i always find it strange how the speed of time seems to change. like right now time is going at a relatively moderate pace as opposed to before christmas when is seemed to move at a snail's speed.

calgary is still cold and white.

i'm taking two courses at a local bible college. i'm enjoying every insight from the old testament and the mouth of mr. mealey.

my humble home has turned out to be my sanctuary. i love living on my own despite the cold.

i'm planning on taking a trip to europe to visit adam and the part of europe i haven't yet seen.

and this is all that time has changed since december (with exception to calgary being cold white).

oh dear friends. what a lovely time of year this is.

i've joined the ranks of kristen and her camera to document every special moment in life. yes, that's right. i got a camera! hoorah!

jordan arrived on the 24th of december. we attended a lovely french mass as a family. unfortunately hunger ravished our souls so we left early and settled down to a lovely family christmas without our dear adam. oh how we missed him.

montreal is lovely. it reminds me of paris except with more english and less people.

we've been keeping ourselves busy with eating and shopping and exploring. tonight randall and i will attend a concert at the spectrum. the dears are playing with harvee. i am greatly looking forward to it. tomorrow the rents are throwing a christmas party, so you know what that means! good food and high stress!

better late than never.

thanksgiving is coming up fast, so i decided to devote an entry to some of the things that i am thankful for. so here goes.

1) unicorns. i'm still waiting to see the joy on chris' face when he finally finds his unicorn.

2) pumpkin pie. to this day, the best pumpkin pie i ever ate was that one that hanna and i made at the base. seriously. we screwed it up by adding too much water or something, but it was still to die for. oh and that pumpkin cake that kristen and i ate a couple days later. that was pretty delish as well.

3) family. i know it's a cliche, but i think we take family for granted far too often. you only realize it when they move half way across the world (or to the other side of the country for that matter).

4) 1000 text messages. i changed my phone plan and got the big package. i'm pretty much a pro-texter now.

5) sufjan stevens. only a week and a half til i'll see him, LIVE! pretty much so excited.

6) and finally: internet at work. basically i get paid to keep in touch with people. pretty sweet deal to me.

i suppose an update is long overdue.

at the beginning of august a group of guys (jordan, clayton, chris, corey and dave) decided to go to romania to work with a christian camp for a week in september. there were only 6 plane tickets left, and they ended up snatching up 5 of them as they were being sold pretty rapidly. i was really excited for them/slightly jealous and i kept talking about how i really wanted to go. after a few days of this, corey (the leader) said "hey, tomorrow i'll check and see if there's a ticket left and we'll go from there." that night i fleeced the situation to God and told him that if i was supposed to go, then the last ticket would be left and that i would be able to get the time off from work (remembering that i took the whole month of july off). the next day i get the call that the ticket is left and i go in and talk to my boss and there's not a problem. so i buy the ticket.

i'm back in canada now, and looking back i can see that this past week was extremely stretching. i learned a lot and i was pushed a lot, but God did amazing things. i joined the intercession team with dave, and boy oh boy was it intense. we prayed a minimum of 7 hours a day. quite a stretch from my maybe half hour of prayer a week. we really pushed through, but i must confess that at times i felt exhausted and uninspired. i even took a whole day off to rest. what felt like spiritual attack, i soon learned to be my sensitivity to the spiritual realm.

there were many signs and wonders at the camp. one night, the glory of God was so heavy that it was actually seen in the room as a cloud. dave felt an urgency to film the worship, so he ran and got his camera, and there is an actual cloud recorded. some of the people in the room also saw the cloud. unfortunately, i was not at the meeting at the time, but i saw the video and spoke to those who saw it. another day the intercession team was praying intensly, and all of a sudden a sweet fragrance entered the room like nothing i've smelled before. you could smell it only in the center of our prayer circle, and as soon as you put your nose outside the circle, the smell disappeared. i've never experienced anything like this before, but i was truly blown away. how sweet a fragrance is the presence of the holy spirit.

romania has it's own beauty, although a different beauty than i expected.

the camp is over and we're just recooperating from an intense week. it's been both stretching and revitalizing. when i'm back in canada i will explain more.
