Still Alive

Wow. I last updated in November of 2007? Crazy. Xanga looks very different from when I last saw it. I have a daily xanga subscription to let me know of everyone's latest updates. I haven't had a chance to read anything since April or so, and it was weird reading them because I did it backwards. I smiled a lot while reading that. I can see why people like facebook, multiply and all these other sites. And yes, I still do not have facebook.

I'm actually at home (in the new house we bought back in April). My wife is out with her smallgroup. It still feels a little weird to call Daphne my wife. It's shorter than girlfriend and/or fiancee yet infinitely more meaningful. I'm really enjoying married life. It's everything I thought it would be and more. Daph and I waited a very long time for this and God definitely rewarded our patience. Thanks Lord

I had a weird day at work, there's construction on Mockingbird Lane and one of the workers there decided to knock over the power generator to our building. We lost power around 3pm and were told we had to leave because the brokerage desk needed all the power from the floor. I just learned from my team leader that we won't know if we can even go in tomorrow until 10AM or so. I'm a little worried about all the things that actually need to get done.

So yes, did I mention that I've bought a new home and got married? I also got a new job with the same company. I passed the Series 7 and am in the process of taking the 66. Afterwards, I'm going to study for the GMAT and pursue an MBA... I think. Well, unless I can figure out what I really want to do with my life. I do this once in awhile... pause during unusual breaks and ponder where God has taken me and where He's leading me. I've been at my new role for almost 7 months now, and I love the people I work with. It's a fun environment and the line of business we're in is growing. I'm not sure why, but I still at times feel unease. Maybe it's because I'm not exactly sure where this job will take me. Daph told me that I need to simply be patient and learn as much as I can. She's right... too many times at work, I've always thought of myself as more capable than the people around me and therefore, more deserving of added duties and responsibilities. And yet, I still struggle with the same problems at work. All I can do for now is pray... I still dread not knowing what to do with my life but it's definitely God teaching me to depend on him.

I should try to update xanga with photos and whatnot, but well... I need to study for this exam.

I should update.

Still in Taiwan, thank you for all your prayers

Thursday, April 19, 2007

I think most people have a good idea of how often I update my Xanga page. So I won't make any excuses about it. I've actually been writing some things I wanted to blog about in a little notebook at work. Some of these I've mentioned on and off with folks but here's the comprehensive list:

1. I celebrated Chinese New Years in a video game. I didn't celebrate in real life, but I did get to collect gifts and mini pigs (it's the year of the pig ) for preston, vincent and dundundun.

2. I won $1 from the Texas Lotto. Well, it was a $2 prize for getting the mega number or something, but I did have to pay $1 for the ticket.

3. I proceeded to get another ticket when no one won the first mega millions, and lost... so net gain of 0 but I did get some exercise walking to the store with Bin twice .

4. Like BonMo, I have my mouse on the left side of my computer at work. Unlike BonMo, I did it because my right wrist and shoulder blade has been hurting for some time. Plus I figure, now would be the best time to become ambi-mouse-dexterous... in the event that i fracture something on my right arm (again).

5. I got the idea of moving my taskbar to the top of my desktop from Asah. It's primarily because my screen sits too low at work but by moving it to the top, it's almost at eye level .

6. My pen holder at work is made of 2 rolls of clear tape at work. Interestingly enough, they give us everything but pen holders.

7. I have no plants or pictures of anything in my office.

8. I took the Dart home one time, and didn't know that the person sitting next to me was Uncle Larry from DCBC. Then again, I was asleep during the ride and he was wear sunglasses and his head was on the rail in front of our seat.

9. I've "semi-officially" engaged to Daph. I guess we're officially engaged when my parents actually fly over here next year to do the tea ceremony and gift giving in person. That's the profile pic I'm using right now.

10. I gave a testimony at PCAC, it's The Wheel and I had a prop of a wheel made from a seat cushion at church. Priscila made it 15 minutes before worship started. I haven't listened to it yet...

Work

So at BOA, we do March of Dimes in March, and this year we decided to do a Mini Golf Tournament on our floor. Each Industry was to design a hole and make it using things from our office. Well, if you know me, I always have grand plans and ideas. So I began hatching up a plan.

The top left picture is my whiteboard at work. The last drawing on the bottom right is from Asah

Here's what the actual Hole looked like. Oh and there was a Windmill up front with a tiny hole too.

Oh it was probably the hardest hole, and the Analysts and Managers were calling it the "Devil Hole". And no, those styrofoam cups lined up like bowling pins were not there when people were actually putting.

Because of what I did, pretty much all the other Industries wanted to compete and make holes that were just as nice and cool.

Here are some of the other holes.

Gaming had a Casino Theme with a slots machine in the back.

Real Estate looked like a Construction site. Notice the Wrecking Ball to blow your way.

Media Telecom... well, it simply looked Wicked. It's possible to get a Hole in One on this one.

Oh, yes this is the first time I've really uploaded pictures to Xanga. So hopefully it all comes out right. And I do do(hehe dudu ) work at work. Once in awhile, we'll get to goof off and it was just a very fun week last week.

Thanks Vincent!

And I probably should call everyone up, but since my phone's been dead the last few days, and I'm at work right now... I'll probably do it afterwards.
