It's been a while since I last posted, so I thought I'd throw down a few words.

I purchased Rock Band a few weeks ago and have recently acquired Rock Band 2. I can tell you that as of right now, the former had a much better selection of songs, even though the latter has a broader number to choose from. No matter, though, as I find the game to be fun as hell, no matter the song (as long as you have a group to play with). I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't transfer over by character or band, though (although I just recreated them)...

Classes thus far are going okay. I seem to be procrastinating even more this semester than in the past, so I need to find motivation to change that a bit. I haven't yet gotten into a groove, but I suppose that will come. I really need to start working on a take-home test that I've had a month to complete...

Heroes and House are back on for their new seasons, so that it awesome. The Office starts up on Thursday. I can't wait to see how Heroes goes this season, because the first two episodes were quite awesome. Let's see how Nathan and Noah deal with their new situations. I'm also quite glad that Malcolm McDowell was brought back.

Ultimate Frisbee has started up again as well, so I'm glad of that. It really is the only exercise that I am getting because I don't have any motivation to go running. I'll need to work on that.

I need Phantasm II to complete my collection. I can't ever seem to find it anywhere.

The Colts really need this bye week to figure themselves out and heal up.

Notre Dame is 2-1, nice to see some good execution...

Work is going pretty well as not many problems have occurred. It seems as though I'll be taking on some more responsibility soon, so that will only give me some more experience.

I have planned on being The Riddler this Halloween, but I may not do it. I'll need to think about it the next week or so, as I'd need to get a green suit and bowler hat for it. I don't think I'll want to spend the money to do it.

I need to lay off the caffeine, but I really need it to get me going. What I really need is the Perk to open so that I can use my fucking meal plan.

Metallica's new album is pretty good. It's nice to hear the older sound coming back... I love Unforgiven III a lot; the piano intro makes the song amazing.

I'm out of things to mention.

Okay, so I have mentioned a few times how much I loved The Dark Knight. I do feel that Heath Ledger pulled off an amazing performance and I really wish that here were alive today so that he could reprise his role as The Joker.

Big Surprise

The Chinese government has finally acknowledged that it is censoring the internet being used by the foreign presses that are there for the Olympic games. That's a big surprise; I completely believed them when they said that the foreign press would be able to freely report during the games... I can say that it is likely China will not be getting another look for any world-wide event until they loosen their grip on the media. Its the media that makes the world go 'round these days, and the Chinese government needs to realize this.

I very recently installed a version of Linux (Ubuntu) on my computer and am now learning to use it. If I like it enough, I may end up using Linux whenever I get my next computer. If I get a desktop, it will be Windows, though. I want to be able to play some games... I can always just reformat my laptop and fully install Ubuntu. I'm enjoying it right now, and I'm sure it will only help in the tech world to know a little about an OS other than Windows. I still refuse to look at Apple as an option, though, as I don't really do anything that a Mac would be good for, and I hat the typical Mac flaunter... Style over substance is never awesome.

Classes are just around the corner... Yay...

I really want to see The Dark Knight again. I can't wait until it comes to DVD. I'm still amazed at the multitude of good performances given by the the actors.

I think that I will begin actively packing stuff up for when I can move over to my new room tomorrow. I plan on it being moved over and unpacked all by the end of the night. I just want to get things done so I don't need to worry about it over the weekend. If anything, I'll probably come back to the Central room sometime on Saturday to sweep it and clean things. I'm hoping to steal the dolly from Residence Life to make the moving easier.

I'm still playing Diablo II. I'm currently a lvl 41 barbarian with some good gear and mostly shitty gear. I've really only got a good helm and boots. I need things badly.I think I might just pop in to some cow levels and pick up everything I can get my hands on. That way I can always just sell the shitty stuff and use the money to gamble on things. Either that, or I could just beg people to give me things... But I've always enjoyed finding the items much more.

I really can't wait until everyone moves back in. That will be fun. Just another month to wait.

Did I mention I want to see The Dark Knight again?

If you did not see the midnight showings of Batman, I suggest you go see it. It is one of the best films I have ever seen, and probably my new favorite. Its really the first movie I've ever seen that I didn't experience a minute of boredom.

Heath Ledger + The Joker = Best movie villain... Ever.

The Dark Knight makes Ironman look like a bad movie... If that helps you any.

I have also decided to start worshiping Morgan Freeman as my god.

Brett Favre retired from playing football earlier this year. I knew it probably was not going to last because he has more or less been on the same road for the past 5 years or so... I just figured that he would pull the same crap and come back anyway because his team was actually good. Anyway, he actually did retire and then about a few weeks ago, he decides he wants to play again. Along with that has come an entire blizzard of questions and statements that say the team has moved on and how they are terrible for not welcoming Favre back with open arms. Now Brett himself seems to be bitching about it, but even in doing so, he specifically states that he may not play anyway.

