  • WTF?! Another Reason I Hate People

    So Conservative radio host Micheal Savage has decided that 99% of Autism is a fraud and it's actually the child being a brat: Read here (and hear his own words)


    Direct quotes: "You know what autism is? I'll tell you what autism is, in 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is."
    and
    "They don't have a father around to tell them, 'Don't act like a moron. You'll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz.'"

    Damn, good thing we have Mr. Savage around to set us straight. I mean, obviously my son doesn't have me around enough (even though he lives with me) so maybe I just need slap him and tell him this. What a damn genius. Thanks Mr. Savage, now I know how to cure him...fucking idiot.

    What the hell!!!!

    And his apology here. Yeah, there is none.

    Now I have no problem with people using their freedom of speech, our Constitution guarantees us that right. However, when you say something dumb you should expect to get ripped apart. And lose your job. I fully believe that this jackass should be fired. Why? Not because of his conservative views (no matter how much I disagree with them he still gets to express them, though people like him would rather I didn't express mine) but because of the idiocy involved in the statement. This would be the same as saying people with cancer or AIDS are just faking and that it is a scam for public benefits (yes, he said that too).

    As a parent of an Asperger's (a form of Autism) child I find this so offensive. Am I unbiased? Hell no, I am very biased. Must be nice to be able to sit on a high horse and just call things a fraud. To insult children and parents because you have a radio show.

    And I know Mr. Savage will never read this (because if I had my way he would be homeless next week) but all I can say is walk a mile in the parent of an Autistic child's shoes. Find out how much of a fraud it is. Come to the realization that nothing, nothing you can do or say will make a difference. Then you can go on your little rants.

    My comments about autism were meant to boldly awaken parents and children to the medical community's attempt to label too many children or adults as "autistic."

    Just as some drug companies have overdiagnosed "ADD" and "ADHD" to peddle dangerous speed-like drugs to children as young as 4 years of age, this cartel of doctors and drug companies is now creating a national panic by overdiagnosing "autism, for which there is no definitive medical diagnosis!

    Many children are being victimized by being diagnosed with an "illness" which may not exist, in all cases. Just a few weeks ago doctors recommended dangerous anti-cholesterol drugs for children as young as 2 years of age! Without any scientific studies on the possible dangers of such drugs on children, corrupt doctors made this controversial, unscientific recommendation.

    Increasingly, our children are being used as profit centers by a greedy, corrupt medical/pharmaceutical establishment. As the brother of a severely disabled person who suffered and died in a New York "snake-pit" of a "mental hospital," I know first-hand what true disability is.

    To permit greedy doctors to include children in medical categories which may not be appropriate is a crime against that child and their family. Let the truly autistic be treated. Let the falsely diagnosed be free.

    Edit: July 23, took the day off to spend time with the family. Took Mr. Savage's avice, took my son aside, looked him straight in the eye and said: Don't act like a moron. You'll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz.'

    Nothing changed, at all. Guess good old Dr. Mr. Savage was completely wrong.


    Edit: July 24th, check out Sapphire Rains blog. It has links to all the different advertisers from the 'Savage Nation'. Apparently, Aflac has already withdrawn advertising and Radio Shack is saying that the airing of their commercials during his show was a mistake made by some affiliates, they had bought time at a different point but were aired incorrectly. We can't force him to be fired, but advertisers can be forced to drop sponsorship.

    And remember, boycott Rockstar Energy Drinks, the CEO is Mr. Savage's son. Hit him and his family in the pocketbook.
