WOW!! It has been a long time since I updated here.  A lot has happened since then, I guess.  Work is going great, my students are evil (most of the time) but I love them dearly.  This has been a tough year with co-workers, but God is amazing, and has given me a friend at work, who is an amazing Christian.  As of next year, I will be the most veteran math teacher on my campus, scary!  In March, I was teacher of the month!  In March, I also had to move back home for a short time (I hope).  I am praying for God to send me a new place to live,  I have looked at several houses, but they weren't it.  In March, I joined a new church in College Station,  Living Hope Baptist Church.  It is a church, that is devoted to growing disciples for Christ.  They hold you accountable and seek God for everything.  I am still working on getting involved, but I am loving it there.

Today was the Math TAKS,  thankfully, that is over!  It is really sad how one test can stress so many people out!  Hopefully my kiddos did good!  Once school is out, I will be teaching Summer School!  Fun stuff (I hope).  Well I can't think of anything else new.  I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

Just wanted to let y'all know that my grandfather, my mothers father, passed away on Tuesday.  He has been suffering from Alzheimers for 14 years (sorry, but that is why I harass when it is time for the Memory Walk).  We know he is in a much better place.  It will be hard, when we are back at work (regurally) and after work, we won't be going to the nursing home, but again he is not suffering any more.  He can remember stuff now, he can walk!  He was a great man who will be missed greatly, but he knows he was loved, the dr. said that is what kept him going for so long.  Anyways, the funeral will be Friday at 2 and the visitation will be Thursday from 5-8.  Please pray for my family that will be traveling.  Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Did you know a Brazos Valley animal shelter is having a dog walk and has already raised over $30,000 in sponsorships? Do you know how much the Alzheimer's Association for the Brazos Valley has raised? Just over $6,000 in sponsorships! Now, granted, this does not include the money raised by individuals which puts the total amount for the Alzheimer's Association raised to $9,613! Still less than 1/3 of what the animal shelter has raised!! Which organization have you donated to recently?

I have tried really hard not to bother everyone as much this year, but I have a goal to reach and this news disturbed me!! I have made a personal commitment to raise $500 for the Alzheimer's Association. I am almost half way there! Right now I have raised $214.
I know I can do this with the support of friends like you. Would you please consider making a donation? You can give online at the link below, mail it in, or give it to me and I will put it on the website for you!
If you would like to come walk with me, I would be honored!!!

Since my last update school has started, and man this is the busiest year yet!  I am teaching 3 on-level math classes, 1 being 1/2 ESL and SPD students, I also am teaching 1 PRE-AP math, and 1 TAKS math class.  I am teaching with all new teachers, who have never taught 7th grade, we have all new curriuculum, and new textbooks. I am basically planning all 3 classes and handing the new teachers everything, which I don't mind, b/c it was not that long that I was new, but man planning 3 classes, that are related to the TAKS test, it takes too much time.  I am going CRAZY!  I feel like I live at school these days, plus I am trying to go to home games, to support my students, and hey meet parents there too :)  So life is busy, but it is good.  My students are umm...not the best students you could ask for, but of course they are trying to push every button possible right now!  It has been interesting this year, I am the ESL 7th grade Math teacher, so I have all 9 ESL students that are in our grade, in my classes, and I have at least one in all classes!!!  But 2 are from Cambodia, one is in PRE-AP and he can understand and speak English pretty well, the other speaks NO english.  It has been so difficult communicating with him, but THANK GOD, our new textbooks came with this awesome Multilingual handbook, so it has our glossary in Cambodian, now teaching in a small town, this is amazing too us.  We very seldom, almost never, have students who speak another language other then, Spanish!  So this has taught me a lot, and these boys are amazing, they are so stinking CUTE!!!  Okay this is kind of a long post, but a little update on school

If you could please pray for the Leiber family, it is the teacher that teaches next door to me, her soon was in a car accident on Monday, and has had to have at least 3 surgery's, broke several bones in his leg, and some injury to his shoulder.  His oxygen level is low, but they do not know why, but it is not a blood clot in his lungs, which is great.  He was headed to SHSU, for class, when an 18 wheeler pulled out in front of him.

Also last year at this time, one of our 6th graders was killed in a car accident, her mom is our Academic Coordinator, and she was a twin.  Keep that family in your prayers as Monday is the one year mark of the accident. I have her sister in class this year, and what a precious girl, she is super sweet, and so much fun!

Sorry so long, hope everyone has a great weekend, and a good week!!!

School Begins!

I start work back on Wednesday, a little scary.  I don't know if i am ready yet,  i feel as if I am going to prison when I go back.  White walls, concrete floors, and no windows ! but that is why I just add lots and lots of color!!!  I have had a good summer, haven't updated here much, but spent some time with the family, (never once saw my youngest bro though) went to 2 camps, spent time at the beach, and of course got to go and visit Jennifer and Will!   Okay so one more day off, and I am going to enjoy it!!!
