  • I had a lot of fun today.  We went up to Quartz Mountain park and had a picnic.  The boys and Austin went swimming in the lake.  It was a nice afternoon.  Not too hot and not too cold.  Then we came home and cleaned.

  • Busy week.  I was at Senior camp, not as a delegate.  Althought if Jayne was called a grandma and I was asked if I was her mother, I must be old enough.  I lost my voice at camp and then came home for our corps dedication.  We had a parade and the band was great.  We had about 40 in the parade.  We had about 90 at the dedication and about 40 stayed for the refreshments.

Then on Sunday we had Captain Roni Robbins as our guest.  We asked Roni months ago not knowing I would be voiceless and Ron would be sick.  God is good.  We had a small group for church but it was good.  Then today we had Home League and had five.  At 6:30 we had our first night of Wii bowling.  We had ten people.  This is our Women's outreach and Men fellowship.  Our top bowler was Colton.  He bowled 504 in two games.  He is a sore winner.  Ron was second at 503.  Colton thinks he is winning but it is by teams.  He may be the top scorer but our team has number 2, 3, 5, & 6, so our team is ahead.  Everyone is having a great time with it.

  • Addition, Ron is now in Macomb, Mississippi.  Please keep him and the others serving as well as the victims of the huricane in your prayers.
  • Today was a day to myself.  I stayed home and did a little cleanning and a little laundry.  But, mostly I rested.   It was a good day.  I also ordered a guitar and how to play dvds from HSN.  They came today.  The guitar is beautiful.  Now I just have to learn to play.  I got it tuned and practiced my scales.  When I get comfortable with those movements, I will learn some chords and start trying to play.  I figure I can learn a song or two by the end of the month.  I am excited.  I bought this as an early birthday present.  My birthday is still two months away but I wanted it.

  • Just another uneventful week, until today.  We decided to take the day off and slept in.  Well Ron slept in and I took the boys to school and then went back to bed.  We get up and are sitting in the living room, when the police scanners annouces larceny at The Salvation Army 1100 N Park Lane.  We got dressed and went down to the corps.  It was out our building but was not our property.  The church we are sharing facilities with had the window broken in the church van.  A man that lives in the neighborhood was released from the state hospital and had a bad day and broke their window.  They said they have a problems with him before in the neighborhood.  The police were not aware he was out of the hospital.  The man is not all there.  This was the first time he had broken anything.  I'm glad we had the van at the house last night.

Ron is off tomorrow for Ft. Smith in anticipation of the evacuees coming to Ft. Chaffee.  I'm not sure who else has been called in.  I feel sorry of these people, but only a little.  They choose to live there.  I hope the states are more prepared this time around.  I also hope the storm won't be as strong as they are predicting.  Ron will miss out on our Labor Day barbecue.  I bought ribs.  Wyatt and I will eat his share.
