Photo. assig.: water

My next Photography assignment was on water.

You can probably guess where this is.

I thought this would get "picture of the day," but it didn't.  Maybe if I zoomed in on the water falling instead of that and the wooden block it might have.

Currently Reading
A Farewell To Arms
By Ernest Hemingway

photo assig.: flash/non flash

On my next assignment, I had to take a picture of anything with the flash on and the flash off.  I also had to be max. 6 ft away from the subject or else it wouldn't work.

img_1876

Here is the non-flash.  The shadows of the rail are extremely dark, Mark's face, background, clothes and hair are darker.

img_1877

Here is the flash.  The shadows are lighter and less noticeable.  Mark's clothes, background, etc. are lighter.  Plus the lines on his face are less noticeable.

So if you want to take a picture of an old person or someone having a midlife crises who's self-conscious about their age, use flash instead.

I recommend "A Farewell To Arms" to anybody.  It's about WWI and there's war parts. people get blown up killed, operated on, etc., so guys would like it.

But the main character, a Lieutenant falls in love with a nurse and there's some romantic scenes, like they dance in the snow. so it's a chick book as well.

photo. class: action photography

My next assignment was on action photography.  I had to take 2 pictures: panned and freezing.

img_1907 This is frozen.  You can see that Mark is "frozen" or kind of paused as he's running.

(look at that woman's face on the right. ha-ha-ha!)

img_1905 This is panned.  You can see movement and blurriness as he's running around to show motion.

photo class: feet

I got my computer mishaps fixed up, so I can upload pics from my camera.  I deleted some of my earlier assignments from my camera, so I'll post those I have. Also, if you want to see more, get a Facebook or look on there.

My next Photography assignment was on "feet."  The feet below are mine.  I got the idea from a picture in a Sunday School lesson book. There's no story or anything behind this. I just plain didn't want to do this assignment since I hate taking pictures of feet (even my own) and this was the only thing I could think of.

img_1916

Needless to say, this was the most uncomfortable Photo. assignments I've had to do. the handcuffs hurt like crazy.

Taking pictures of feet is probably what it's like to take nude pictures. On one hand, it's a work of art. On the other hand, you're really going to have to watch yourself (if you take the pic and/or viewing the pic). Plus it makes you and/or the other person uncomfortable.

I HAVE NOT NOR WILL EVER TAKE NUDE PICTURES! THAT WAS JUST SOME INSIGHT!

In other news, my brother got married in Austin Sunday and went to that.

I'm not sure if I should hug him or slap him.

My brother is a non-religious, idiotic version of me. he might be doing something stupid. Plus I'm not sure about my new sister-in-law. She's nice and all but she might make things worse from stories I've heard about her.

Then again maybe this is proof he's finally grown up. Maybe he's not as idiotic as I thought he was. He hasn't been doing anything stupid lately.

But what do I know? Maybe I'll use my hands to pray instead.

photo class: reflection & kiosk

If some of you don't know I took another photo. class this semester and I'll post my pics on here. I also posted extras on Facebook, so look there or get a Facebook if you want to see more.

I apoligize for the quality of these pics. my camera malfunctioned so I can't upload pics. so I scanned them.

The first assignment was where we had to take a picture and play with the special effects on the photo kiosks in stores.

kiosk

BJ is so stupid, he puts peanut butter on his nose instead of eating it.

Our second assignment was on "reflection."
