Saturday, well, here it is a new day! I've called the plumber, as the toilet needs new inerds!Bruce went outside and cut down a lot of  unwanted shrubs, vines, etc.I planted all the seeds we had saved:bunches of avocadoes, and 2 peach seeds! Then,I cleaned the Ac filters.....Bruce went to the hardware store to buy some more neon light bulbs for house and garage. He also got me some more sewing needles! I have been mending, one of my favorite things to do,it seems to settle me down somehow.Bruce had to go back to store,as I didn't tell him we had two bulbs upstairs in the bathroom. We had some discussion about my not thinking.Mia  culpa! What else can i say,I was on another wave length.....does anyone else have trouble getting on the same page as their spouse??Would like any helpful suggestions(not anything like divorce or suicide, please). So,we're beginning to pack for the road trip to Kansas City,I'm taking prayer requests,as I'll be going to IHOP(International  house of Prayer) on some days. This is the annual KFest(a gathering of some of the original apple user group. They have classes and demonstrations and give aways and sales.....more fun, because our house gets cleaner by the trip! When we leave,we will be so laden down,we'll look like a band of gypsies!  I like to go because it's an opportunity to touch base with people that I never would otherwise.(not because I'm anti-social,but because they are from miles away in other states....also have different interests). However, last year i discovered that one of the men there makes some awesome Celtic knot earrings.I had him try to teach me...actually i made a few pair because of his excellent tools that he has designed for just such a purpose). So,I'll try some more this year! I still have to pack my clothes for the week. Please pray for traveling mercies for us and for rain for Kansas City!

  • Cross Currents

July13, 2008,Sunday,....here it is the last of the 8 weeks of Cross Currents.Where has the time gone to???Am I glad that I went,YES!!!Do I recomend it to others at Vineyard Church and other churches,YES!!Why, you ask....I'm so glad.....because it gives you a chance" to get your feet wet",so to speak, in God's healing abilities.Something is wrong with that sentence, but hope you know what I mean.As some of you know, one of my most exciting moments, apart from being saved, was discovering that God had a plan for healing us too!!!AWESOME!!!That was about 1972 or 1973 and I still get so excited when I realize that the God who created the universe, not only loves me in an abstract way....but He has plans to heal all the hurts that I've sustained(that's quite a few)!!!Well, one of the ways He goes about it is a course called"Cross Currents"(offered at the Vineyard Church in Houston,TX.!!!!!Like Alpha, the course lasts only 8 weeks....and you end up with the beginning of the healing.....Now,do you dare to go on???If you do,call the church and talk to Rita to see if you qualify and then fill out the forms and take the interview(yes, there is an interview)! We'll be taking forms for registration until the end of the month...then on Aug.3 and 10th,we'll be having interviews. When I took it,I used to laugh and say that they found out I had enough sin,I was in!!Anyhow,a few years later,I'm one of the broken people assisting in the small groups. At Vineyard,we believe that you will have an opportunity to continue your healing for the rest of your life.Well, hope to see you-all at Living Waters this September(that's when it starts). It will continue for 26 weeks!!!!!!!But,oh,what wonderful weeks they are.Come and see!!

  • Tuesday

Well,Got all the clothes washed and dried, some are put away. Now,i get to do the hanging on hangers, etc.   Today, the contractor,John comes to give us a bid for painting the apt.I'm hoping all will be well and that he can paint while we are gone to K.C.     Oh,yes, forgot to mention that we are going to the annual KFest at Springhurst University in Kansas City. This is  gathering of all the folks who still have apple computer! They are the" pioneer" nerds of computer science. We'll be there for about a week, then on to Branson for a few nights.     We're planning a trip to Israel and to Jordan in December to see the sights.I'm so excited to be able to see the land of the prophets  and Israel,God's chosen people......oh,to see the Mount of Olives again, and the Temple Mount, and the wailing wall, and the tomb, and the churches and the sites of miracles long ago....that remind me to still believe today in those same miracles!!        I'm preparing to help at Living Waters,a healing class at our church,I would appreciate your prayers for me while I'm preparing and during the time of the class. This is a class, both DH and I have taken and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not magical, but there's an oportunity to go deeper and repair damages done in the past,by yourself or others. Some other churches call it "Desert Stream"....first set up to deal with situations of people needing help cleaning up the old life ,so they can get on with the new.

  • accident Thursday night

This is for all that saw DH's blog that he had heard a crash when walking, then came down the street and found a large crowd .We have since read online that the SUV(that was upside down)was filled with 4 teen agers.Three had there seat belts on and were okay, only minor scratches, bruises. The other one was flown from the car and died. Not was what my DH saw, interesting......how do facts change in the telling or in the writing. Now there is a little cross where the young man died.It is believed that what they did,was not speeding, not drunken driving, but they ran a stop sign at around 11Pm.They must have seen the woman coming in the small white car and tried to turn quickly, to veer away from a crash, and that must have caused the SUV to turn over. The little white car was relatively unhurt.....just a dent in the front. We're so sorry that this happened.Keep the families in your prayers.

  • Saturday Evening with Bakers

Saturday Dinner we went to Los Cucos Mexican Restaurant at Clay and Highway 6.We met the Bakers there(Kevin,Fannie and their children:Kevin and Aliana. We had a wonderful meal and then Fannie and I took little Kevin to play outside on the climbing area.He was happy climbing, then he noticed that the other children were playing with a slide. He went there once or twice, seemed scared and then he conquered his fear and went down...I was at the bottom waiting for him...he was laughing. This was a big step for him as he is only 16 months old! That was the bigger, enclosed slide!!  Then,we tried him on the smaller slide and again,I was at the bottom...he came out laughing again. Then he saw a larger child climb up the slide,of course, he had to try that!He could get part way up...really gave his arms a work out, reminded me of Kevin!   When we wnt back and reported all to Kevin and Bruce,Kevin was disappointed that he didn't get to see him...so we all traipsed over again and little Kevin went at it again...more fun!  I'll bet he sleeps tonight!!
