wow. it's been a long time since i was on here. all i've done is work and work and work. and wed i have to take my test again for work to become a trainer. drew came over lastnight and hung with ryan and i and that was lots of fun. i also got my v-day present early. (well i payed for it but oh well it all works out. esp when u're sharing money!)

well i have to get up early to work and gas my car and buy some smokes so that's all you get!

I-55 skid kills teen

A 19-year-old woman died early Sunday after her car crashed into an abandoned vehicle on Interstate Highway 55 near Plainfield during a light snowfall, state police said.

Renee Mahrt was pronounced dead at 2:12 a.m. at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, where she was taken following a 10:40 p.m. Saturday accident on I-55 near Illinois Route 126, Illinois State Police Master Sgt. John Rattigan said. Rattigan said Mahrt was from downstate Morton but the Will County coroner's office said she lived in Bloomington.

Light snow was falling as Mahrt drove alone in a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier on northbound I-55. For an unknown reason, she lost control of her car and it began skidding out of control, Rattigan said. The car struck a 1979 Chrysler New Yorker, which had been abandoned on the right shoulder by its owner, Tinley Park resident Brian Holtz, Rattigan said.

Holtz had pulled to the side of the road, activated his hazards lights, and walked to the exit after his car had broken down, Rattigan said. He was not injured in the accident. The car's hazard lights were flashing at the time of the accident, Rattigan said.

There was no evidence that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident, Rattigan said. It was undetermined if she was wearing a seat belt, he added. The road, which was wet at the time of the accident, curves slightly to the right where the accident occurred, he said.
