| All this liquor in my cup....got me dancing like a slut. Sorry! I'm not a slut, but I've had this remix stuck in my head ALL DAY. Lil Kim.. oh girl, you're so dirty. I love you. A lot. So what's new? I have Fri-Sun off. Tonight I'm going to volunteer at the Hillary campaign headquarters. ((Britney Spears feat Lil Kim - "Gimme More remix")) I have no idea what I'll be doing.. maybe I'll meet someone :) hehe.. I should volunteer more. Just keep myself busy. I formally turned down Delta's offer. They called me back the next day and were like "Are you sure?" and what not.. then they told me if I didn't like the other airline, I should reapply in 6 months, that they'd love to have me. Aww! I got a voicemail from United that I need to attend to.. I completely forgot that I had applied to them.. I'll call them back shortly. Mmhm.
Wednesday night, we all went out to Wall St. Had a good time, made out with some friends (awkward?), drank entirely too much.. hot damn.. guys need to STOP buying me shots! ((Mika - "Love Today")) Or maybe I should stop making eye contact with every single guy I think is attractive.. oh well! Last night, I had my Happy Hour at McFadden's.. I drank for free for two hours. Lots of liquor. It was just me and Adriel - there were many people coming, but that fucking snowstorm messed that up. Grr. Oh well. We had a great time, watched some hockey, requested our song, tried to flirt with a couple guys.. it was a good time. Then we went to Union and finished up the night. And I took more shots. I mean, they were free! Do I just turn them down? ((Madonna - "Deeper and Deeper")) You can't turn down free alcohol.. it's just not right. It's like when you open a bottle of liquor - you have to finish it or it will go bad. Thanks, Gangy.
More to come at a later date.. until then, I leave you with this:

| Saw this while perusing around.I got this from Matt's xanga. It's worthwhile.
1) Do you believe there's a soul? Why or why not? If you
believe there is soul, how would describe the soul? - I think people have *something* more than themselves.. more like an essence. Something that can be felt or known on rare occasions. 2) Do you think there can be such a thing as a soul without a spiritual creator (God, for example)? - I don't think you need a spiritual creator to be more than the sum of your parts. 3) Where does morality come from? Social construction, evolution, a higher power, etc.? - I think morality comes from past experience. Morals tell people what not to do to hurt others, and what to do to help others. If someone has done something to hurt you, you'd be that much less inclined to do it to someone else if you like them. If something has done something good for you, you might just do it for someone else. 4)
Do you believe in a higher power? Why or why not? - Agnostic. Enough said.
Consider those the religious questions. Now, political questions:
1)
What is your political affiliation, and if you don't have one, how
would you describe your politics? If you don't answer with a party or
with "liberal," "conservative," "libertarian," etc., please give a
brief summary of your political views. Also, if you do answer with one
word (party or ideological affiliation), feel free to expand. - liberal. I keep it neat. 2) Who do you support, if anyone, for President of the United States? - Hillary. I'm a Clintonite, have been for many years. My old xanga, the day after the 2004 Presidential election, I made a post about Hillary winning in 2008. I love that woman. 3) What do you look for in a candidate? - experience, kindness, fairness, and my benefits 4) What particular issues are important to you? - equal rights (of course), end of the war, health care, economy 5) Is there any particular source that exerts considerable influence on your political opinions? - my past 6) From what sources do you usually get your political information? - the candidate's websites
More personal questions:
1) What do you want to do for the rest of your life? - live moderately and find happiness 2) What do you plan on doing for the rest of your life? - live moderately and look for happiness 3) If there is a contrast between the two, are they at all reconcilable? - one leads to the other 4)
How do you feel about your current life situation? School,
relationships, setting, faith, friends, family, etc. Anything you want
to answer. - My current life situation is.. interesting. Always interesting. I'm doing what I need to do.
How about THAT?

| Life is what you pray for; love is what you stay for.The first thing on your mind right now should be "WHY the hell are you up this early on a Saturday?!" hahaha I just had my first walk-of-shame in a long time.. there wasn't much shame in it, however - no one was out, and I was just crashing at a friend's place. It was still fun though. No better way to be alone with your thoughts than walking around outside when it's dead. Try it sometime. It's wonderful. ((Josh Kelley - "Almost Honest")) I'm getting very anticipatory about my interview with one airline on Wednesday.. I'd much rather have the other one.. I'm awesome and they should see that. Amen? Amen.
I got my hair cut for the first time in 3 months. I was letting it grow out, but just decided to screw it and get it back short. Everyone likes it better short. I'll keep it short from now on. PLUS, when it's this short, I can rock out my stubble. I should post a pic. I think I will.. as soon as I get one. ((John Mayer - "Belief")) On Tuesday night, Alec dragged me out to Q-Bar. I'd never been there before.. really nice bar, but the crowd is kinda.. eh. I got free drinks all night though, and hung out with someone I'd not gotten a chance to, so that was nice. Saw a few people I haven't seen in a while. Wednesday night was spent at Wall Street. Guys night. I love that :) They played "Low".. I love that song so much.. I just get nasty to it. I'm not a great dancer, but I am a fun dancer. Then Mike and I talked for a while, and it was good.. then "Just Fine" came on, so we HAD to dance.. You understand.. ((Jimmy Eat World - "23")) I was buzzed and all was well.
