| Yesterday was my favorite day of the whole year...yes my friends it was campus explosion day. The day I have been talking about it all winter, the little glimmer of hope at the end of the long dark tunnel of cold and snow. This is the day where students flock to the green space and sit on blankets or play frisbee and hang out in the beautiful sunshine. Since we are forced to hybernate in winter due to the freezing conditions this is a day where we return to being an alive college campus. It has been warm all week but yesterday was the first day it was sunny and so it officially marked campus explosion day. Students skip classes or teachers cancel them and it is a wonderful celebration of spring. It will probably continue into today as well because the high is 75 :)
Then the day got better...if that's possible. I then had Potbelly for dinner (Es and I took Julie for the first time) and then Coldstone for dessert. One of my favorite things is eating ice cream in the humidity of summer, and since this was a glimmer of that it was amazing.
I love Spring...I was not made for cold weather.
| I want a nap and my three papers to be done. Where's a magic lamp when you need one? | | |
| I gave up caffeine for lent. (Specifically coffee and coke) It's day three and I'm dying. What was I thinking? | | |
| Things I miss right now:
- The ocean
- Humidity
- Eating ceviche in a tiki bar on the board walk in Atacames while drinking a batido de coco
- The sounds of the rain forest
- Ecuador in general
- Flip flops
- Camp
- The Santa Cruz Boardwalk/.65 cent night
Why is winter so long?
p.s. Noelle I'm thinking Ecua beach trip after grad...what do you think?
| I hate when oatmeal gets all gooey. It just doesn't taste the same after that. Then it sticks to the spoon and turns into a glue like substance you have no desire to eat, but do anyway because you're hungry and it's cold outside and it's one of the few breakfast foods Java Haus serves. And when you've been sitting at work for the last 2 hours with no customers, these are the things you think about. | | |
