Today I did laundry.

As I was pulling my whites out of the washing machine, I found a very DANGEROUS object in the washing machine.

...a blue pen.

Fortunately, none of my clothes were ruined.
Now you may be asking yourself, "Gee golly Brian. You are so incredibly lucky. How did you manage to keep your clothes safe?"

Unfortunately, I can not take credit.
All thanks must go to the creators of the Sanford Uniball Onyx pen.
In particular, the designer of that impenetrable cap.

My white shirts and underwear owe you their lives.

Lesson learned: check your pockets before washing.

I removed the cap shortly after I pulled it out from the wash.
All the ink poured out over my hands.
My thumb, index finger, and ring finger are still slightly blue.

It's been 2 weeks since my last entry and I guess I'm pretty much settled in to Seattle now.

Working life is pretty dull.
Monday through Friday is pretty routing with work, gym, then home.
Lots of television, occasional errands such as going out for groceries, and some light reading.

Weekends have more substance because of intern organized outings and church.
So that's pretty nice.

I lead a pretty boring life. So that's all for tonight.
I'll leave you with a couple pictures.

after a week in Seattle...

It's been about a week since I've come to Seattle.

I've gone to Target just about everyday.
There's a small mall within walking distance and I keep finding myself in need of something. Contact solution, envelopes, facial wash, lotion, the list goes on....

The weather is a nice 50-60 degrees.
Perfect hoodie weather. I only wish I actually brought one. Didn't expect the weather to be THIS cool. I love it though.

Driving is expensive.
Gas cost $4.06 when I first came. It's gone up to $4.21 since then. If it was cheaper, I'd just drive around and go sight-seeing. Too expensive to just go out for a drive, especially when I don't know where I'm going.

Living in a hotel is kind of nice.
I have weekly housekeeping which is pretty nice since they change out my towels, vacuum, and make my bed for me. My curtains must be really thick/dark because if I leave them closed, it looks like night even in the middle of the day. And I like living alone.

Work...err, PAPERwork.
This week has been mainly paperwork and training. I haven't really done much. I share an office with another guy named Brian. And my computer is pretty sweet....especially since I have a dual monitor setup as well. Apparently I have all the new equipment in the department? My office mate is already calling dibs on my stuff in advance for when I leave, haha.

I've been eating out a lot.
I've slowly been buying groceries and stuff, but I ate out a LOT this week. Getting way to expensive. Oh, nice thing is that I have unlimited free drinks at work. Lots of Nestea and chocolate milk. I just got back from buying some Korean food (rice, mool nehng myun, and some bahn chan).

Lots of TV.
I mean a LOT. I've pretty much been coming home everyday and watching TV. That 70's show, A Knight's Tale (twice), Jurassica Park 3, Pirates of the Caribbean (1 and 3), and a lot more.

My internet hates me.
So far I've been banned from the network twice (it's a long story). It's inconsistent and I can't download anything (I'm not allowed =/). Looks like I'm not gonna be able to catch up on as many shows as I had wanted to. As for pictures, I'll probably start uploading them from work.

Social life...or lack there of.
Met a couple interns here and there, but not really close friends with anyone yet. But after just one week, I guess it's to be expected. Checked out a church today, and I must say it's weird to walk in there as a newcomer (first time in 5 years). Talked to only a handful of people. I can definitely see the need for greetings/hospitality ministries.

All in all, I see an interesting summer ahead.

So for about the past month, my brain has been kind of acting up.
It's going to sound pretty ridiculous, so just bear with me.

Anyways, here goes.
I've been having problems remembering what's real...and what was just a dream.

Couple instances...
- thought I had a new coworker at work (but he does not exist)
- thought someone called me in the morning (checked my call log...and they did not)
- thought I received an e-mail from UT (inbox says otherwise)
- thought I finished a hw assignment (there was no assignment)

I have to admit.
Kind of creepy...

But not just that, I've been having trouble remembering things in general.
- I've forgotten the beginning of a sentance before the other person reaches the end of it.
- Stopped in the middle of my dance class because I suddenly forgot what dance we were doing (even though we'd been dance it for the past 5 minutes)
- Constantly forgetting where I park (walked towards the wrong side of campus once)
- I've told someone I look forward to spring semester (because I thought it was around October of fall semester)

A friend thinks I have brain damage.
Sounds freaky. =X

Anyways, if I forget your name or don't show up to a scheduled appointment with you...chances are, I forgot.
So bear with me as I try to regain control over my brain.

My holey jeans.

I currently own 5 pairs of jeans.

1 from aunt, 1 from friend, and 3 from myself.

Now I'm not the type to buy jeans with holes cut in strategic locations that are labeled "stylish".
But it's been so long since I've bought new pants that almost all my jeans are getting torn up.

So today, I want to talk about holes in pants.
More specifically...the holes in MY pants.

Pant #1

I'm currently wearing these.
There's this giant hole that's a little too high up...
That gray thing? My boxer briefs.
That blueish-gray thing? The inner lining of the pocket.

Pant #2

I get the most comments for this one.
I always put my wallet in my back left pocket...so it's kind of dangling there with this pair.
Don't really know how these holes came about...

Pant #3

This one doesn't actually have a hole.
BUT....the stitching is falling apart.
It freaked me out at first because I thought the whole thing was coming apart.
But it's still together.

Pant #4

The one that bothers me the most.
You can't see it unless you bend down, glance up, and are INTENTIONALLY looking for it.
But the fact that it's still there...

Pant #5 (no picture)
My last pair is still good.
But that's because I don't wear it as often as the others.
It's a little tighter fit on my legs and I'm self-conscious.
