Audo....whattie..?

jk. I bought a new toy. In light of the anti-ipod spirit.
well not necessarily a spirit persay, I just like to try out different things too.
I pods aren't bad.

Anywho. I got a Sansa. It bothered me at first with its clinging relationship with rhapsody (horrible). At least Im in love with the iTunes ecosystem so it was a weird transistion. Luckily I found a way to drag and drop itune files onto the sansa. Reason why I deal with it, is the sound quality and features on sansa. Built in recorder (crystal clear with little noise) and FM radio. The sound is off the wall, it comes with crappy factory headphones but get JVC "marshmallows" and youll be set.

its got a glowy blue scroll wheel too. I like glowy. oooh.

I am starting to freak out in excitement/stress about events this February.
And it'll only get more hectic as we get closer to IAW.

- Courses
- New Job
- MSA
- Plotting adworks for IAW
- Muslim Health Mentors
- moderating Darfur Event [February 6th! 12:30-3:00, Presidents Room] COME!
- Sister's Show 2007

sometimes.
I tend to become a workaholic.
I like busybody werk. And staying on my toes.
but I like that feeling of a hard days work and sitting on le couch for a cup for tea and aqua team.
or just listening to some music.

Im grandma-y. I go to bed at 11 and start my day off after fajr now.
its creepy. my insomiatic formerself is literally ripping its hair out.
Its fun to see the sun come up in the morning and not have it be beacause you stayed up the entire night.
ha. good old times. Still training for the half, which means cold morning runs, funny that I pick the coldest time of the day to go out and freeze and run around in circles. yup.

I started eating breakfast. I started packing healthy well-balanced lunches.
I've been saving moneys and buying more foodstuff with it to make even better sack lunches.
I have a cool pucca lunch bag. you can't really beat that.
its this savings and interests and profit crap in the world of food consuming.

I got rid of extraneous distractions.
I got my firm grip on my sights to my goals.
I'm loving every class I am taking and beating them senseless making sure to uncle that very last drop of information.
My parents are great, roomies are good. Friends are so secure.

Honestly...I should just make sure to pray that things will keep this productivity as a baseline and that my deen doesn't get taken away.
I am so blessed and so grateful for every breath.
Qadr of Allah is something we gotta respect, not inspect.

Words cannot explain the happiness and fulfillment I feel with the waking of everyday.

Salaams!

doot...doot....doot.

Its funny.

You don't really have that much to complain about or 'blog' about when things are going pretty niii-iiice. Personally some of my more fiery posts end up being the good ones. But yeah eh, 2007 is starting off calm. I like calm. I like calm a lot. I'm extremely looking forward to this next semester of schollege i'A and cannot wait for what unfolds for me. I've been relaxing on the homefront and getting spoiled by the parents, who dearly missed their little genetic mad scientist. ha. Okay, cheesy.

Today I was watching TV and saw this lady who was in charge of putting up the music in all those shows like the OC and Grey's Anatomy etc. And I thought about the countless number of times I heard even a 10 sec clip of a song and I'm like "oop. thats kasabian" or get excited when I hear one of MSTRKRFT's various mixes being run on almost each and every commercial out there (see: Motorola and URGE). Which irritates me. Because it just reminds me of how much I could have loved having a job like that. Indie rock futures at my fingertips. More or less having the opportunity to just wander around record stores and local shows to find talent. Must. be. nice. yep.

Then I thought about allllll those OC remixes that bizo has put out. And how I laughed and laughed and laughed at how I had those songs a long time ago already. I think I'm hating. must. stop. Alright so more power to the woman for getting the little guys out there. Because I like the Fray and I like Death Cab. So I guess let us be happy that she made them more accessible for us. Alright- now that I have rambled for two paragraphs about some chick I don't even know. wheeeee.

I didn't really go anywhere too adventurous over break, but I figure- I think I did a lot of adventuring in the younger years to afford some quiet time. N Years was fun with a gathering at the Rahman residence, lots of family friends and their cuzzies and such. Things were a bit dry until I introduced the exciting world of 'Mafia' which we all ended up playing until 2 am.

OH. yeah one more thing:

Bengali Gatherings + New Years Countdown + Fake Champagne + 300some confetti crackers and guns = One very smoky, messy, chaotic 5 minutes.

Aunties and Uncles running around. guns in peoples' faces.
It was traumatizing, not to mention the loads of confetti and stringy, dangly crap all over the ceiling the walls, in everyones' hair and stuck to me- as I swept it up. My dad had a BRIGHT idea to set off the confetti thingers in the house. BUT! it was amusing. So I'm just halfheartedly harping. I enjoyed being able to spend Eid with my family for the first time in two years, as well as do the traditional going to everyones' house thing and getting dolled up. Crazy Aunties are good for your self-esteem because they make you feel like a princess.

New Years Resolution: Run more 5Ks and 10Ks to prepare for the onslaught of Grandma's Half. where I sign my lungs away. yay.

Okaay. Now after that novel. I no update for awhile.
Alhamdulillah for everything,
I am grateful to where I am now and to the places I can only go further to Insha'Allah.

*Please pray for those who aren't as fortunate. Our nightmares remain nightmares and reside on a different plane, but
some people live in that reality. May Allah help all the brothers and sisters in the middle-east. I pray for their peace of mind.*

Salaami.

things replace things, days replace days.

first day of school joy.
well busy I suppose.

after a very restless 4 hours of sleep, woke up at 7 to to party city, get decorations for the welcome dinner.
Which is this saturday, between tabling, student bags, and pulling this together, I feel as though the madness is nice.
it keeps me in line and I work harder.

It's always easier to slack off without any lines and competition.

Classes are going to be insane this year, ochem, cell bio, physics, and misc.

I love our new apartment, its gorgeous and homey. And I finally feel like a home away from home.
I love my roomates and friends and their ability to love me the way they do.

Lastly still extremely amazed at the power of Allah (swt) and what niyyah can really do.
Works wonders.

Love life.
