Wow...so I hope I don't get too dramatic in this entry...but I decided to stop in a express a few thoughts. A lot has happened in the past week, and I am getting ready to have another one of those weeks I think...so here goes.
Adjustments. I don't always like adjustments. Sometimes, when I know there needs to be a change, I'm happy to adjust...and there are some of those that have been going on, but some...I don't like so much. Here's my list
1. Jeff is working days now.
This is a good adjustment. But it's not just one change. There are a lot of things that go along with that. Like...Jeff being crabby for awhile. OK I can handle it. Sleep deprivation is never a fun thing. Also...Jeff is taking a pay cut. I don't think it's going to be as bad as he does. I really think we can handle it. Strangely...the biggest adjustment that I've had to make...is relearning to share a bed. It's been hard for both of us! I'm actually used to sleeping on the side of the bed that he is, because it has a lamp, but now that he and I are sleeping at the same time, I have been relocated. Also...he is a bed hog. Jeff is not a light guy...so when he rolls over, I roll over. Unfortunately, our bed isn't that big, and I actually have fallen off the bed once. Other times I just get squished. Anyway...I take my temperature every morning, and it has risen from its average! lol Jeff is also a furnace!
2. I am working front end at Wal Mart instead of Garden Center.
I have been seriously thinking about writing an instruction manual for Wal Mart customers. It would include things such as...how to properly use the carousel: 1. The carousel turns. You have no need to reach over the carousel to fumble and grab at you groceries. The carousel is designed to turn so that the bags face you, the customer, and me, the cashier at the same time. Amazing technology...I know. 2. Please move your children's face from the line of disaster that is the bars jotting out to hold bags in place. Children for some reason desire to place these bars in their mouth, ear, and nostrils. Yes, nostrils. This is dangerous as a) who knows the heck has been there, and b) this item revolves. Meaning that I turn it. And if they long for those days of...keeping their nostrils unripped, please remove them from the carousel. 3. Please do not turn the carousel while my hands and arms are still in the bags. It is not polite, and causes many bruises. If you want less bags, stop trying to take them before I fill them. This seems like an obvious statement to me. 4. Your merchendise does not disappear as it goes around the corner. It will return when I move the bags around to fill them. I promise...there is no magical land of disappearing grocery around that corner. Remember the carousel REVOLVES. Thank you.
So anyway...I truly believe...and I'm sorry if I offend any of you...but I truly believe that the people that check out in the garden center are 75% of the time more polite and unselfish than the people that check out up front. I think it's because they are choosing to care for a form of life outside of their own. (Flowers, vegetables, trees, shrubs, etc.)
3. Our Bible Study. I'm not sure what's going on, but I know there are going to be changes. I have some strong feelings on some of this...and I know others have strong feelings as well. So I'm prayig that we can come to a good compromise that is best for our group to grow into better godly women.
So yeah...Home, Work, and Church are all going through some major changes. Luckily, I don't think any of them in themselves are a HUGE deal, but I'm afraid with all of them put together I'm going to be in tears. lol Hopefully not. I guess we'll see!
