After a 16 month battle, Nicole is finally cancer free. Nicole went home to be with the Lord this afternoon. May she rest safely in the arms of Jesus.

As of this afternoon, the infection is still slowly spreading, but some areas showed signs of improvement. My white blood cell count is .7 (up from .3) and my ANC is .1 !!! (was zero) Now that my counts are starting to come up, my body can fight the infection along with antibiotics. Thank you so much for upholding Rick and me in your prayers. We really appreciate knowing that someone is praying on our behalf around the clock. Please continue to pray for my blood counts and no spread of infection (they may have to take me to surgery if it gets worse tomorrow)

Some of you already know, but I had to go to surgery for the fast spreading infection that developed. I am in a lot of pain, so please pray that they can bring that under control along with the infection. Also, I would not like to have any visitors for now. I'm just not feeling up for it. But I will let you know when I'm feeling better, and would like some company.

Well, my weekend wasn't long boring and uneventful like I was hoping. Guess where I am? Yeah, unfortunately I'm back in the dumb hospital again. And this time I actually have an infection. I think it was just late manifesting itself from the last time I was in. I don't want to talk about it, I would just like your prayers so I'm not stuck in here too long. Thanks.

I got out of the hospital yesterday with all negative cultures so that means no infection! I think my body's used to being admitted into the hospital, so it finds a way to get a fever and bring me there. I am in the clinic today and my counts are still low so I am getting platelets. The Benadryl I took will be taking effect here shortly so before I pass out I better finish posting. Thanks for your prayers and if you would like, say a prayer that I have a boring uneventful weekend at HOME this weekend. Thanks!

I am feeling much better today. Thanks for your prayers. My cultures are all still negative and if they stay that way, I might go home tomorrow. Yay!

aargh....I'm in the hospital again. Last night I got a wonderful fever and landed myself a 3 hour ER visit with an admit afterwards. I didn't get to sleep until 4 am and I slept almost exclusively until 2 pm. That's why I haven't posted til now. Please pray for my counts as they are at an all time low, leaving me exhausted and nauseous most of the time. I am getting 2 untils of blood currently and antibiotics so that should help boost me up. I've also been having trouble eating and I almost threw up the bite of sandwich I tried to take just now. I am very frustrated at this because I don't feel like doing anything at all, and I had to force myself to post. I could use the prayers though. Pray for a great night's rest and I'll be praying for all of you that have to face the nasty roads.

I am home today. Yay I can actually say that this round was not that bad. I am feeling kind of crappy today, and I have to go in to the clinic this afternoon to receive the last dose of chemo for this round. I am really praying for clear scans, which will be scheduled for a couple of weeks from now.

So because I was feeling good in the hospital, I was able to finish my quilt! I'm too lazy to take a picture now and put it on, but I will do that soon. It turned out so good! I was glad to have the opportunity to finish it this week.

I hate to even say this, I don't want to jinx myself, but I have been feeling really good despite the chemo. I have been able to work on my quilt and I can't wait to get it finished! I have the binding pieced together and partially attached. Can't wait to show the finished product! Thanks for you prayers, it's looking like I'm breaking out of this joint tomorrow evening. Well here I am in the hospital waiting to start chemo. I just got word that my chemistries are okay so they are getting my anti-nausea meds together so I can start. I am glad we're getting started at a decent time, but I'm not looking forward to the chemo.

I got my quilt back today! All that's left is to finish the binding around the edges. I'll put a finished product picture on here when it's done. Don't count on getting one any time soon though...I probably won't feel like doing much starting in a couple of hours.

Thanks for your prayers and concern! Hopefully I'll be out of here on Wednesday night and only have to come in for one last IV bag on Thursday. :)
