 Regionals

Wow. This year has been filled with so much joy and so many tears.

First, congratulations so much to John & Betsy, Jacob & Kate, Alyssa & Beka, Courtney & Mary Beth, Katie and Noah, Zak and Emilie. All of you were awesome this year and it is going to be great working with you soon ; )

Second, tons of thanks goes to my partner, Gregory Escobar. No, the year isn’t over, but I still need to say something. Wow, at the end of last season I didn’t know what was to become of me!! My splendalicious sister was going to leave me for college. Praise God, Gregory and I decided to partner. After debating more than 75 rounds this season with him I can officially say that I’ve learned tons from him: from debate theory to speaking skills to being humble to seeing more important things than winning. He is an amazing debater and person—we qualified mostly because of him. Gregory, I have really enjoyed this year. A lot. A whole lot.

Third, regionals is always the happiest and saddest tournament of the year. Being excited for friends while at the same time disappointed with others. So many teams deserved to go to nationals this year—one team in particular that stands out is the team of Green/Green. Going 11-1 in prelims at Pt. Loma and Houston combined, getting 10th and 9th place respectively, and Emily getting top 10 speaker awards at each, this team was amazing against the top teams in the country. They were just as solid in Region 9 tournaments. Wow…I really don’t know what to say. Let’s just say I cried a whole darn lot. God has a plan. J

Here's to the nights we felt alive
Here's to the tears you knew you'd cry
Here's to goodbye
Tomorrow's gonna come too soon

Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live

God is amazing.

Hallelujah, grace like rain falls down on me

When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing Your praise
Than when we first begun
