| I Was Never Really a "Camp" Person(Typical "I'm not dead" post)
After getting the shaft from one of the local TV stations in Dayton, and working for a few weeks down at my father's shop (washing busses) I finally have a job for the summer that's more...."Media-like." I'm working over in Camden (OH) at Pleasant Vineyard as their "Multimedia Director." Basically I'm responsible for taking pictures, shooting video, creating a weekly DVD (slide shows, music video), and updating parts of the website. I've been here now for about a week and I'm learning to adjust to the whole "Camp Thing." And by that I mean....annoying kids, feeling dirty/hot/sweaty all the time, hot cabins, annoying kids, and of course annoying kids. People have been asking me a lot if I've been having fun, and here's how I answer: It's not that I'm NOT having fun, it's just that...i mean...the kids are here to have fun....the counselors are here to play with the kids and to have fun.....and I'm here for business, and having fun is just a positive side effect.
It's kind of funny, the last media director that was here was just aweful. One of the camp directors asked me what I thought about last years DVD's and I told her, "Jamie....they really suck." Not quite sure if she was looking for that straight of an answer but oh well right? Anyways, the DVD's they've had in the past have been pretty much ALL crap, so I was excited to see what they'd have to say about my work. So far I've had nothing but great compliments.
I'm here for the whole summer. I live here during the week and I go home on the weekends. Kind of sucks, Ashley and I were hoping to get a big chunk of wedding planning done this summer, and now I'm only home on the weekends. When I first got down here (last week) I didn't have internet access where i was working and I thought that would be my demise, so naturally I had that fixed. Anyways...just wanted to give an update with all that's been going on.

| Post GradIt's now Firday at 3:00 am...and I've been in Corbit Hall editing for roughly 7 hours.
I've been given the responsibility to cut together a Sitcom that the Media Comm dept produced this semester.
It's basically about six friends and their lives after college. It's called "Post Grad." It has its funny moments, but when you've been staring at the same video for seven hours....the humor tends to fade away a bit.
Tomorrow is my last day at WKYT. The good thing is that they're going to hire me back in the fall when I come back for the next semester. I have an interview with WHIO in dayton for a News Videographer/Editor position coming up in the next week.
In other extremely happy news...ASHLEY'S BACK FROM IRELAND!!!
I know these thoughts are all random and this entry really doesn't flow....but like I said...it's 3:00 in the morning and i'll probably be here for another few hours. Ugh....

| Please pray for my roommate Noah. He got in a pretty bad car accident yesterday. Rolled his car, broke his arm in two places and messed up his face pretty bad.

| SPRING BREAK PLANS and SUCHAfter not being able to see Ashley for a few months I get to travel to Dublin, Ireland to see her!! We're going to spend a couple days in Dublin and then we're catching a flight to Tenerife which is located in the Cannery Islands right off Spain! I have ONE more day of class and then I'm headed home to pack! I've got a busy flight schedule: First I have to drive over to Columbus, then it's Columbus to Chicago...to Manchester...to Dublin. Then it's Dublin to Tenerife...and back again. It's like an eight...nine hour flight from Chicago to Manchester. I think I'll be taking Prison Break with me to watch on the plane. I just hope and pray I don't have a seat next to the big smelly woman who wants to talk the whole time...those types always seem to be on these flights. I'll let you know how it goes!!! I"M SO EXCITED!! And yes..when I say that I'm squealing like a small girl. :) Work has been going really well. They were originally only going to keep me for about a month, but thankfully they decided I was doing a good enough job that it would benefit them to keep me on for longer. God knows I can use the money. The group of people I work with are really fun to be around. They constantly make fun of me because I don't really know very much about sports. So every now and then I'll attempt to change the topic to movies, but the majority of them have no idea what I'm talking about. So as you can tell we communicate well. Saw "300" last week...and all I can say is.....YES!! That movie was one of the most amazing things I've seen in a long time. The dialogue is a little cheesy and weak in some parts, but what the dialogue lacks, visually it makes up for it in every way possible! watch my movie...please :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcD7aq2C6O8 Insert Conclusion | | |

Not Dead EntryBeen keeping fairly busy recently. I got a job working part time at a local news station wkyt as a Sports Videographer. Basically I go out to local high school basketball games, shoot some highlights, take it it back to the studio, cut it together, and write the scripts for the highlights I just cut together. Then they air on the 11:00 pm news. I'm working Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The job is a lot of fun. Working is so much better when it's something that your interested in. And by "interested in" I don't mean sports, I mean video production.
It's kinda weird because all the people who work in the sports department only talk about sports. I don't think their minds are capable of grasping onto anything else besides sports facts. I'm pretty sure if I asked one of them who Brad Pitt was they'd probably tell me he was some guy who coached some high school swimming team back in the 60's and took their team to state with a thirteen and two record. I try to bond with these people, I try to find something in common between us. However once you get past the fact that we shoot video for a living and understand shot composition and whatnot, I don't think this relationship is going anywhere.
Anyway...work is going well
I miss my Fiance
