heres a comment i recived from a girl named katie... this is some good stuff

Hi! I'm a babysitter and a mother's helper. I love what your site is all about. I have a couple tips that you can add on to your site if you would like. Here they are.

Tip #1

Create a "Fun Box" and fill it up with some fun things, like coloring books, crayons, and other fun stuff (you can get it all at a dollar store) and bring it to houses whe nyou babysit. At the end of the night, if the kids beaved, then let them pick out 1 small toy to keep.

Tip #2

Go to a hospital near your house and ask about babysitter courses. Alot of hospitals have classes to teach young babysitters how to act in case of an emergency. They have summer and school year courses, and at the end of the last class, you get a card that say you went to courses and now know CPR. It is important to know what to do in case of emergencies. The parents will also feel safer and more trustworthy of you.

Remember: Always ask about if the kids have any allergies. If you feed or give them anything that they are allergic to, it could be fatal.

I Hope These Tips Help!

-xoxo-

HAYY, i haven't typed in a while but here goes some fun,

CRAFTS TO DO TO INTERTAIN THE KIDS

there is this great website where ive gotten some ideas
http://www.kidsturncentral.com/crafts/jenicraftindex.htm

check it out.

some of the one i liked on this site were the paper snakes and the swinging monkeys oo and the happy family. theese things keep kids entertained for HOURS

i like to help the kids make paper bag pupets and scenery then we use somthinglike a table or a theatre stand if they have one to do the PUPET SHOW ON

another fun activity is to put a movie on, set up a tabel and chairs with cards that have the kids names on them. then have them sit and watch the movie and comebck in later with a "menu" full of coices for their drinks and main dishes then take their order and deliver it too them. make sure you keep the drinks in sippy cups even for kids up to the age of 7 because it would be traigic if you ruined the carpet!:S also i let the kids make name tags and fake money and tickets then they sold stuff to each other, were ushers at the front door and used their fake money to "pay" for their meal. everyone had fun including me!

GOT a great babysitting activity or a story good or bad or just a tip, id love to hear it! click the e-mail me link to send one to me and i JUST Might post it!

THX to the subscribers

im juts here to help!!!

BABYSITTING TIPS 1-10: ABSOULTE NO NO'S (i.e. stuff not to do)

1. DON'T LEAVE THE HOUSE A MESS
2. DON'T LET THE KIDS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FREEDOM YOU GIVE THEM
3. DON'T BE AFRAID TO BE THE ENEMY WHEN YOU ARE   ENFORCING RULES
4. DON'T PUT THEM TO BED LATE
5. DON'T LET THE KIDS KNOW THEY ARE ANNYOING YOU, THEY'LL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT.
6. IF YOU MAKE DINNER MAKE SURE YOU WATCH THE KIDS AT THE SAME TIME AND FOLLOW ALL THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY
7. DON'T EAT ALL OF YOUR CLIENTS FOOD
8. DON'T FEEL STUPID ABOUT ASKING IMPORTANT QUESTIONS
9. DON'T INGNORE THE KIDS ENTERTAIN THEM
10. DON'T ONLY DO STUFF YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE THE KIDS ARE ENJOYING THEMSELVES

Babysitting tips: Turning down a babysitting job

1. If a client leaves you a message and you can't do it or it is to late for you to still take the job, don't just ignore be courtious and apologize for not getting the messange sooner or tell them you can't
2. Don't wait last minute to decline a job
3. If you make a commitment to take a babysitting job, don't back down on them last min. if you absolutly have to, recomment someone who you know will be free to replace you.
4. If you cannnot take a job make sure you aplogise and tell them you would love to do it another time (if that is the case) this way they will know you are eager to become their sitter but you just aren't avalible that day.

Babysitting tips: $$

1. don't get mad if they pay less than your nomal rate
2. if people ask how much you usually get paid: keep a consistant rate, don't change it; figure out w/ an adult (mom or dad) what a resonable rate is. make it hourly and make sure the client understands what you mean so therer isn't a misunderstanding.
3. if you don't have a rate, be thankfull for anything you are given.

Babysitting tips: getting regular clients and keeping them

1. make sure the kids have fun, if they hate you you probably won't be called to babysit them again
2. be polite
3. clean up after yourself and the kids
4. be resonable
5. follow ALL of the rules you are given by the adult

Babysitting tips: getting the kids to like YOU

1. bring toys or games from home (sometimes kids get tired of thier toys and are eager for something new)
2. maybe bring a treat to reward good behavior or to bribe with
3. bring crafts or activities
4. be willing to play with them (you can rest once they are asleep)
5. don't sit around and make them entertain themselves, (they might still like you if you do this but if they have lots of fun, they will ask for you to come back)

Babysitting tips: SAFTY

1. don't let small kids/todlers play with anything that will fit inside a tolit paper roll
2. only feed babies small spoon fulls at a time
3. don't force food into thier mouths
4. VERY small babies head should be held up while holding them
5. don't let kids play outside or inside unattended
6. avoid playing in the frontyard, try sticking to fenced in areas so there are limits to where they can go
7. know the cell phone number or nimber of the place the adults will be so you can call them if needed.
8. know how to work the phone
9. know of someone who lives near by so you can call for help if needed.

This is all i am typing today. everyonce and i while i will add to this!
