    no kidding

i'm sick...again. but i am so thankful that there is such a thing as medicine.

"well you're just a mess," my doctor told me. no kidding. i've got some kind of viral infection, an ear infection, a very sore throat (i'm on day 10 with this one now), some leftover bronchitis-related cough, and pink eye in both eyes. plus i've already lost my voice twice this week. not exactly helpful when you're doing music with 60 little ones five days a week.

sharing is caring and we care to share in preschool...germs are no exception.

i have to rest up and get better asap because i have to direct the kids' first major program for the new school year. it will be on friday afternoon of next week and there are still lots of loose ends to tie up. this production is especially for grandparents. we're celebrating them by having our annual "Grandparents Tea Party." it's one of my favorite programs because the grandparents LOVE anything their grandchildren do...and it's pretty low-stress compared to our other stuff this year.

so. i need to get to bed already. the meds are lulling me to sleep.

Update: my dad's stolen car was found intact the day after my last post. all the important documents/items were still missing, but at least the car was unscathed. it was found only a few blocks from my house! this situation could have gone from bad to worse, but we're all so relieved it didn't get that far...praise God for His protection.

    more car troubles

well this morning my dad's car was stolen...right from our driveway. his driver's license, wallet, digital camera, etc. were also taken. and i thought this was such a safe neighborhood.

we spent the whole day looking around for it, hoping someone abandoned it somewhere instead of sending it off to a chop shop. but we turned up with nothing.

the person(s) who stole the car also used my dad's cards to fill up at the gas station closest to our house! bunch of idiots. then they tried to make purchases at a shopping center in the next town over. well by then the bank knew and cut off their spending. the police are still trying to follow some leads.

my dad half-jokingly suggested that we take turns keeping an eye on my car tonight, just in case the thieves came back to steal it. which, incidentally, still has that ugly hole in front of it (but the insurance is having it repaired this monday ).

so maybe the whole stakeout thing isn't such a bad idea afterall...
