Welcome Baby Breanna!

I had the wonderful privilege of being in the delivery room to welcome Amanda's baby, Breanna Jannette into the world last week ! I have spent a few nights of the feeding, changing, sleeping rotation and have fallen in love with this precious baby girl! I call her floppy because it is so cute how she just flops around with her little soft arms and legs and head and fingers..oh I could go on! Mommy and baby are doing great and I am having a blast being "Aunt Jamie" helping out when needed. Don't you think she is cute? She looks like Amanda!

Weird Customs

Has anyone ever really thought about the oddity of our custom of personal showers before a friend is married? It is just kind of crazy when you think about it? Well tonight we had Denise's shower followed by her bachelorette party with the bridal party and old friends. It was so much fun. She got tons of presents and then it was on to the fun time at a place called Spike's in Dallas. It was a lot of fun because Jennifer planned all kinds of great "dares" for Denise to do, my favorite of which was her asking a guy at the bar for his number for her "friend" Missy! How funny was that! Another dare was to go and take a picture of the men's urinal...luckily no men were in there. We all dressed in Pink and the restaurant even arranged some special pink virgin fruit juice drinks for us! Now the wedding is two days away, and i can hardly wait!

Friends from Houston make Dallas a special place.

First Day of School

So I experienced the weird feeling of the first day of school today. Picking out the right clothes...standing in line to get an ID...wandering around campus trying to find my class...meeting a new teacher and reading the syllabus! I started Graduate School today!

I am glad this time has finally come. I am going to UTA to study Non-profit Management. I think I am going to like grad school. For one there are no rules in the Sylabus like a certain school I just graduated from, of which the professors read to us at the beginning of every class every year. Also, the study seems so practical with what I am doing. It is time to take the dreams in my head and see them come to fruition and to do that it takes knowing a thing or two about business. For some reason foundations aren't interested in funding me just because I am passionate :) They seem to want a little more to it and I am wanting to make sure that one day my ministray is administrated with utmost integrity and excellence. So often the church (little c) is always behind the secular world. We do this in business also and it shows in our prductivity. So here I go a little study and hopefully I will be able to serve the faith based nonprofit comunity to see the money and programs devleoped to their fullest potential.

Fine Arts

Tomorrow morning I am off to Fine Arts 2006 in Orlando, FL. I am adjudicating the solo human video division. It is what I competed in when I was a student back in the days. After a few days of judging I am super excited to get to go to DISNEY WORLD! Angie is flying down to Mickey Land to spend a couple days in the happiest place on earth with me which I am so grateful for. I'll try to take some pics and let you guys know how it goes...Maybe I'll see Jack at the Pirates of the Carribean ride.

Dallas AIM '06 Round TWO

We finished up our second AIM trips. We had four youth groups from Enid, OK, Versailles, MO, Princeton, TX, and Mountain Home, AR. We had a fun time doing children's ministry, feeding the homeless, and pulling lots and lots of weeds. I mostly had fun just keeping all of the plates spinning which is what I seem to love best these days. Now maybe things will slow down a bit that the trips are over...yah right!

Dallas AIM '06

Well, round one of summer AIM trips are under my belt. This past week we had 49 come from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Austin (Leander), and Dallas for our non-stop week of outreach to Dallas. We worked with 7 different ministries from all different denominations, which is something I love. If we are going to reach the city, we have to work together right? Well, the week went off well with only the minor hitches. I went to sleep at 4 on Friday and 5 on Saturday in the morning. (Thank you Leander youth group :) ) Let's just say I enjoyed sleeping in Monday and watching a couple movies to rest from the week. Every time we have these trips I am reminded why I do what I do and I love the opportunity to do a crammed week full of intense outreach along with pouring my passion for missions into the lives of young moldable teenagers. 1 John 3:18 Holla!

Wedding Fun

Well I have been wanting to show wedding pictures but no one in my family seems to have pictures. It will be about another 5 weeks until I have picturesfrom the photographers. I did find these two pictures today on my camera that I took getting ready for the wedding. I don't really like them because Becky and I look really white in them which we weren't so much in realy life, but that said here is my beautiful sister on her wedding day.
