  • I went to a nutrition lecture at my work today and something the nutritionist said was that if you eat a good breakfast (complex carbs + a little protein), you're fuller longer so you're less prone to binge eat junk food later. If you skip breakfast or just drink juice/coffee (simple carbs = digested very quickly, no sustained energy level), your body is actually fighting the whole day to get sugar, which explains cravings for chips and candy (processed foods that are quick but not really good for you).

Jesus is like a balanced breakfast. If I get enough of Him then I feel full, I'm not starved for anything else. Like I usually love hanging out with my friends til late, but after I spend time in His presence I am satiated and I just want to stay in with Him. God is mm mm good!

So two things: eat a good breakfast, and spend lots of time with Jesus.

  • I like what Pastor Joey said yesterday about how God can separate the mistakes from the person. People tend to look at what someone does and parallel it to who they are. God always says to me, "I know you." And everytime He says that I get a vision of the word "you" as light that is literally splitting the darkness. I think it's like when Paul said that he feels like he's the biggest sinner, because when you catch a revelation of God's grace you are so humbled that He is faithful to who He has made you to be, and that He doesn't see you as the mistakes you've made along the way. It helps in allowing you to give more grace to others. Since I know that's the Father's heart for me, whenever I look at people or pray for them I always see them as who they are created to be.

  • When I got tired of running from You
I stopped right there to catch my breath
There Your words they caught my ears
You said, "I miss you, son. Come home."
And my sins, they watched me leave
And in my heart I so believed
The love You felt for me was mine
The love I'd wished for all this time
And when the doors were closed
    I heard no "I told you so's"
I said the words I knew You knew
Oh God, oh God I needed You
God, all this time I needed You, I needed You.
    I So Hate Consequences - Relient K.

Every time I hear this part of the song I weep. My spirit gets so moved. I remember the first time I heard it was when I was working at Hollister like 4 years ago and I was walking around the store folding clothes, and when that part came on I stopped and started crying. God is sooo kind! If you're out wandering, just go home, it's better there, He misses you.

  • Please pray for Steven Curtis Chapman and his family.. his 5-year-old daughter was killed in a car accident earlier today (news article). Oh Lord, be near to them....

  • Please continue to pray for the earthquake victims in China and cyclone victims in Burma. Both places are a disaster.. Pray for God's mercy over the people and that He would bring healing and comfort to those who mourn. Pray that God will help them rebuild their communities. If you want to give, go to ALPHACOMMUNITIES, they give 100% of what you donate to set up relief centers with food and supplies right where the catastrophe is going on. Give with a heart of love for these people in need and cry out for God's mercy!
