  • *21:30*

Thats the time of my flight tonight :(
I really really wish I didn't have to go back just yet.
This hols was exactly what I needed to clear my mind & pamper myself after the array of events in the past few months.
At least I can now go back in a better, happier state then when I just returned...
All thanks to my loving family & friends.

Didn't have time to blog until now since everyday was spend with one activity/catching up session after the next..
Last weekend's Spore trip was super fun as well!
Will upload pics when I get back to Melbourne.
    For now,
here's my Bangkok trip as promised~
    DSC03925=
*Thankyou Daddy dearest for taking us on such a memorable family trip* <3

We only spent 3 days there but it was felt so productive & incredibly relaxing at the same time.
Maybe cuz we didn't follow a tour as usual but went on short half-day tours of our interest!
Something to keep in mind the next time we travel..!

    Day1:

    Seafood Market.
It was more like a huge restaurant but you pick & choose your own seafood with a trolley which is why I suppose they call it a market!
    DSC03926=
*After which, you decided on how you'd like your seafood/vegetables to be cooked*
    DSC03937=
*All sorts of seafood, vegetables & fruits*
    DSC03938=
*Looks exactly like a typical seafood restaurant back home!*
    DSC03932=
*Their signature huge orange tree in the middle of the restaurant*
    DSC03931=
*Right below it was a pond with dozens of tiny goldfishes*

    At night,
we embarked on a river, dinner cruise.
    DSC03964=
*The Grand Pearl...and GRAND it was! The BEST cruise I've been on, in terms of food, service & ambience*
    HIGHLY RECCOMENDED.
    DSC03955=
*Mummy & I whilst waiting for the ship to dock*
    DSC03957=
*With Kington & Marx. My baby brothers who are both taller than me already* >.<
    DSC03961=
*Another pic with Marxie at the dock. I don't see a resemblance, do you?*

    Once inside,
    DSC03967=
*We were greeted by a huge buffet!!!*
    DSC03966=
    *The seemingly endless dessert table*
    DSC03976=
*My yummy sushi!! The sushi was FANTASTIC. The chef was really generous with the ingredients..Even looking at the pic now is making me salivate!!*
    DSC03999=
*Even the toilet was so well designed I couldn't resist!* ;)
    DSC03984=
*The top deck of the cruise..Isn't the scenery gorgeous? Not to mention romantic! Perfect honeymoon material* ;)

    Day2:
Shopping shopping & more shopping at Cha Tu Chak.
The one place recommended by everyone 10 times over..!
I spent a total of 6 hours there and still I couldn't finish walking through all the aisles.
Thats how HUGE the market was!!
No pics taken there of course..was too distracted by all there was to see ;p
I think I bought 8 dresses, 2 tops, a pair of shorts, and an assortment of earrings & bangles!!!
At nightfall we went to watch a Caberet 'Ah Gua' Show.
For those of you who don't know, 'Ah Gua's are transexuals..really rampant in Thailand & most of them are involved in showbiz!
    DSC04053=
*Not fantastic but at least was an eye opener!*

    Day 3:

    DSC04099=
*Coconut factory..everything was made out of coconut shells! Even the handbags O.o*
    DSC04104=
    *Me attempting to de-flesh coconut*

    Next stop...
    DSC04129=
    *The FLOATING MARKET!*
    DSC04122=
*All the market sellers were in quaint lil' boats like this. And if we wanted to buy something, they'd place their goods in a basket & use a long pole to hand it over!*
    DSC04111=
*All smiles in the motor boat. The ride was super fun!*

    And our final stop:
    DSC04143=
    *WOOD CARVING FACTORY*
    DSC04147=
*Their handiwork is so intricate its amazing! Some of their work need a whole 365days to complete. Talk about patience!!*
    DSC04151=
*Daddy dearest, the boys & I posing with a wood carved elephant. Mummy decided to forgo this trip & relax at the hotel*
    DSC04166=
*My one souvenir from the wood factory..hair chopsticks!*
    DSC04135=
*A final pic in our tourbus*

For once I've (sort of) finished packing!
But I keep getting the nagging suspicion that I've forgotten something although I really can't figure out what >.<
    Its 3-40pm now,
another 3 hrs before I've to leave for the airport...
I'm hoping Dec will come in a flash & then I'll be back for a nice looonggg break of 3 months!! :D
Then its another reunion and ITALY!!
Although I won't be seeing JiaWei & HsiaoVern who are both flying off to Uk for the first time.
    *sniffles*
    I'm missing everyone already,
but its time to bid my 1st home goodbye & head back to my 2nd home.
Melbourne, please be kind & not freeze me over on my first day back..!

  • *I LOVE HOLS*

    Ok, who doesn't!
but I'm honestly maximizing & enjoying every single minute of my time back home.
Being able to spend time with my dearest friends (you know who you are :) really make me happy!

Am going to miss all of you soooo much want I head back to Melb *sighhh
    Nono.
No talk of departing for another week & a half!!!
    *hastily changes the subject*

Today was a happy day :D
I FINALLY got to watch Wanted!
(which I found quite exciting & original but I prefer Hancock cuz its more 'feel good')
Spent an entire day with my darling JiaWei & managed to refrain myself not once, but TWICE from purchasing new outfits!!
Mummy must be so proud ;p
Its the FOUR LETTER WORD I tell you...
    SALE.
Oh you taunting, tempting, tease you!
I know I've said this a million times before,
but I've shopped enough (for now!) so shall not go overboard with my almost already exploding wardrobe >.<
And I finally met up with ZhenHong who is forever busy!
Understandably so though since he's now a working old man. Jk!;p
Had an incredibly satisfying Jap dinner @ Rakuzen, Piaza Damas (Highly recommended!)
Its really nice catching up with friends I only get to see a handful of times a year.
I guess it circumstances like these that makes these rare occasions even more so memorable.