Thursday, Valentine's Day, I slept til 2pm. Mom called and was like "Happy Valentine's Day!" and my response was "ugh, fuck that." I got all dolled up and went to *ta-da* the Hillary Clinton rally on campus. I got there an hour before the doors opened. I was the 11th person inside. I ran into an old friend who was working the event, and he was like "Jeremy!" He worked his magic and got me one of the greatest seats in the house.. I was on TV, y'all! Someone posted YouTube videos from it: http://youtube.com/watch?v=wqrkJC0MRfM and http://youtube.com/watch?v=TMQJOBipLEs I'm the one on the top row of the risers, in the tan coat and white shirt, holding a sign, next to the guy in the dark coat who's holding a sign. Thanks, Bryan! You rock. Hillary was absolutely amazing to hear.. she left me, literally, breathless several times. Even if you don't think she'd make a good President, she's an awesome public speaker. Just like her hubby, who I saw last year. Clintons, I heart you. Make it happen.
I went straight from there to the house, where I cooked a dinner for the roomies. Then Alec and I stopped by McFadden's for the tail end of happy hour. ((The Postal Service - "Nothing Better")) We went to Jack's to finish the night.. I drank a lot for free. You know, going to your bartender on Valentine's Day, when he knows you just got out of a relationship, is a great way to get some free shots. I ate popcorn and played pool. ((Waking Ashland - "Counting the Stars"))I made a CD, just like I would've if I'd had someone to share it with.. I've given a few copies away to people who've asked. Here it is:
Alanis Morissette - "Head Over Feet" Barenaked Ladies - "If I Had $1000000" Celine Dion - "Have You Ever Been" Dave Matthews Band - "Crush" Elton John - "Your Song" The Get Up Kids - "Campfire Kansas" Jack's Mannequin - "Dark Blue" Mariah Carey - "Emotions" N'SYNC - "God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You" The Postal Service - "Brand New Colony" Saves the Day - "Firefly" Weezer - "Glorious Day" The Click Five - "All I Need Is You" Something Corporate - "Hurricane" Avril Lavigne - "Things I'll Never Say" Evan & Jaron - "Done Hangin' On Maybe" Josh Kelley - "Only You" Sheryl Crow - "Light In Your Eyes" William Tell - "Just For You"
Good mix, eh? :) It made me a lil happy.. I don't know if I'm ready to actually start liking someone again.. I'm just kinda on autopilot, hanging out with my friends all the time, being sociable.. It's like, I love hanging out with my friends. I do enjoy going out, but I'm such a homebody. I like just sitting at home with the one I love, doing nothing. Maybe watching TV. Maybe just sitting at our computers. Maybe just talking. I'd love to have that again, but I'd have to be sure that I'd also be prepared to lose it again.. but can you really, fully love someone if you're prepared to NOT be in love with them? Does that mean that you're not loving as best as you can? Y'all know I'm terrible about putting feelings into words. I express them through body language much better. This is why I'm not a writer.
Last night was simpler. We got together and played Smash and drank. A few of us went to get food afterwards, a few went to the club. I crashed around 4am. Woke up at 8:30am. It was nice to sleep in a different place, a place that didn't feel as alone. I'll do my laundry today, clean my room.. put a new list of things to do on my door.
My lesson to teach this time around: Don't ever give up on love. Love!

| If you are what you eat....I'd be Oriental today :) I know - "Oriental" is un-PC. But the place was called Orient Express. So I'm going with it. Slanted eyes and all. LOVE!.. so today, work was boring-ish. ((Josh Kelley - Unfair)) I did a lot of stuff though.. I think.. remember how I used to just block work out when I got off? I still do that. I get off work and it's like I just spend 9 hours doing.. nothing. I'm fine. Work doesn't get me worked up.. I have a little game I like to play with the Xanax moms. Usually when you walk into a store, someone will ask if you're doing alright and what not, so the standard response is "Yes, thank you." Well, I switch it up. I always ask "Can I help you find anything?" and then the Xanax moms will give the standard "Yes, thank you." A second later, they'll realize that they just answered my question like a complete moron, and the look on their faces when that happens? Priceless. I love it. The look of stupidity on people's faces, caused by me.. ah.. nice. ((Sheryl Crow - Light in Your Eyes)) Of course, there're the women that get bitchy when they realize I just made them look stupid. That's why I want to get out of retail.. you know, get back to doing something where I'm not.. ignored? Very occasionally I'll feel bad about it, but I just remind myself that they might be stupid. Then I'm all better.
