Christmas Eve in Hong Kong (Elsie's B-day)

I spent this christmas eve in WanChai at a karaoke louge called PentHouse.  The Penthouse turned out to be very nice with a great harbor view of Kowloon Pennisula.  I have to make this entry short this time because I need to squeeze in a 2-hour workout today before I head to the airport for my 4-days trip to Osaka, Japan!!!

Elsie's birthday is December 25th!  Maggie threw the big three-O b-day party for her on the 24th.  Here are some pictures:

Christmas in Hong Kong

It has been over 2 months since I wrote an entry in Xanga... A lot has happened since mid-October.  For one, we have launched our services in Singapore in November.  Since our launch, there has been no shortages of work and continuous development to make our product better for our customers.

I moved out from my parents place in the New Territories into a small 400-sq ft apartment in Hong Kong - the Sai Ying Poon area.  It is small, but it's perfect for me.  The kitchen is very good and I have already made about 6 meals there since I moved in during early November.  Besides working each day, I go out about 2-3 times a week with friends.  It's fun in the beginning, but now it's less and less appealing.

Here are some pictures from my birthday party

There are more pictures I want to and HAVE to share with you guys including pictures of my flat.  I will do so this weekend.  I hope that with the holidays just around the corner, I will have a little more free time to decorate the place and take pictures to show you guys.

For Isaac - I REALLY MISS YOU!  I saw your entry the other day - happy that you got through all of your finals at Yale last week.  Good luck on the last paper!

Arthur (in seattle) - I really need to keep you posted on more of what's happening in HK ... my bad!

BGW - Welcome to XANGA!  Take pictures of Anna-B for me!  I miss you two!!

Life in Hong Kong

After a little more than 3 weeks in Hong Kong, it is starting to feel more and more like HOME.  We got an office last week - a serviced office, so we get cleaners, coffees & teas, receptionist - you name it.  Although it is a small place, I love working there.  It has no distractions (except periodic IM messages from my friends...) so that I can be more productive with my time.

The inside of our 2-man office - don't let the mess fool you, that was my first day in the office!

Aside from work, I went to KaiPing (near JiangMen) in China last weekend, here are some pictures...

I also spent some time with Sheena and baby John each weekend - we usually have lunch or dinner at least once or twice each weekend with Dad.  I'll upload those pictures next time, they are still on my phone!

My productivity has definitely DROPPED since my move.  But it has slowly (but surely) creeped back up - I want to make this coming week even more productive as we are (finally) launching our service in Singapore!!

Hong Kong Hong Kong

I arrived HK last friday night - my flight delayed for 20 hours so I went back home last thursday after sitting on the plane for 4 hours on the gound ... Anyway, I was glad that happened because as I was sitting on the plane, I regretted not eating another bowl of my mom's homemade Shark Fin Soup.  Yum Yum - so that night, I went home and had another BIG bowl.

It is a little wierd to be back in Hong Kong.  This time I actually have to take the time to unpack my luggages and truly settle into the tiny apartment in HK.  I have had some interesting encounters in HK so far - being called "nearly obese" at the gym for example reminded me that I am back in the city where beauty really is skin deep, or bone deep?  I am not sure which is more accurate since all women should be a size 0.  At the end of the session, I refused to hire a personal trainer at the gym and that was that.

I had a really good weekend with Sebastian  We spent a lot of time together - we had really really good eel on Saturday night.  Then we went to Lama Island for a BBQ on Sunday.

I went to check out some office yesterday.  I really like Lee Gardens at Causeway Bay.  Most likely we will end up leasing a space there.  I'm not so sure about Central.  I don't think we need to be here because it's mostly fit for financial institutions.

Hey, I'm running out of time!  I'm sitting at a coffee shop and time is running out!!  More to come...

Final Days in Seattle

It has been too long since I wrote an entry on Xanga ... Almost forgot my password.   So much has happened in the last 7 weeks (eck! almost two months!) I am now 6 days away from my flight back to Hong Kong!  Very excited, but I have been so busy each day that I rarely have time to feel the excitment.

I made a promise with Isaac this week that we will each try to write an entry per week to keep each other up to date with what's happening in our lifes.  I decided to start first (I still haven't seen an entry from you, Isaac...) to set a good example.  I hope you will tell me how things are going at Yale, upload some pictures of your dorm room, etc.  I will definitely be posting more pictures of my life in Hong Kong in the coming months.

I finally sold my car this week. The couple who's getting my car got a great deal!  Which means not such a good deal for me.  But oh well, you live once and you learn.  Although I am still unsure of what is my lesson from this experience.  Hm...

What else is happening...well, business is chucking along!  We finally got our bank's approval for a Merchant account.  We went through a rigourous due diligence process, background checks, etc.  Now we are on our way to integrate the new credit card payment processing platform.  Before we know it, we will be a revenue generating company!
