| | Bonjourno! : ) it means hello, btw. si, im here to update about la viva Roma. its gonna be a looooooooooooooooooong post. lets time shall we? start time : 8.20pm. -- I left Malaysia on err, 26th May. Good day, good day : ) left home around err 8 almost 9 i think, and the flight was around 11.30pm. So yeah, i had to bother a few people to keep me company at the airport through phone, coz well, my brother is with his gameboy, mum with her newspaper and phone, dad with newspaper and phone also. the journey to Rome was a 12 hour flight. and i slept till 1 hour more till we reach Rome i think. hahaha, guess what i watch when i wake up? DON! :D yes, i watch Hindustan movies, confess confess. oh and sleeping in flight in economy class is soo not confortable, si. then it was err breakfast time? ate and half and hour later, 'welcome to Leonardo da Vinci international airport'. WOOHOO! from the airport to the hotel(Daniel's Hotel) was around 45 minutes, without trafic. it was 6am in Rome, so like duh, no traffic. italians are lazy people, like seriously. -.- reached hotel, brush teeth and yadaa yadaa yadaaa, and go breakfast, again. the place to eat was at the roof top, it wasnt really a nice view, coz all you see is just more rooftops, =.= but oh well, its cool, i guess. oh and the elevator of the hotel, is so small. put 4 guest and a porter in there, and its exactly like you're a sardine in a sardine can.
Rooftop view, i guess its not bad after brekkie, we went err, walking? we were walking without any aim. hahaha. yeah. we went to Piazza di Spagna, piazza means square, and Spagna means, Spain. si si. It was only 5 minutes walk or less away from the hotel. What was at Piazza di Spagna? The main attraction was Scalinata di Spagna, which translate to Spanish Steps.
Scalinata di Spagna Spanish Steps : It was built with French money, design by an Italian, Franscesco de Sacntis, and was named after the Spanish Embassy nearby. I still havent figure out where is the Spanish Embassy though. xD it was built in 1725. It was constructed to connect Piazza di Spagna and people who lived above it. Funny facts, it soon become a hang out place for the city's model wannabes in hope they get selected to become one. HAHA Infront of the Spanish Steps, theres this little as i like to call, fountain named Barcaccia, loosely translated as 'the old tub'. Opposite Spanish Steps were Via Condotti ; Shopping Mecca for those who loveeeeeeees designer items. From Gucci to LV, its theres babeyh. There likes 2 Pradas here, one specially for men and yes, the other one specially for women. its next to each other, but its not connected, =.= mind you, the bags here are like 1k cheaper than in Malaysia. After taking pictures of Spanish Steps and around, we climb it. it was, 103 steps, dad counted. hahaha, good exercise you know. I have no idea whats the road above called, but theres a church there. Kinda remind me of Notre Dome, dont know why. Took picture of the church and the inside, beautiful i tell you, then go back down. its shocking to see how many people are already there, and went to McD coz again, brother was hungry. =.='' after that, we back to hotel as some of the shops still aint open yet coz its a saturday, they open at noon -.-. lazy italians. and i slept till 2 or something, cant remember. jet lag ok! after that mum and me went for our first shopping trip, :D well dad and bro followed la actually, first time mah. we didnt buy anything much, just surveying first. My little brother brought his first item from italy, a sport shoe. haha, he dont have any sports shoe. he went to rome in sandals, hahahaha. i remember the name of the shop clearly, Geox(pronounced as Jogs). The shoes there are comfy but non of them are my style. So i didnt buy any. Mum on the other hand, like sooo many, yet all no size, hahhahaha, she gave up in the end. so basically, first day = Spanish Steps and around, shopping, first gelato and Italian pizza. AAAAA! My comp is lagging. =.= to be continueeeeeeee... -- okok, continue. since i got time now. this is Spanish Steps later on, but still in the morning, wait till afternoon. You could not walk without worrying steping on people's foot(or hand).
walk walk walk, its good exercise for the leg
Guess whereeee? TREVI FOUNTAIN : D yes, its the fountain where you throw coins in while wishing for something. Did you know that you actually CAN take the coins inside the fountain, but you CANT get into the fountain, nor can your hands, =.='' total coins that been thrown into the fountain in average is more than 50 000euros, O.O

LV's colourful stairs, ahhh, one of the tourist 'attraction'. hahah. (im too lazy to rotate for you people, xD) Day 2, Colosseo and Foro Roman(Roman Forum).
it was just, WOOW! well, im sure you all know about Colosseum, yes its where gladiators fought.. -.-' if you dont, check the wikipedia, xD im too lazy to take out my Rome Guide Book.
(first pic, on the way inside to the Colosseum ; second pic, Arco di Tito, outside the Colosseum)

inside the Colosseum (yeah, they're having some renovation for the floor part)
bye bye Colosseo, Hello Roman Forum

spot me if you can

hah, finally finish Roman Forum. Basically Roman Forum is like a business centre back in those days, they have a hall where they discuss politics, banks and blah blah blah. Above the hill of Roman Forum was Palatine, is where Romolus and his brother(yes, i forgot his name) was found by a wolf and was taken cared by the wolf, heh. Palantine also is where the castles are and yadaa3. xD *is is Palatine or Palpatine? hrmmm. ps, we didnt go to Palatines, so no piccies. and yes, i was the model of the day, xD its all because the boys were to tired and kept on searching for a place to sit, =.= while im with mum too busy taking pictures, xD -- Next day was raining super heavilly, i got my wish(which is just too stay in the hotel and do nothing) and yeah, we stayed in hotel doing nothing. well except we went shopping in the rain, hrmm. FREAKING COLD. Following day, TOO BRIGHT! xD we went to Vartican City, to the San Paolo's Basillica. I see the Pope, o.O |
