| A flat tire on a trailer in Virginia Beach, an 8-hour-each-way trip away from home, blood stains on floors and curtains of our hotel room with bullet holes in the ceiling, seeing Sam's "defect," very little sleep from seeing Sam's "defect," not getting any homework done that's due this week, interstate driving at 3am, a speeding ticket, and a small spot on my back removed at the dermatologist today comprised my past week. Altogether, it was fun and worth it, but...I'm still kind of blue. We did get to help out the Invisible Children organization (the whole point of the show), which was amazingly awesome with a ton of exposure, and I've laughed harder this weekend than I probably ever have in my whole life.
LUCKILY...Lost starts Thursday night @ 9pm as I'm sure you well know by now, thanks to me, so I'm super excited.

| Season 4 of Lost in 17 days***Good GRIEF, I miss xanga...myspace is so ridiculously over-rated. I just use it for music and that's pretty much it.
As far as the usual music update goes, I'm playing January 26th with my great pals the Afterwhiles at a benefit show for Invisible Children in Virginia Beach, which will be really exciting. I'm Sailboats are Skyscrapin' it on February 1st at the Hibbert-Davis coffeehouse in Kingsport with Micah Messamore, Aaron Free, Cody Noe, and Scott Jenkins. You'd better come...it's only $3 and starts at 7pm.
A Plan of Escape is doing really well, we're focusing on recording and not playing shows around here because this is THE WORST ENVIRONMENT EVER to try and make music thrive. We're releasing an EP in March at Graffiti Music Hall in Asheville and it's going to be a really great show. Stay tuned on our myspace for that (myspace.com/aplanofescape). Our new music is definitely the best stuff we've ever done so far so we're stoked about releasing it. We're releasing two brand new songs online in February. Also, I'm going to be putting up two new Sailboats are Skyscrapers songs (that will feature a full band) in February. A new Snowflake Therapy is one of them, then the other song is brand new.
I'm seeing Angels and Airwaves (ahh, they're just ok), Meg and Dia (yeah), The Color Fred (heck yeah), and Ace Enders and a Million Different People (FREAKING HECK YEAH) on February 8th, so that will rule. I'm also painfully stoked for seeing Cloverfield on Thursday night, and especially season 4 of Lost on January 31st. If you follow the show, the 31st is actually a Thursday and it will be at 9pm, instead of the usual 10pm on Wednesdays. I just thought I'd let you know so you didn't forget.
I'm with a really amazing girl right now and I am praying a lot about this...
My family is doing great and we're going to have an awesome new year...so all in all everything is going pretty well. EXCEPT for the fact that school starts tomorrow...ugh. Plus I miss all of you xanga kids...LOTS. This is Ben Thompson, broadcasting on all frequencies. If you're out there....

| SAILBOATS ARE SKYSCRAPERS MUSIC NOW ONLINE!Music from my brand new acoustic project just debuted on myspace tonight...please take a minute to listen to it! It's very different from anything I've ever done and some people are bound to absolutely hate it...but I really think some people will enjoy it a lot.
