| Everybody's Changing...
Let’s skip over all the cliché ridden introductions so prone to the post that follows a nearly two month leave of absence and move into the substance of what I have to say, except I can’t think of anything substantive to say. In retrospective, sitting down at this keyboard seems to have been an action destined to futility, but for some reason I find solace in the process.
I’m enjoying the newly found colder weather. The leaves are just starting to shed their lively green for shades of red and orange. Observing the scene, I’m reminded of the inevitability of change. I’m reminded of what Euripides wrote in Hecuba, “What can we take on trust in this uncertain life? Happiness, greatness, pride - nothing is secure, nothing keeps.” Birds fly south when they feel the winter chill, and often I wonder if I missed my migration. I feel misplaced. |
