ok y'all,

leaving for Tonga in just a few more days.  this is probably going to be my last xanga post.... ever.  i doubt i'll be posting on this thing when i'm back from tonga and all grown up (or even if i'm not "grown up"...).

i leave you this awesome website as my parting gift (ok fine i didn't really find it... thanks steve for sending it to me).  i love making fun of fundamentalist extremist christians:

have a good life everyone.

Just in case i missed your email address in my email update.

I got my orientation packet for the Peace Corps deal on Saturday.  I'm leaving on Oct. 31st, exactly 3 weeks from today.  It's coming up a lot faster than I expected but of course I guess I'm forgetting that I've been waiting for this about a year and a half now.

Anyhow, if you want to be included in my email list or want to come to my farewell thingie on the 22nd of October, shoot me an email and let me know.

I'm going to assume that people are tired of me talking about this by now so I will stop writing.  Right now.

sorry about the lack of update.  oh well.

just wanted to say that i am going to be at the Korean Festival in K-town from tomorrow to Sunday if anyone wants to come visit me.  Parking's a bitch and the thing goes from 11am-11pm everyday supposedly (although i probably will only be there about.... 2/3 of the time) but if you come i'll give you a free..... car air freshener.  if it's any kind of incentive, saturday night there will be some k-pop performers (G.O.D. or something) and jonathan brent.  i mean, how could it get any better than THAT.

give me a call if you're interested in coming and getting immersed in the korean culture (something i am deathly afraid of but will have to endure).  it's held at the Seoul International Park at the corner of Normandie and Olympic.

i think i ought to plan some kind of activities to see people before i leave but i don't have much motivation.  any ideas?

few short thoughts:

- i think it's retarded that bush is nominating john roberts to be the new chief justice.  i was not entirely against him to replace sandra day o'connor but i don't really see the logic of choosing a non-current supreme court justice as the new chief justice.  perhaps i'm just not really familiar with how this whole supreme court thing works.  will have to wait and see how this all plays out.

- finally learned to drive stick.  thanks steve for letting me screw up your mini but now i can screw up my cousin's car instead.

- stanley, when exactly are you in LA b/c i suspect i may not see you after this visit.  i have a really busy end of september though :(.

- i got burnt for the first time in a few years this weekend.  but it was worth it.

- i'm getting addicted to these silly mariah carey songs.

long update to come in a couple of days.
