Please find above for a picture of platypus TWINS! And this link is the actual article on platypus. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080507/sc_afp/sciencebiologygeneticsplatypus_080507184740 The fact that these animals are "part bird, part reptile and part lactating mammal" is just weird. I'd like to be part bird, part fish and part mammal. I would then be able to fly, maybe LIKE being in the water for once and then take care of my own babies. Yeah... maybe next lifetime. hehe... | | |
| Nicky's going to be six months in a few days. I'm so excited. I updated my profile pic to a more recent one. The first six months was not as tough as people say and I'm told it only gets worst from this point on. =\ | | |
| I'm glad some of you were able to enjoy the pictures from the link I sent last time. Someone gave me a site that had LOTS of pictures but then that site also gave me a virus. So I would not want to share that site here but yeah it's got lots of unphotoshopped images. Thank god I had antivirus. So yeah today what a mess on the roads. I stayed home and worked like crazy since I had tons on my plate. I would have been more unproductive if I had gone to work since the commute on the road would have wasted 4 hours of my time. I don't have many interesting things to say these days. Oh except that I though Microsoft's decision to give away part of their API for free was a good idea. I think if they're able to attract a new young hip generation of high school developers who will use the API to make some cool software then I think they will be able to compete against google in the future. As of it, I see Microsoft's business model dying. I remember that Phillips professor dude back in my college days said all software models are going to be a user-client server over the internet kind of model and I think he was right on as you see google starting up their online doc's software. They're giving it away for free for those with gmail but eventually I think they will charge users very reasonable fees and people will actually pay. Anyway not to say for all of you to go out to buy Google since I saw that the CFO and CEO unloaded lots of shares in the last six months so maybe they even think their stock price is too high for what it's worth. What else is up, I'm taking a class called Intro to Markets at a continuing education program at NYU and it's a great course. I love how the professor is a dynamic thinker. He was saying if McCain wins you can watch defense stocks stay where they are but if Obama wins (he wants to pull out of Iraq in the near future) then stocks like Boeing and other defense stocks will come down. By the way, I love Obama but his statement to pull out of Iraq now scares me. It is a very irresponsible statement. We have to finish what we started or else a lot of innocent lives will be lost. We have to protect the Iraqi people after what we did to them. My husband says I'm too simplistic in my views but I still believe that we went in there for oil. I understand why our nation needs to secure oil because the competition with India and China for oil is going to be tough in the next 50 years. On to happier news Nicky turned five months on 2/16 and that was the same day we went to Lily's baby shower so Sharon took plenty of pictures of him and I especially liked one of them. The caption should read, "You want me to do WHAT?!?" See profile picture and you'll see what I'm talking about. He's pointing at himself you see? =] | | |
| Ahh... Pikachewy... how dare you mock me? =P This is a HUGE deal in Asia. It has shaken the core of the culture. This is like finding the Kuma Sutra in India. You think Indians are conservative, cultured and reserved and you would never in a million years think they practice all those positions in private. Seeing these pictures ruins our images of how Chinese people should behave. In this way this is a story that affects all Chinese in every Continent as it rocks the core of how the Chinese view their culture and themselves. I mean, I've always held myself to a certain standard since I have to live up to 5000 years of glorious history in China. Now this?!?! I am starting to doubt the image of what I had of the Chinese wasn't accurate, that it was a bit more aligned to these images and not clean cut as I thought. By the way, my dad and I have been gossiping every night about this. This has bought us together in a weird way. haha... So MSNBC had a little blog about this and initially posted Jay Chou's picture on the blog. http://worldblog.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/02/14/665099.aspx | | |
