| quotes i like. yep.He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his
unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would
never romp again like the mind of God. So he waited, listening
for a moment longer to the tuning-fork that had been struck
upon a star. Then he kissed her. At his lips' touch she blossomed
for him like a flower and the incarnation was complete. The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby is probably my favorite book. I'm a sucker for the hopeless, heartbroken romantic.
She was suddenly roused by the sound of the door-bell, and
her spirits were a little fluttered by the idea of its being
Colonel Fitzwilliam himself, who had once before called late
in the evening, and might now come to inquire particularly after
her. But this idea was soon banished, and her spirits were very
differently affected, when, to her utter amazement, she saw
Mr. Darcy walk into the room. In an hurried manner he immediately
began an inquiry after her health, imputing his visit to a wish
of hearing that she were better. She answered him with cold
civility. He sat down for a few moments, and then getting up,
walked about the room. Elizabeth was surprised, but said not
a word. After a silence of several minutes, he came towards
her in an agitated manner, and thus began:
"In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings
will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently
I admire and love you." Pride and Prejudice
Loss of virtue in a female is irretrievable; that
one false step involves her in endless ruin; that her reputation
is no less brittle than it is beautiful; and that she cannot
be too much guarded in her behaviour towards the undeserving
of the other sex. Pride and Prejudice
Seven times have I despised my soul:
The first time when I saw her being meek that she might attain
height.
The second time when I saw her limping before the crippled.
The third time when she was given to choose between the hard
and the easy, and she chose the easy.
The fourth time when she committed a wrong, and comforted herself
that others also commit wrong.
The fifth time when she forbore for weakness, and attributed
her patience to strength.
The sixth time when she despised the ugliness of a face, and
knew not that it was one of her own masks.
And the seventh time when she sang a song of praise, and deemed
it a virtue. Kahlil Gibran
Carrie:
Have you?
Mr. Big: Have I what?
Carrie: Ever been in love.
Mr Big: Absofuckinglutely.
Sex and the City
All,
everything that I understand, I understand only because I love.
Leo Tolstoy
The
worst prison would be a closed heart.
Pope John Paul II
Let
it be enough for you to have bread and live virtuously and poorly
like Christ, as I do here. I live meanly and don't bother about
life or honor... and I live with the greatest toil and a thousand
worries. It is now about 15 years since I had a happy hour.
Michelangelo
Blessings on your young courage, boy; that’s the way
to the stars. The Aeneid
For
one human being to love another: that is perhaps the most difficult
of our tasks; the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work
for which all other work is but preparation.
Rainer Maria Rilke
There
must be millions of people all over the world who never get
any love letters . . . I could be their leader.
Charlie Brown
I
love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! - and if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
The
true work of art is but a shadow of the divine perfection.
Michelangelo
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and
have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling
cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries,
and all knowledge; and though I have all faith; so that I could
remove mountains; and have not charity, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though
I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth
me nothing.
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity
vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not
easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things,
endureth all things.
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they
shall fail; whether there be tongues; they shall cease; whether
there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in
part shall be done away.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child,
I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish
things.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am
known.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest
of these is charity. 1 Corinthians, 13. 1
The
light of memory, or rather the light that memory lends to things,
is the palest light of all….Just as dreams do, memory makes
me profoundly aware of the unreality, the evanescence of the
world, a fleeting image in the moving water.
Eugene Ionesco
Neither
a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together
go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul
of genius.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Solitude
is the profoundest fact of the human condition. Man is the only
being who knows he is alone.
Octavio Paz
Be
faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength
lies.

| I'm back. Dammit.
I was just thinking about how everyone nowadays thinks everything is okay. Be 'openminded'. Don't be 'judgemental'.
I always thought that when it comes to religion (I know, hitting dangerous ground) that it didn't matter which one you were apart of as long as you believed in God.
Well, I was thinking about it one day and came to the realization; One religion (assuming the existence of God) has to be better than the rest. For instance, I'm Catholic and I believe that the Catholic Church is the one True Church. With saying that, I've been called closed-minded. I don't think it has anything to do with being closed-minded. If you ask a Muslim why he is Muslim they would something similar Or a Protest why he was Protestant. You choose something because you think that it is the best (or, taking a liberal cough, 'best for the individual').
With maturity and knowledge, I think that one must come to the realization that not all things are okay. It's not a matter of hurting someones feelings, but a personal decision however objective it is.
I don't even know if I'm making sense anymore.
It's not that I'm closed-minded, it's just that I have enough balls to actually decide something and I refuse to say that everything is okay.
It's good, when we are young, to believe in this beautiful, free world with equal rights and everybody has the freedom to do whatever they want and we can't say anything about it. But, with age, one should become more conservative (but not in the GW Bush way).
I'm getting freakishly redundant. I hope someone got something I said.
That's it. I'll just go to bed. I'm sorry I suck.

| Women want a lot out of men, but we don't expect them to do any of it.
Maybe I'm old-fashion or just tired and don't know what I'm talking about but there certain things I expect a guy to do. It's not like I expect them to do rocket science (which would be pretty darn cool!) just be a gentlemen.
My list as of right now:
1. Hold the door open. (Pretty basic) 2. Offer to drive. 3. Offer to pay for dinner, but give in if the women 'insist' on paying for herself. 4. Don't talk about really vulgar things or cuss a lot. 5. Offer your jacket if it's cold. 6. Don't put your cars air condition on the lowest it can go. Most women get cold easily. 7. Use your basic manners or as mommy said, 'Mind your P's and Q's'. 8. After a good first date, don't use the lame hard to get crap and just call us. 9. Respect your family, friends, and enemies. 10. Don't drink straight out of the milk carton. 11. Put the seat down, so we don't have to touch it. (I don't care how good you think your aim is!) 12. Apologize if you did something wrong. 13. Be humble. 14. Hang out with the guys and have guy time. It's cute. 15. Pretend to be interested in the stupid girl stuff we talk about and (sorry guys) asking questions is always a plus! It shows you care. 16. Don't be afraid to cry infront of us, but just don't cry all the time. We like to think of you as a guy and not a girlfriend. 17. . . . .
Darn, feminist ruined men the rest of us!
I have no clue and I don't remember why I was doing this.
I let a guy get to me the other day. He asked me why I was unhappy and I've been bothered ever since.
Hm.
Crap! It's already 330 and I told myself I would be in bed by 3. Sigh. Well, it was a cute idea.
Adios!
And Hello! to my new subscribers! How exciting! At least for me. I don't know if it is for you. I'm really not that interesting. Escape. Now. While you still have a chance! No. Don't. I was just kidding. Please don't go. I'm so lonely. Awe.
