| | valentines funWell Thursday night the wife and I double dated with our 14 yr old daughter and her boyfriend. The evening didn't start out very well as we were late to the restaurant. They had given our table away but were able to get us another one fairly quickly. Michaela had bought a new dress just for the occasion but had decided it was too dressy. She wore the standard fare for her age group, tattered jeans. Luckily Lucas (the bf) was dressed similarly. At least I had remembered what day it was and wore my red shirt and tie. Michaela decided she wanted to order from the childrens menu. A simple cheeseburger was what she wanted. And the crayons and coloring page that was part of the menu. haha. The rest of us ordered from the regular menu. The place we went is called the Peppery. It is known here for its fairly spicy foods. Not everything is really spicy but there is a definite taste to most dishes. Cindy got the ribs, I got a pasta primavera and Lucas decided on Jambalaya. Cindy asked me what that was and I told her. She asked Lucas if there was shrimp in it. He said no. Guess he didn't read closely enough. When he got it he found indeed, two good sized shrimp there. He treated them like most kids treat broccoli, he put them aside. We did learn a couple of things about Lucas, he likes his food really spicy and he likes to (or wants to) cook. He is also very quiet. I like that in a boy.
I liked the food pretty well and cleaned my plate. We had deep fried onion strings as an appetizer. They are soooo good. Pour on some ranch dressing and oh my! Except for the after affects that last till sometime the next day. oops. In all it was not a bad way to spend Valentines day.

That's cool that you double dated like that.
I don't know that quiet in a guy is a good thing ???
