| Veteran's Bill of RightsArticle IThe Right to Understand BenefitsVeterans have the right to comprehensive and accurate information about pay, benefits, and health care that is easily understood. This right is assured regardless of what organization is providing the benefits — federal, state, or local.
Article IIThe Right to Use BenefitsVeterans have the right of ready access to all of the benefits for which they are entitled. Veterans with physical or mental disabilities or those who simply don't understand "the red tape" surrounding benefits must be provided assistance that will allow them ready access.
Article IIIThe Right to a Good JobVeterans have the right to jobs commensurate with the skills and experiences gained in the military. Veterans must have access to tools that will allow them to create resumes that properly translate their military skills into civilian skills and language. They also have the right to understand all of their options surrounding federal employment and veteran preference. At the same time, employers, especially veteran employers, have the responsibility of understanding the advantages that veteran employees bring to the marketplace.
Article IVThe Right to Keep That JobVeterans have the right to serve in the nation's National Guard and Reserve forces with the confidence that if they must leave their civilian jobs for extended periods they will be protected. Both veterans and their employers should understand USERRA and what the law requires in terms of veteran employment and re-employment rights.
Article VThe Right to Treatment For Service-Related IllnessVeterans have the right to health care for any service-related illnesses, be they physical or mental. Further, veterans have the right to the best medical care the government can provide.
Article VIThe Right to Respect and NondiscriminationAs a result of demonstrated patriotism and the selfless desire to protect our way of life, veterans have the right to respect and nondiscriminatory treatment from all Americans and organizations both public and private.
Article VIIThe Right to Identity ProtectionVeterans have the right to trust that government organizations that possess personal data will safeguard that data.
Article VIIIThe Right to EducationVeterans have earned the right to pursue dreams through education. Organizations charged with facilitating a veteran's use of GI Bill benefits must be responsive. Places of higher education must also give veterans appropriate consideration and treatment.
Article IXThe Right to CommunityVeterans have earned their place among veterans and can depend on the veteran community to keep them informed, empowered, and enabled with respect to the issues articulated in Articles I through VIII. For its part, Military.com pledges to continue as the forum for these activities.

| This is from an interview with John Stott who is an old evangelical writer. I've used some of his material when writing papers before. I really like the other guy's statement. Very bottom line. The essence of evangelicalism is very humbling. You have William Temple saying, "The only thing of my very own which I contribute to redemption is the sin from which I need to be redeemed." | | |
| umm....so i'm having some difficulty deciding on what to do about seminary. Do i apply to just one or 2??? it'll be Southern and Southwestern...or just southwestern. Neither of us have been to Louisville (sp?) and i don't know anything about that area as opposed to SW, where i lived in Keller for 9 years, know people, love TX, by rebo's family which might be good for her when i do long trainings, she has many grad schools to pick from, Anna is only 4 hrs away in college which is Rebo's Alma Mater, and a $35 appl. fee, and time doing research and paperwork for Southern....
So the question is....do we even apply and close the door to Southern before we know if we should go there or not???? or apply and go through all of the looking??? We (rebo and I) would appreciate much prayer and thought, and response into these huge decisions we have on our shoulders.
Also, what if for some weird reason I don't get accepted to SW???? then might be in a pickle but don't really think so...cuz i should have time to apply to other places... either way...pray, thanks!
may the Lord bless you for your faithfulness and love.
| Well....since i haven't posted in forever, i decided i would today.
so much has happend since i've posted so i will try to touch on the highlights.
I went to AT (annual training) with my National Guard unit at Ft. Chaffee. I was treated like a Lt. and got to see a lot of the officer side of things. So that was good....
then a week with BIG OLE' REBO in Okc and planned a bunch of our wedding stuff...yippee!!!....then..i headed off to LDAC!
in washington state, i did a 33 day ROTC advanced course which was pretty boring since i had been through BASIC and train with an Infantry unit....so yea....highlights from there.. I went in with a minitry mindset. I became known as 'Chaplain, Chappy, or Father for the catholics.' People asked me questions all the time and at the most random times. I was reading my Bible outloud during some down time one day and before i knew it i had read 5 chapters of Isaiah to 8 people. That was pretty cool. Another cool time was towards the end when we were marching and had beaten all of the cadences to death and weren't singing anything...so...i started singing my favorite song ever...Come All Ye Faithful...and the whole PLATOON started singing 3 verses!!! it was cool and funny all at the same time. Praise be to God.
Now, I'm in San Marcos interning under Brian Guenther at the River-Stone Community Church. I'm learning what happens behind the scenes of a church. I haven't gotten to experience that before so this is good. Plus, i'm getting to help out the church and evangelize to the city.
I got to Rebo and her family and billion friends from the Woodlands for 5 days. That was cool and fun. I met a bunch of people and had some good times. We went to the Body Works 3 museum which was sweet and i recommend it to anyone that can go. We also went to Galveston which i don't recommend if you are looking for a beach. The water is brown, there is seaweed everywhere, it smells like salt and dead fish. Gross place!
so yea....there is a post for all of ya'll. I'll try to keep them more updated so you don't get hit with such a long one. later
| I found out that I might have a chance at going to RANGER school next summer!!! man, that would be crazy tough training but what an adventure. Being in the woods with not much and living off one meal a day, worms, small animals, whatever! we'll see if i can get a slot. I think it would be good to be a RANGER Chaplain! HOOAH!
days till married: around 230 !! WOOHOO
ohh, i'm buying my first gun today....crazy. it's just a .22