Take a look at this report and see for yourself what I mean. He says he wants to play again, that it was a mistake to retire and that the team should welcome him back. He then says that if they want him back, he won't want to be a back-up. He also says that if they won't let him play that they should release (or trade) him so that he can play. Then he states that even if those things were to happen, he may not play anyway. It is possible that, with him being a jock, he may just be stupid and therefor not know how to speak. It may help to know that he may just be confusing himself in the process of explaining his needs and wants to the team/media.

My suggestion is that Mr. Favre stops bitching and either says that he will or will not play. Period. The team has the right to not accept him back, because I'm sure that they have already begun incorporating Aaron Rodgers into the system, and probably don't want to have the locker room split between two QBs.

It seems that Final Fantasy XIII will now be released on the PS3 and XBox 360 simultaneously. This really changes my mind on which system to get. Now I can just grab a 360 and then I can have both Fable 2 and FFXIII. Final Fantasy was the only reason why I was going for the PS3.

We'll see what happens.

Inner Tube Water Polo?

I was just asked whether or not I would be interested in playing inner tube water polo as an intramural sport. I immediately said that I wouldn't, mainly because I don't really care for swimming that much. Then it occurred to me that "inner tube" was part of the equation... I asked why there would be inner tubes involved, to which the answer was that some people cannot swim.

I then made my argument that people who cannot swim should not be diving in pools to play a sport that involves swimming. The rebuttal was that the inner tubes were there for that very reason and that there would be a lifeguard as well. I then stated that regardless of the presence of a lifeguard, that people who cannot swim still should not think it a good idea to go traipsing in the very liquid through which they cannot travel without the aid of a rubber tube.

Once again, I was told that it would be safe due to the lifeguard and the added security of an inner tube. I then asked if this person would knowingly engage in sexual acts with a person riddled with various STDs including, but not limited to HIV. The answer, of course, was no. I then asked them if they would do it if I promised that a physician would be present and that a condom would be used... The answer was then. "Well, if you put it that way... I suppose it isn't a very good idea."

I suppose that we will also have contests of marksmanship, William Tell-style, with the security of EMTs and a helmet.

Restless

I haven't had very good sleep for the past month or so... Sure, there have been nights when it was great, but overall the quality has really been terrible. All of this, of course, comes after a good stretch where I did sleep well. I think that I may need to change something in order to correct this problem. Maybe I should start running again.

Hellboy II comes out this week and Batman comes out next Friday. I want to see Hellboy pretty bad, but I might wait a bit before I do. Batman, on the other hand, is definitely a priority as Tomey, Nayt, and I are planning on the seeing midnight showing.... Maybe even in IMAX. It looks to be very bad ass.

Nayt and I seem to be able to manipulate the new 4e fighting system so that we kick ass. Two dragons down already, and before we hit level 4.

Blizzard Kicks Ass (Wanted Does as Well)

Wow...

It's been a while since I last blogged about stuff. Anyway, here's some stuff that has happened since the last time:

My computer's power adapter decided it was time to break, so I bought a new one. The new one then decided it wasn't going to work, so I returned it and am now expecting a refund. Once that happens, I'll probably just go to the Gateway website and find replacement that isn't an off-brand. Its been a while since I have been able to use my baby.

D&D 4th edition is out, and we have several campaigns that people are beginning to run or will start come first semester. My characters are as follows:

Dragonborn Fighter
Drow Ranger
Human Wizard

I really like the new system- a lot. Everything seems to be very carefully looked at and balanced, with the probable exception of a few things. I really wish that templates would have been included in the Monster Manual, but I'm sure that it will come at some point. Till then, it will all just be guess work and rationalization.

Work has been a bit boring, but luckily there is always television to watch on the internet. I've successfully seen all 4 seasons of Lost, as well as watched season one of Metalocalypse. I'll be watching the second season of it, as well as Harvey Birdman and Firefly in the coming months.

I have seen Wanted twice since this past Friday of its release, and can tell you that you need to see it if you like awesome movies. I really wish that Angelina would put on an extra 20-25 pounds or so... She'd look so much better with it. Also, go see The Incredible Hulk if you haven't yet, it is about 100 times better than Ang Lee's piece of shit.

I've got a wedding to go to on August 2nd, and I'm really glad that I now know what a couple registering at a store means. That just makes my life much easier when trying to find them a gift.

Wine tasting is really cool... and pretty cheap (at Deano's Vino at least).

Diablo III has been announced, and it looks cool as hell. Fuck WoW and StarCraft 2, just gimme some more Diablo and I'll be happy.
