6:30 and got ready to be picked up by my advisor and headed over to the Crowne...met alot of the candidates...6 out of 11 candidates were from Area V...BUAHAHAH! PWNAGE! anyways...it was pretty cool...had our interviews...went to registration and turned in a bunch of stuff...and waited around to see where all the candidates were slotted...holy crap it was horrible...everything was jumbled up...only 2 of the secondary candidates got what they wanted...>.<...Zainab was under Reporter and Anna was under President...campaigning begins and then competitions started around 1 with Kaiser...which i skipped...=D...took the Nursing assisting test at 3...um...i was the 1st person in the whole room to finish and I took the 50 question test in less than 5 minutes...you should've seen me when I came and wondered...did i even pass that test?!?! anyways...opening ceremony was cool...these deaf people did a REALLY cool interpretive dance! ^_^ but it was very long and drawn out...afterwards was the voting delegates session...all of us did our speeches and answered a rally question...i got "you have a personality conflict with one of the other officers, and it is beginning to affect your performance as an officer. how will you handle the situation?" sound familiar...>.O...perfect question for me...anyways...finished that and got to UTSA around 11:30...

Friday
Did nothing, but go to Northstar...and catch up on some seriously lacking sleep...

Saturday
Oh boy...woke up and got dressed in my scrubs...got picked up by my advisor to go to Health Careers High *dum dum dummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm* got there and was the 1st person called to do skills...sooooooo...BASICALLY the scenario was:
Mrs. Jones has right sided weakness and needs her bed changed. She also has a doctor's order to be turned onto her right lateral side.
soooooo...i read it and started making the occupied bed and started on the left side of the patient by taking off the linens and everything and then put a pillow underneath her lower back to "keep her in place" and then i went to the right side and completed making the bed...i did the lateral right following this and then told the judges i was done. The judges looked at me like i was insane because I did this skill in less than 5 minutes, even though it's set for 10 minutes on the rubric. In that 5 minutes...I also performed the right lateral positioning skill as well...in short...i did a 17 minute set of skills in 5 minutes total...and the judges gave me nasty looks...>.<...
after all this...I went to hang out with the plano sr people and then got to watch the final HB round...IT WAS AMAZING! Health careers got beat on home court by PLANO SR! KUH-LEEE! ("curry"...that's for you shelby...>.O) 13-8 Plano...wowzerz! it was amazing...emily and me kept spazzing in the room and stuff while the game was going on...hahahaha...anyways...
closing ceremonies...craziness! i'm so excited!!! HALF OF THE STATE EXEC'S ARE AREA V!!! Area what?! AREA V!! WHOOOT! *Anna...know that you're still OUR state President! you're the best! don't let it get you down!* Presenting...Your Texas HOSA Exec's...
