Unashamed Love

You're calling me to lay aside the worries of my day
To quiet down my busy mind and find a hiding place
Worthy, You are Worthy

I open up my heart and let my spirit worship Yours
I open up my mouth and let a song of praise come forth
Worthy, You are Worthy

Of a child-like faith
And of my honest praise
And of my unashamed love
Of a holy life
And of my sacrifce
And of my unashamed love

one semester left.
where did the time go?

Wednesday, November 28, 2007

so i'm currently preparing my final presentation for one of my senior HD classes. unfortunatly, although i find the topic of Midlife Development extremely interesting, the way the class is taught doesn't do it justice. i don't remember one thing that i've learned from lectures this semester, what a waste.

anyways, my presentation is about how written self-disclosure is beneficial to the psychological well-being of people after a traumatic emotional experience. Previous studies have studied people who wrote blogs before and after the death of their spouse and have shown that written self disclosure has similar long term effects as that of talking to a therapist. Actually, studies done with students show that if you write about emotional topics (such as a failed test) your grades tend to improve. Similarly, for professionals who have recently lost their job, if they write about their problems they attain new jobs more quickly. Interesting, right?

Although I am not currently going through any traumatic emotional experience, I thought I'd share the healing power of writing with you lovely people :)

bottom line: writing is good, chicken soup is good too, but God is better.
