so last Thursday, i gave in my 2 (and a half) week notice at L'Oreal. in the coming week, i'll be finishing up my lab monkey role soon. booooooo, i'm a little sad b/c i like:

(a) being a monkey
(b) being a monkey in a lab
(c) being a monkey in a lab with a labcoat
(d) being a monkey who applies hair wax that he just made that day! ^^

but seriously, i've decided to move on and for good reason. ^^ the opportunity to work at L'Oreal has been a blessing and a wonderful experience. to have the most wonderful coworkers and very supportive manager and director, it's something i'll always be so thankful for. i'm leaving on very good terms and i would say, on top of my game. ^^ learned much, and i hope i did contribute much too!

next moves:
1) finish up the Bollywood movie, will be going to India in mid October! the producers said Oct 9th, 10th or 11th is the flight to Bombay...!!! soooooooooo exciting!!!!! =D will be there for 6 to 10 days... depending on how well the filming goes.

2) then i'm off to Korea after the movie to watch my favorite cousin get married! the first wedding in my generation in the family!!! i'm sooooo happy for her!!! i need to meet... my cousin-in-law? since she's like a sister to me, her hubbie will be like a brother to me. ^^

3) finalize my potential employment opportunity in Korea during the trip there!

4) return to New York, pack up as much as i can, then say goodbyes and party like crazy in one of the greatest city in the world!! gosh, i'll miss New York City!!! just so awesome here.

5) go to Korea, then begin an Asia tour!! i'm thinking Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, ShangHai? need to figure this out too!

6) finally settle in Korea to begin my new life there... for the next couple of years... to maybe... forever??? hahaha. ^^

well, can't say forever, haha. i've realized my life has been segments of... 3 to 4 years. every couple of years, there have been changes in my life. but that's another post... hehe. ^^

i'm sure an evite or so will be sent out for the goodbyes! if you're in ny or tri-state area, would love to see you to at least say what's up, give a hug, and say best wishes to you and me and everyone before i go!

[ goodbye / biolage jelly / going green ]

\ saying goodbye early \

starting last friday, i started to go around the lab and building to let them know i gave my 2 weeks notice. especially the people whom i have become good friends with over the past ~3 years, i wanted to let them know in person. didnt want to drop the news on them a few days before... hehe. gives us time to chat and talk. =)

due to some work load and meetings getting in the way, the news spread to them before i got to share in person. regardless we had a good chat. ^^ from the short conversation, one friend told me a few things that encouraged me to keep being... happy and positive. ^^

"you've brought alot of happiness here."

simple statements like that mean so much. it's amazing how much words can build a person up, in this case being me. (yeah, as upbeat as i am, i also feed on encouragement ^^) yeah, they say "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me", but the fallacy of that statement can be evident in everyday life. as a person can be teared down by words, so it can also build a person up.

with the personal goal in mind to bring a difference in the world and to... maybe just bring a smile in the day for someone down... sometimes i feel i can't do much. but such wonderful programs like "make a wish foundation" that brings efforts together to grant someone with illness a wish to make them smile even for just one day... it reminds me how much we all seek to be happy.

anyhow, dont want to get too far from the topic... hehe. the point that i realized was... it's great to share a positive feedback with someone. a little compliment here and there... to your friend, coworker, mom and dad... or maybe just someone you met at the store. i think at one point in my life... i did tell my father:
"dad... you know how much kids hate lectures, no matter at what age. but i know you do it because you care... so while i might not react in the best way, i want to let you know i do listen to you... and i do care about what you have to say."

it boosts your fellow man and woman's moral and image. especially continuing to tell a person to do the good they do... because those words of encouragement can be the energy to fuel their efforts for another year... or two... or maybe even forever. ^^

a gel that has physical characteristics of a jelly. it's pretty cool to touch and play with. hehe. and it jiggles like a jelly! haha.

Thought for the Day: There is No end to His Mercy
Reflection for the Day: Don't Forget to Thank Him

Of all the attributes of the Lord perhaps His mercy is the greatest. As we continuously fall short of His will, as well as make mistakes His mercy makes provisions for our errors. It is essential we do not take this for granted, but we remember to thank Him for all His kindness towards us.

As you continue to seek to grow in the Lord you will find yourself in need of His mercy. Although you endeavor to please Him and walk properly before Him, challenges have a way to create areas in need of His mercy. Enjoy your walk with the Lord, appreciate His mercy towards you, and never forget to give Him thanks.

