| Man...its been a bad week so far and its only Tuesday.. o_0
The good news is that today is the last day I have to take my antibiotics...and we all know what that means. I think I'm going out for happy hour tomorrow night and will be getting a few drinks.. I really think I need it. It's about time I don't think about work and my personal life and try to relax. I tend to think too much when good or bad things happen to me. And when too many things happen at the same time, it gets overwhelming and I really need to just stop. I need to find a place i can go to relax. You know...like in movies when people always go to the same place to think and relax...like somewhere scenic that overlooks the city or something...haha..one of those!

| First off, this new Xanga format is a little confusing. I don't really like it.
Anyways, so I had a crazy week.....both good and bad.
On Tuesday, my car hydroplaned as I was going onto the freeway and it was pretty crazy. It lasted about 10 seconds but I felt like everything was going in slow motion. The back end of my car swerved to the side and then when I tried correcting it, it ended up swerving to the other side. Luckily, I managed to get it under control as I was merging onto the freeway. Whew!
On Wednesday, I had to present in front of 70 people including managers and directors from different groups for my portion of the project at work. I've been working the past few weekends preparing for this presentation and I ended up doing pretty well. I had a 40 slide presentation and preparing for the presentation almost felt like preparing for my thesis in grad school all over again.
On Thursday, I ended up getting an award for all the work I did on the project I presented. The award came with a fat bonus and it was awesome.
<This next part is sorta gross>
On Friday, I decided to make an appointment with my doctor because I had a bump on my big toe for about 4 weeks and didn't know what it was. At first, I thought it was just a blister but it started to get bigger and actually hurt when I touched it. Anyways, I went to the doctor and he basically told me I had to get minor surgery on my toe because it was infected. Man, I didn't know I needed surgery! I thought he was just going to give me some medication. And I was planning to go out Friday night too! So I asked him, "Will I still be able to walk, drink alcohol, and possibly dance?" haha...he laughed and looked at me and basically said, walk "yes", drink "Maybe", and dancing..."no!". GREAT!!! Either way, I had to get it done so I told him I was ready. So, he took out this machine with a long metal thing and I see him push the up button to level 3. The nurse comes in and rolls over a vacuum like thing with a long hose. The doctor then injected some anesthesia and my big toe went totally numb. The next thing I know, I see him turn on the machine with the long metal thing and I can't really see whats going on until I looked up and saw smoke. Yes, apparently, the long metal thing was a laser and he was cutting the bump off my toe!! It was the craziest thing. Afterwards, he said the area was bigger than he thought and that I had to take antibiotics for 10 days and also soak my foot in an antiseptic water bath for 2 times a day. The BAD news...no drinking during the entire time!!! So I left with gauze and and my big toe completely wrapped up and with my big toe still numb. It was a good thing my toe was still numb because I had to force my bandaged foot back into my shoe so I could drive home. =T
Anyways, I ended up toughing it out later that night and decided to go out anyways wearing sandals. I decided to take the antibiotics starting Saturday so I could still drink for one more night. =P
But yes, as of right now, I have to take antibiotics for 10 straight days which means no Alcohol for that time period. Sucks! Taking a shower this morning was a pain too....try taking a shower while standing on one leg and with your other leg out past the shower curtains... I think my calf muscles are going to be huge after this ordeal! I'm starting to hate the month of February. Something bad always happens to me...its really weird.
This was a crazy week and this toe thing totally messed up my weekend plans. Looks like I'll be staying home for the next week or so. =(

First Dan Haren and now Nick Swisher...
The A's are going to suck next year. These prospects better be good in the future.

| I survived the first big lay off I've ever been in.
Abbott Vascular just laid off around 30% of its employees today. Over 1300 people are now w/o jobs...its crazy.
What's worse is to see some of the people you've worked closely with affected by this lay off.
It's a sad day...
