Smile, It's the End of the World

Wow, another weekend has come and gone. Time is just zooming by. We still haven't had any bites on our house. Not even any nibbles. It is a little discouraging, but I keep reminding myself that it is all in God's timing.

My in-laws were here for the weekend. It actually went pretty good. My mother-in-law is recovering from heart surgery and she has lost 65 lbs. She is doing fairly well considering she still has about 50 lbs to lose. I get so frustrated with them because they play favorites among the kids and grandkids and we are way down on the favorite list. I don't care about not being given things, but they really don't have to rub it in my daughter's face that they gave my nephew a car. Anyway, the visit was good. She didn't criticize my housekeeping or tell me how to cook the meals.

We have more company coming in for a visit some time this week. They are some friends of ours from California. Him and Jim have been friends since before we got married. I think they are only staying overnight and it will be good to see them.

Then the following weekend is Surf Camp with the church youth group. That ought to be fun. I haven't decided yet if I will try to surf. I probably will. See ya!

Thanks for your comment on my site! We took our parakeet with us on a trip from Ohio to Oklahoma one summer. It was fun carrying him into the hotels. (We were going to live in OK for 2 months, so we had to do something with him!)

Oh wow, we have the same thing in our family! My husband was the blacksheep of the family, and the only addict, so he was not liked by many in his family even after he sobered up, his Dad still bragged on everyone else but him and always said things like, "don't know where we went wrong w/ you." Even after he sobered up, which always irritated me!

I'm glad you had a nice visit and it's always nice when they don't criticize us!

Have fun surfing!

Lots of us black sheep out there!  It has taken me 20 years to learn to take deep breaths and try not to let it bother me!  For our first wedding anniversary my mom-in-law gave us a canister vaccuum because she noticed that I wasn't sweeping around the edges of the carpet! lol

Surf camp!  Cool!!!  That wouldn't work very well in Kansas though :(

I am a second wife, and often feel like a 'step-daughter-in-law'.  I don't even know if they know that, but there is a definate difference in the way the blood grandkids and the step-grandkids are treated, too.  Oh well, deep breathing is good for you.  RYC:  Don't you love brothers!  I called mine yesterday and gave him "relationship" advice.  (Essentially, let God lead, He knows how to make you happy, and He wants to.)  Hope you enjoy a visit with your friends, and the surfing sounds cool.  Go for it!

God's Timing ??? Did you ask God for patience somewhere down the line??? Ohhh .

What  Hmschlingmom2 ,TaunaLen & OneNarrowRoadWalker, don't understand is that your husband has always done evrything right, but still fell short of any praise from his folks.

That was it Knickers ! You hit the thing on the knot. He did get out on his own and MIL resents that.....If he would just let her mother him a little.....move to Arkansas....cater to her whims......?????