Thoughts: again! the Lord provides again! from the amazing service with praise and worship and sermon from yesterday at Times Square Church~ to the Words from the Good Book~ it expresses exactly how i feel. for GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!! =D and here's A Story That Must Be Told:

POWERFUL Testimony: there was a testimony during the service yesterday. a gentlemen (let's call him Rick) who went thru various families as a child. his parents were both alcoholics, mom and dad. but dad was the one who would go crazy, and be verbally abusive (not sure about physically). mom was the mediator, kept dad away from the kids as much as possible even w/ her own alcohol problems. but she had cancer... and eventually died when this man was 14 yrs old. he walked into her bedroom one day, looked at her and thought of how much he loved her. but when he walked up to the bed... he saw her eyes rolled up and not breathing. called ambulance, and they took her away, etc. when this child and his older brother (3 yrs older, so, 17 yr old brother) came back to their home, the father changed the locks. their dad kicked these two boys Out.

nowhere to go, their uncle took them in. BUT their uncle and aunt had their own problems, drugs. uncle did cocaine and other things. uncle didnt have a steady job... but he stuck up people to make money, so income was not steady. they had 4 kids of their own, whom they almost lost to the government b/c of the neglect. eventually, uncle and aunt turned on these two boys, and they couldnt stay with them anymore either.

again they had to find a place to live, and the older brother knew a lady who was willing to take them in, so, they went there. however, this lady had her problems too, and thru her kids, Rick at the age of 14 or 15 learned about drugs and partying. started to get high and drunk all the time, and sleep around, etc. but this lady whom they lived with... DIED too. so once again, they had to leave this home.

the older brother (at the age of 19 i believe) took upon himself to take care of themselves. took upon a job and got an apartment for themselves. however Rick's life of drugs, alcohol, and partying at that young age didn't stop. however, one day when he was high and drunk, taking the subway home from a party, a guy said "HI, How are you doing?!" with a big smile. =) Rick responded with caution, "yeah, doing ok, ha" and had his skepticism b/c in New York city in the early 90s, you dont trust nobody. haha. but for some strange reason, Rick gave his number to this guy in the subway.

and this subway guy would call him often and invited Rick to come to church. Rick ignored him, and sometimes put him on hold and never went back, hung up on him, etc etc etc. but the guy kept calling here and there. now, one day, Rick got caught selling drugs in school, so he got kicked out. so now his small job serving lunch at school was gone, he's kicked out, so Rick was bummed out. but guess who call him when he got home!!!! the subway dude!!!!

subway guy asked "how's it going???" Rick said "terrible! lost my job, kicked out of school!" and the subway guy just said "oh wow, sorry to hear that, but hey you know JESUS WOULD FIX EVERYTHING." Rick thinking he's got nothing to lose (no job no school etc) decided to go to church w/ this guy. from then on, he went to church, but one day... while Pastor Dave was sharing about how " Jesus is IN this place Right now. if you feel a void in your heart, your soul, Jesus is here right now for you accept Him." etc etc... Rick felt the need... and for the first time in his life realized his sins. first time! before then, nothing was really wrong or right, he just did whatever! but at that point in... 1996? 1997? he repented of his sins and accepted Jesus Christ into his life!!!! AMEN! HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!! =D (the congregation started clapping and the clapping got louder and Louder and LOUDER!!! i was clapping my hands as hard as i could too!!!! this was exciting to hear a story of when One Soul is SAVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

in summary, from alcoholic parents to drug abusing uncle and aunt, death and chaos in their lives in the past... now... the current day Rick... he is now a youth counselor and Leader at the Times Square Church, he has a Job, and is happily Married, and has a wonderful One Year Old Son!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a TESTIMONY of how GREAT our God is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!! I was soooooooo pumped after this service!!!!! it's like a mini-revival everytime i go~!! reminds me of how much Good that God is doing in people's lives!!!! woooooooooooot!!!!!!

John 5:6. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? 7. The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

Thought for the Day: Don't allow Doubt To Take Your faith.

Reflection for the Day: Where Does Doubt Come From?

A man spent thirty-eight years anticipating being healed of his infirmity. Though he began his search with faith, doubt quickly overcame his thoughts. He became so completely discouraged, that when Jesus asked him if he would be made whole he informed the Lord that it was impossible.

Perhaps as this man, you have been attacked by doubt. Where does your doubt come from? This man had to struggle with his extreme condition, an extended period of time, and the shared doubt of those that also waited for their healing. There is no need to accept doubt for God has positioned you to be blessed.

Thoughts: healing comes to us all... even this gash on my forehead... my giant forehead. ^^ and as always... the right scriptures at the right time... haha. God has a sense of humour... providing Words about healing as i gaze at the cut in the morning at work... heh... ^^
