  • INDIA!!

This trip was very eye opening.

    1. Clothing is very cheap there. Thus, I bought about 8 skirts....maybe more at the export market. They basically sold anything the stores abroad dont like or didnt want anymore. I found those long floofy skirts they sold at urban over there too along with a skirt from H&M : )
    2. Pedicures, manicures, and facials are way too expensive in the US. Guys, if your feet are just nasty, GET A PEDICURE atleast once especially if you wear sandals. Trust me it helps.
US: they make your nails look pretty.
India: They actually clean your feet along with the pretty stuff.
    3. The metro is so wonderful. It's big and clean and has air conditioning!! (In India that's a huge deal)  The size of it is much larger than the one in New York, London, or Paris.
    4. Herbal stuff is the way to go when it comes to taking care of yourself. I have a whole list of things that I'm going to try to do. For example: 1/4 part Cinnamon mixed in 1 part Honey is good for allergies, acne, muscle pain and so many more things. Basically the cinnamon increases that affect honey has. Rubbing it on a muscle pain can relieve it.
There is also this cactus looking plant called aloe vera (everyone knows what this is) except if you get it straight from the plant, it has 20 of the amino acids that you need. Aloe vera is also good for people with diabetes since it lowers the blood sugar level.
Eating a tablespoon/teaspoon amount of both these things is all you need each day. I know I wont be able to get pure aloe vera at school, but I can have some when ever I come home....or I could plant some in a pot at school....maybe I'll do that! : )
    5. All the girls our age are so skinny. I thought people in Austin were pretty fit and skinny but noooo. All my relatives thought I had gained weight in a bad way from when they last saw me 3 years ago. It was quite depressing. I just blame it on the dorm food.
    6. People abroad think Americans are rude. It was a bit annoying hearing people talk about American's (including my sister and myself) like that. People in India dont like the way most people in America have the dont ask dont tell type of attitude and dont say thank you or sorry in every sentence like Europeans.

Onto other things from India...on my mom's side of the family I am the oldest cousin. My youngest cousin just turned 1 while I was India and she is so adorable. I kinda like being the oldest one since all my cousins are very cute right now, but at the same time I feel really out of place since I am much older than them. Kids at the age 6 dont remember me or anyone after 3 years so it kinda sucks being a stranger to them. This is why babies are good since they are cute even if they dont remember you.  I cant wait for the rest of my aunts to have babies, since one of them just got married.

Anyways this entry is really long which is pretty cool since I havnt written one like this in a very long time. Yay for me! I cant wait to get back to Austin and see Prasanth and everyone else. It's been way too long. Talking online isnt enough, but atleast there are only 17 more days left : )

One thing about Indian accents which became very annoying was when people said, "Hello". They said, "Hallo" in stead.

  • A 3 year old girl who lives down the street spent half the day with me today. She is soooo Adorable!! and she can actually say my name : ) (now that's impressive) She has the little curls in her hair and she never cries unless she actually hurts herself. I wish all little kids were like her : )

  • This is orange because of the obvious: I went to freakin Austin this past weekend!!! It was so great seeing everyone along with Prasanth of course. Not seeing him and not being able to talk to him (excluding aim) was kinda getting on my nerves. I kinda of wish I could have stayed there for a little longer or have the chance to go up again atleast once more this summer but that wont happen, since i'm going to India right in the middle. I know it will be fun, and time will fly very quickly, well, atleast I hope it does. The flight is the only thing I'm regretting though since I'll be sitting in one plane for EDIT: 14 hours straight!! (eeks scary!!!) Anyways, I'll be back on August 8 and then there will only be about 2 1/2 more weeks of summer left which will be nice since being home is becoming quite boring. I have noticed that my mom wont let me go out for more than 2 nights in a row and that too at night, considering how everyone only gets home in the evening after work. I know I should probably be more social and what not and there really are no excuses but if I were the social type I would have hung out with tons more people by now (I know it's an excuse). Eh, what ever I think I've done a pretty good job so far.

Well, one good thing happened today. I finally cleaned out my closet and my two chests. One of them had junk in it (it's practically broken since it used to be my parents') and the other has clothes. It showed me just how many shirts I have...i think I may have too many : / oops! I definitely need another pair of shorts from old navy though. I love the pair I bought in California they are so comfy, and the right length. I just hope they have it herein the khaki color  : )

2 more months till I'm back in Austin...
