one year later...

Tuesday, December 02, 2003

two tests i took while attempting to do a bio assignment - one is the usual myers-briggs whatever test, and the other is something i dont know what it measures.

so...

i went to my little bro's xanga for the first time today. um, WHOA. dude, bro, i never knew you! you actually try to think about things besides gaming and anime. i'm still shaking my head in disbelief. oh, and you actually spend time to make philosophical and thought-provoking posts. you are too good to your xanga readers. oh, and it's funny - i know you're funny by listening to you talk like a dumbass, and then i read what you write and it's funny too. because i can imagine you saying what you're writing and making gestures (especially when talking about canned fruit) and it's effin hilarious. thanks, man. i needed that.

that was a shout out from shwu to swu.

so...

the last time i updated this was in the spring. like 7 months ago or something. here are the cliffsnotes in chronological order:

1. end of May: went with team to Nationals in Austin, TX for frisbee. semifinalists after losing to MIT/nancy. taught the team the beaver cheer so we could cheer MIT in the finals.
2. early June: moved into my off-campus housing, started my summer research.
3. summer: lots of early mornings and breakfast on the porch with a good book. read a LOT. practiced with brute squad. went to Wildwood and it was awesome. had an email war with cate brown after she threw ted's books around while she was drunk and had the gall to claim to ted that _i_ had disrespected his books. was given a surprise birthday party with pin the tail on the donkey and an elmo pinata whose head fell off and is now hanging from our ceiling.
4. then school started again. decided i would find a job for next year. kept researching in the lab. dropped all the classes i'd pre-registered for except one. now taking chinese history, religion and its critics, biostat, and evolutionary bio.
5. then fall frisbee started. won purple valley. huck a hunk was good. a weird season. a long story.
6. decided i was going to apply to grad school. big ordeal.
7. east asian culture show and our CSA hip-hop dance was a success.
8. took the GREs. it's almost over now. almost over now.

ok. i think that's most of it. sorry, i'm not good at being philosophical in public. how do you guys find the time to think?!? thebigwang, swuswu, you know who you are.

Better Luck Tomorrow was really good, i recommend it to everyone. and thanks to me, yes, me, and my good work 2 weekends ago, the movie opened in Providence this past weekend! ok, so the thousands of other people who went to see it when it opened April 18th also helped... a little. anyway, go see it! it's funny and thought-provoking, and you can make fun of your friends who did academic decathlon in high school.

i was happy to see leaves on the trees today. and these three squirrels chasing each other around the treetops outside my window are really nutty.

it's the home stretch, finally! still have a presentation and a paper to do before finals start for real.. and then i have 4 of those. <rolls up sleeves> i'm pumped, i'm ready to go.

Krispy Kreme is opening somewhere nearby, and the women's frisbee team (that's me and my girls) are part of the attractions (random, i know - it's a long story)! come let us entertain you while you enjoy some delicious Krispy Kreme donuts on May 13th!

who's ready for reloaded??? 2 weeks, baby!!
