back in the OC...

so... I've been back in the sunny sunny SUNNY swelteringly sunny socal for 3 days now.  and can I just say... I MISS SEATTLE WEATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!  sun sun go away.  gloom gloom come and play.  please?  Thank you!  I'm being quite serious.  this is ridiculous.  Thankfully school has started, so I am very well refrigerated frozen in my CECS labs all day long .  and when I go outside, it is immediate thawing and to regain feeling in my skin.  Though Long Beach is quite wonderfully breezy, especially compared to yorba linda.

Anyways, as I was driving out of my house this morning, I saw one of these...

coyote

mind you... this was at 6:30 this morning.. it was no longer dark.. and people were out taking walks at this hour.. and this happy little coyote decided to take a walk on the sidewalk along Village Center Drive (going the WRONG direction to get to the hills, I might add)... and all of a sudden he darted into the lanes of traffic... and reached my lane about 12 feet ahead of me... to which I, of course being wonderfully alert, SLAMMED on my brakes - causing the car behind me to also SLAM on his (its his fault for following so closely - even though the other lane was WIDE open, by the way), which caused EVERYBODY to look our way... and a split-second after causing such a commotion, the poor scared coyote decided to turn around and dart back to where he came from (probably to terrorize another unsuspecting target).  The good news in all this is (1) the coyote cheerfully went on his merry way on the sidewalk right past many morning walkers, (2) I didn't kill it or even hit it, (3) the tailgating driver behind me very obediently kept his distance from my tail end the rest of the way to the freeway.

what fun what fun.  I didn't know coyotes still existed in Yorba Linda.  the last one I remember seeing was laying dead on the sidewalk in front of my old house (about 1/2 a mile from where I live now)... but that was a good 17 years ago, or so.

yup.  oh well.  day 2 of super exciting school   clap.  clap.  clapclapclap

Today was my last friday at work at Boeing... at least for the next 9 months or so.  And what a fun day it was

I can't believe I'll be leaving to head home in 1 week.  This summer went so quickly.  But there is one more stop before that happens   (hopefully, anyways).  This should be an adventure (hopefully a good one, I've got backup plans to my backup plans.  but there are too many things I don't control, so I can only hope).

We'll see.

Stay tune for pics.  I hope.
