| wow.. This week seems to be hell for everyone.
Thanks to my own damn procrastination, in the last four days i have slept less than 2-3 hours/day, survived off of drinking an average of 3-4 redbulls/day, and have been stressing out like madness. But I've managed to pull a 20 page paper on Target's advertising campaign out of my ass, give a stupid presentation, and write another 52 page research paper. yeah.. 52 pages. I think I'm gonna die now and my eyes are about to pop out of my head... but in three hours I have to give another stupid presentation. i'm most bummed out cause i can't join in BDA's "hell to school and stress" fun. =(
oh but getting to see giraffes this past weekend was totally worth all this stress.
but something i read on Mike Woo's page just cheered me up a lil.. and i think this is what everyone need right now =)
My Cup of Coffee A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, visited their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to hot coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing comparing, perhaps jealously, with each other's cups. Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change. Some times, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it. So, don't let the cups deceive you. enjoy the coffee instead! |