Was about to blog about my Bangkok trip but its 2.30am already & I've got to get out of bed at 10 tomorrow!
Having some yummy CharSiu/HoneyGlazedChicken/SiuYok/Wanton Mee for Brunch!!!
    I sound like a piggg I know :D
but I really haven't had enough local delicacies as yet..!
Will try to update before my Singapore trip on Friday.
So shall leave you with a sneak pic of my trip:

  • *Sawadikaa*

Its 1am now and I just got back from Bangkok!
It really was one of the most enjoyable holidays I've ever spent with my family :)
Another day or two would be awesome but one can't ask for too much!!
I'm crazy exhausted but the ONLY thing on my mind was:
    MY EXAM RESULTS!!!!
Results were out since Friday but the page refused to load when I checked it before my flight!!
It kept lurking at the back of my mind throughout my trip but I wasn't prepared to face the unnerving consequence of "What If.."
    >.<
So I decided to wait till now to finally face the music.
    Good gracious.
I was praying, hoping, & crossing my fingers so hard I literally held my breath!

I'm expecting soooo much more this term cuz I (felt) sufficiently prepared & didn't procrastinate till the eleventh hour.
So I clicked on the results page.
    *Closed my eyes*
    Page loads.
    *Opened one eye*
Looked at the first 3 "H2A's".
    :D
    So far so good,
    buttttt 1 more to go!!!
    *Deep breath*
    Scrolled down...
    anddddd saw
    I got a H1 for my FINANCE!!!!!

Omgg, I was soooo ecstatic I started squealing
(which I got chided for as my mum thought something bad had happened)

    Honestly, hard work pays off.
Its good to finally kick the thief of time in me.
    Byebye procrastination..!
I'm determined to kiss mediocrity goodbye.
    Or at least try :)

  • *Bangkok,here I come!*

Will be heading to Bangkok this Friday till Sunday.
    I'm SUPER DUPER excited!!! :D
    Food & shopping haven.
Now thats what I call a holiday..!
Hope the heat doesn't deter me from going crazy exploring though.
I still haven't packed (as per usual)
but then again whats there to pack if I plan on a shopping spree right~!
    *wink*
I can't believe I've to miss CHEER 2008 for this trip though..
Been visiting the Calyx girls & boy am I proud of all their efforts & improvements ;)
Especially the flyers. Super cutee & mini...
There's this girl who Vern likened to the Energizer bunny cuz she was soooo energetic & adorable!!!
    *sighs in reminiscence*
I soooo miss being a cheerleader,
    priceless experience of a lifetime!
I still dream of being a part of it all sometimes.

I guess the old saying is true:
Once a cheerleader, always a cheerleader.
    AND

Singapore next weekend with my highschool friends.

I'm starting to think convinced that the 2 theatrical / musical experiences I have to forgo are worth every minute of this!

  • *Quick Update*

    3in1-
    Helloooo dearies :)
Sorry for the week long absence.
Been really busy trying to cram in as many activities to maximize my month-long holiday.
& already HALF of it is gonee *sobs*
I'm super duper tired from being out the entire day,
so I shall let the pics do the talking.
Here's what I've been up to:
    1. Dinner with Val, Chi & friends

    DSC03756=
*Us toasting to good food & wine* :)
    DSC03757=

    3. Reunited with darling cousin Su Inn for lunch + shopping.

    *Hot mamas~BeeLian & MeiXin*
    DSC03814=
    *Yoongie, Kinnnn & Brad!*

    6. Found out rather unfortunately that once again my trip back home has robbed me of my stage experience :(

If you recall, I auditioned for a Mandarin production last month.
Once they heard I was going to be away for a whole month of rehearsal though,
    it was a no-go.
    AND
    now this..

    Hey Caleen,
I'm really sorry to have to do this, but I was not aware that you would not be available until the end of the holidays. As we are using the holidays to our advantage, we will be getting through most of the choreography and large cast numbers, and we are aiming for a full run on Saturday 2nd of August. I believe that there is not have enough time to learn everything before the run and once uni and study starts there will be even less time for the show. Because of this I have to tell you that you do not have a role in the production anymore.
    Apologies again,

    Lauren Bok
    Producer
    Melbourne Model: The Musical

    *sighhh
One really can't have it all.
In order to achieve something, we must forgo another.
Somehow this is becoming increasingly apparent to me in recent events..
Hence the point of determination - What do you value most?
And that..would be my family & friends :)

    C'est la vie.

  • *One more thing*

I just wrote my first proper song.
Actually I've written songs in the past,
but none as heartfelt as this one..
I feel like I've written my heart out on pen and paper.
    Its so incredibly emotionally exhausting.
    Thankyou Marié Digby.
Now I understand why songwriters need a whole year to produce an album..!
Just have to figure out the piano chords..

I can hear it playing on the radio already.
If it ever makes it to the recording studio
(and I really hope it does :)
I just want to remember this day.

  • *Guess whose back. Back again* :)

    I'M HOME!!!!

Gosh, am I happy to be back!!