My phone has been unusually quiet today, probably because I saw everyone this weekend. ((Avril Lavigne - Things I'll Never Say)) We all caught up with each other, drank, hung out, all that jazz. I went to Age's last night and drank and played Smash. Then Bryan and I went ALL THE WAY TO LANE AND 4TH for a party, where we got schwastied. We were shotgunning beers on the porch with straighties. It was delicious. Then we stopped at another party on the way home.. I barely remember that party. But I did drink more beer. Then I came home, made hot dogs, and passed out. Then I woke up and got ready for work. Now I'm here! Alec and I are going to the bar tonight.. I'm hoping the drink special is NOT beer.. but I'm thinking it is.. damn. ((Grease Soundtrack - We Go Together)) I don't think I'm gonna change my clothes. I AM going to bring quarters for the jukebox. I need to hear my songs. OOH I think I'm gonna make a hot dog RIGHT NOW. FUCKING YES.
You guys, go eat something. And think of me. I'm eating something too.
Brett.

| You get what you give, "New Radicals"-style.Yeah, you guys remember that song? It's one of my childhood memories, the music video. Mmhm. Right now.. I'm about to get in the shower, then pick up a smoothie for Alec and take it to him at work. I'm such a good roomie. I was trying to see if Bryan was online to go to Burritos Noches.. but he's not.. damn.. I'm so motivated to get shit done right now. I thought I'd have the weekend OFF from anticipation about hearing back from airlines, but I talked to a couple friends - one got his callback on a Saturday morning, and one on a Sunday evening. Ugh.. I hate waiting! I don't mind waiting if it's what I have to do, if just waiting is benefiting me. But this is just WAITING.. grr.
I think I'll start posting whatever song is playing as I type, just to add a little more personality to the blog.
Last night, it was.. me, Age, Bryan, Patrick, Dannon, and Jordan. We all got drunk, played some Smash Bros, and went to a party that was beach-themed. WHO has a beach-themed party in the midwest in February?! We froze our nuts off on the walk over.. and when we got there, HARDLY ANYONE was dressed in beach attire. We were pissed. And kinda cold. ((Stacie Orrico - Security)) Since it was a gay party, no one was drinking the beer, so our group finished an entire case. Patrick kept finding drinks laying around that people had left.. so we drank them.. haha.. then we grabbed some beers and went back to Age's for more Smash Bros. Anytime before we go out, we get smashed and play Smash. It's wholesome! We also drank some Blue Wave - that stuff is the SHIT. It's 60-proof flavored vodka that's only like $9 for a fifth. YUM. Then I crashed at his place around 4am. What a good night. He drove me home, I made me and Alec paninis, and I went to take a shower.. but Alec was doing laundry, so there was no water, so I just decided to take my dirty ass back to bed. People kept calling me.. disturbing my sleep.. Oh well. Having my phone on all the time is a trademark. ((Aly & AJ - Chemicals React))
You guys, paninis are a serious part of my life. I have 1-2 every single day. They're so easy to make! And warm! I usually have multigrain bread, whatever meat slices, whatever cheese, and whatever sauce. I should start selling these things. They're uber-awesome. Another big part of my life is work, where they've been changing my schedule without telling me.. I have my schedule for this week, printed off, and it doesn't match the phone calls I've been getting the past couple days, asking where I am. I even have one manager who TOLD me and KNOWS I had yesterday off.. grr.. I need to call and straighten that out tonight. I can't wait to be done with retail. I vowed to never go back to it, and look where I'm at? ((Savage Garden - I Want You)) I'm really salty at having quit flight attending to begin with, but at the same time, I see the disadvantages of working for my previous airline. And the perks of switching. I just hate waiting.. the one I'm rooting for, they have a class in training until the 13th. I really, REALLY hope I don't have to wait that long to hear something back from them. I wanna just go and get it done with!
Pay me during training! Let me give good customer service above 30,000 feet! Let me travel for free! Let me get an apartment in Boston! COME ON!! ((Evan and Jaron - Done Hangin' on Maybe)) haha.. aww.. my rants.. I just can't wait to get back to it all. And get a new phone. And have people check me out all over the place.. apparently, the airline I'm rooting for, they hire a lot of cute, younger guys. Rawr! That's something to be jazzed about - eye candy. And apparently, it's a younger crowd that flies it a lot. I'm excited. They just need to see who I am, and that I'm worth every penny. Then all will be well.
Tonight, no one knows what we're doing. It better be cheap, because I'm cheap. Well if Age is putting it together, it WILL be cheap.. drinking and Smash at his place, then..? Who knows. Who cares. It'll be fun, and that's what counts. ooh, have you guys been keeping up with the primaries? Hillary needs to start pulling some new shit out if she's gonna serve Obama his ass. Like she needs to. I grew up hardcore Clinton. I heart Bill back in the White House. Can anyone say "economic prosperity" and "end to war"? I'm not saying the Clintons are necessarily good people, but they DO sure know how to get shit done. And that's what I want in a President - the ability to get things done. I don't want a preacher. I want a doer. Hillary is a doer.. and being married to Bill certainly won't hurt. I'm surprised at how low of a profile the press has given to Bill. Sad to say, but it's probably for the best. *sigh* Bill.. I love you.. especially in Family Guy. You GO!
((Relient K - Must Have Done Something Right)) Well, I'm already a half hour late on that smoothie, so I'm gonna shower and go. More ramblings sometime soon.
Nothing but love for you folks.
Brett.
