| wow. i feel like such a slacker, lol. i do have a good excuse tho-- i was very ill last week. i actually missed 2 days of work, and spent a total of 4 days completely bedridden. it was just a really horrible cold, but it still wiped me out-- and what's worse, i have this yucky post-viral tussive syndrome (a.k.a. chest tightness due to bronchial irritation) that requires i use an inhaler for a month. as if that weren't bad enough, i went to an optometrist on saturday and found out why my vision sucks: i have astigmatism! apparently, it's a very expensive vision problem. and while my distance vision is much better, i can't seem to focus on things that are close by... like my computer screen. it hurts to read!
anyway, i made a beautiful lasagna last night. not so healthy, but hey, at least i myself made it, so i know exactly what's in it. and since all i had today were 3 tiny tangerines, i think i'm entitled to a big old blob of my spinach-portabella-pepperoni lasagna tonight.  | | |
| wednesday dinner: mmmmm... currrrrrrrry @ gusto's! yum-o! lotsa beef curry over lotsa rice! croissant, cupcake, sun chips. rootbeer. i pigged out~ it was perfect. 
thursday breakfast: 4 fortune cookies, unsalted trail mix (peanuts, almonds, yogurt chips, raisins & sunflower seeds)

| don-don & i went to crate & barrel yesterday, and i finally bought my much-coveted 12" cast-iron skillet! i also bought a polypropolene cutting board and plastic-ended tongs, ending the long and ridiculous reign of the crappy, useless scissor-tongs. oh! and don-don bought me these groooooovy measuring spoons!

to celebrate our recent skillet acquisition, we decided to use it immediately to make dinner. and what more appropriate meal to cook on an iron skillet than bacon and eggs (scrambled, with onions)! with tuscan bread. oh! aaaand fresh strawberry-banana smoothies with peach nectar & vanilla yogurt! (note to self: gotta make use of that blender more often!)
the best part was, since we worked out before dinner, we didn't feel at all guilty about the bacon, lol. | | |
